ਸਾਜਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨ ਕੀ ਹੋਇ ਰਹਾ ਸਦ ਧੂਰਿ ॥
sājan tērē charan kī hōi rahā sad dhūr .
O my Friend, I shall forever remain the dust of Your feet.
ਮਿਲਿ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਕਮਾਇਆ ॥
mil māt pitā pind kamāiā .
The union of the mother and father brings the body into being.
ਕਰਣੀ ਕਾਗਦੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਸਵਾਣੀ ਬੁਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਦੁਇ ਲੇਖ ਪਏ ॥
karanī kāgad man masavānī burā bhalā dui lēkh paē .
Actions are the paper, and the mind is the ink; good and bad are both recorded upon it.
ਬਿਮਲ ਮਝਾਰਿ ਬਸਸਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜਲ ਪਦਮਨਿ ਜਾਵਲ ਰੇ ॥
bimal majhār basas niramal jal padaman jāval rē .
In the pure, immaculate waters, both the lotus and the slimy scum are found.
ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਅਸੰਖ ਹੋਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗ ॥
patit punīt asankh hōh har charanī man lāg .
Countless sinners are sanctified, attaching their minds to the Feet of the Lord.
ਮੁਲ ਖਰੀਦੀ ਲਾਲਾ ਗੋਲਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਾਉ ਸਭਾਗਾ ॥
mul kharīdī lālā gōlā mērā nāu sabhāgā .
I am Your slave, Your bonded servant, and so I am called fortunate.
ਕੋਈ ਆਖੈ ਭੂਤਨਾ ਕੋ ਕਹੈ ਬੇਤਾਲਾ ॥
kōī ākhai bhūtanā kō kahai bētālā .
Some call him a ghost; some say that he is a demon.
ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਰਬ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥
ih dhan sarab rahiā bharapūr .
This wealth is all-pervading, permeating all.
ਸੂਰ ਸਰੁ ਸੋਸਿ ਲੈ ਸੋਮ ਸਰੁ ਪੋਖਿ ਲੈ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਰਤੁ ਸੁ ਸਨਬੰਧੁ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
sūr sar sōs lai sōm sar pōkh lai jugat kar marat s sanabandh kījai .
Heat up the sun energy of the right nostril, and cool down the moon energy of the left nostril; practicing this breath-control, bring them into perfect balance.
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੁਈ ਨ ਮਨੁ ਮੁਆ ਸਰੁ ਲਹਰੀ ਮੈ ਮਤੁ ॥
māiā muī n man muā sar laharī mai mat .
Maya is not conquered, and the mind is not subdued; the waves of desire in the world-ocean are intoxicating wine.
ਜੋਗੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰਮਾਇਲੁ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਰਾਤੀ ॥
jōgī jugat nām niramāil tā kai mail n rātī .
The Yogi who is joined to the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is pure; he is not stained by even a particle of dirt.
ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਜਾਗੈ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਸੋਵੈ ॥
ahinis jāgai nīd n sōvai .
Day and night, he remains awake and aware; he never sleeps or dreams.
ਜਹ ਬੈਸਾਲਹਿ ਤਹ ਬੈਸਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਹ ਭੇਜਹਿ ਤਹ ਜਾਵਾ ॥
jah baisālah tah baisā suāmī jah bhējah tah jāvā .
Wherever You seat me, there I sit, O my Lord and Master; wherever You send me, there I go.
ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਨਾ ਥੀਐ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
āvan jānā nā thīai nij ghar vāsā hōi .
Coming and going in reincarnation no longer exist, when one dwells in the home of the self within.
ਪਿਛਲੇ ਗੁਨਹ ਬਖਸਾਇ ਜੀਉ ਅਬ ਤੂ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
pishalē gunah bakhasāi jīu ab tū mārag pāi .
Please forgive my past mistakes, O my Dear Lord; now, please place me on the Path.
ਸਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੇ ਟੋਲਿ ਲਹੁ ਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥
sach ratē sē tōl lah sē viralē sansār .
Seek and find those who are imbued with Truth; they are so rare in this world.
ਮਾਰੂ ਤੇ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਕਰੇ ਮਨੂਰਹੁ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
mārū tē sītal karē manūrah kanchan hōi .
He transforms the burning desert into a cool oasis; he transmutes rusted iron into gold.
ਜਪਿਓ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਕ ਜਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੇ ॥
japiō nām suk janak gur bachanī har har saran parē .
Suk-deva and Janak meditated on the Naam; following the Guru's Teachings, they sought the Sanctuary of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਸਿਧ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਪਿਆ ॥
sidh samādh japiō liv lāī sādhik mun japiā .
The Siddhas in Samaadhi meditate on Him; they are lovingly focused on Him. The seekers and the silent sages meditate on Him as well.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਲੈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
har har nām nidhān lai guramat har pat pāi .
Take the treasure of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. Follow the Guru's Teachings, and the Lord shall bless you with honor.
ਹਉ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਸਾਇਦਾ ਕੋ ਦਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
hau pūnjī nām dasāidā kō dasē har dhan rās .
I inquire about the commodity of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. Is there anyone who can show me the wealth, the capital of the Lord?
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥
har har kathā sunāi prabh guramat har ridai samānī .
O Lord God, please preach Your sermon to me. Through the Guru's Teachings, the Lord is merged into my heart.
ਹਰਿ ਭਾਉ ਲਗਾ ਬੈਰਾਗੀਆ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਰਾਖੁ ॥
har bhāu lagā bairāgīā vadabhāgī har man rākh .
Detached from the world, I am in love with the Lord; by great good fortune, I have enshrined the Lord within my mind.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥
har har bhagat bharē bhandārā .
Devotional worship to the Lord, Har, Har, is an overflowing treasure.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
har har nām japah man mērē .
Chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, O my mind.
ਡਰਪੈ ਧਰਤਿ ਅਕਾਸੁ ਨਖ੍ਯਤ੍ਰਾ ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਅਮਰੁ ਕਰਾਰਾ ॥
darapai dharat akās nakhyatrā sir ūpar amar karārā .
The earth, the Akaashic ethers and the stars abide in the Fear of God. The almighty Order of the Lord is over the heads of all.
ਪਾਂਚ ਬਰਖ ਕੋ ਅਨਾਥੁ ਧ੍ਰੂ ਬਾਰਿਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਅਮਰ ਅਟਾਰੇ ॥
pānhch barakh kō anāth dhrū bārik har simarat amar atārē .
The five year old orphan boy Dhroo, by meditating in remembrance on the Lord, became stationary and permanent.
ਵਿਤ ਨਵਿਤ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਓ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤੀ ਅਨਿਕ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਿ ਧਾਏ ॥
vit navit bhramiō bah bhātī anik jatan kar dhāē .
For the sake of riches, I wandered around in so many ways; I rushed around, making all sorts of efforts.
ਕਵਨ ਥਾਨ ਧੀਰਿਓ ਹੈ ਨਾਮਾ ਕਵਨ ਬਸਤੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰਾ ॥
kavan thān dhīriō hai nāmā kavan basat ahankārā .
In what place is the Name established? Where does egotism dwell?
ਮਾਨ ਮੋਹ ਅਰੁ ਲੋਭ ਵਿਕਾਰਾ ਬੀਓ ਚੀਤਿ ਨ ਘਾਲਿਓ ॥
mān mōh ar lōbh vikārā bīō chīt n ghāliō .
Pride, emotional attachment, greed and corruption are gone; I have not placed anything else, other than the Lord, within my consciousness.
ਖੁਲਿਆ ਕਰਮੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਭਈ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਈ ॥
khuliā karam kripā bhaī thākur kīratan har har gāī .
Good karma has dawned for me - my Lord and Master has become merciful. I sing the Kirtan of the Praises of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਜੋ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸਰਬ ਗੁਣ ਨਾਇਕੁ ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਗਾਵਸਿ ਰੇ ॥
jō samarath sarab gun nāik tis kau kabah n gāvas rē .
He is all-powerful, the Master of all virtues, but you never sing of Him!
ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਨੈ ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਕਹਾ ਦੁਲਾਰਿਓ ॥
antarajāmī sabh bidh jānai tis tē kahā dulāriō .
The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows everything; what can anyone hide from Him?
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਾਖੇ ਚੀਤਿ ॥
charan kamal prabh rākhē chīt .
I have enshrined the lotus feet of God within my consciousness.
ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਜੀਅ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਤੁਮ ਕਾਹੇ ਬਿਸਾਰਿਓ ਅਗਿਆਨਥ ॥
prān sukhadātā jī sukhadātā tum kāhē bisāriō agiānath .
He is the Giver of peace to the breath of life, the Giver of life to the soul; how can you forget Him, you ignorant person?
ਗੁਪਤੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਡਹਕਾਵਏ ਮਨੁਖਾਇ ॥
gupat karatā sang sō prabh dahakāvaē manukhāi .
You may act in secrecy, but God is still with you; you can only deceive other people.
ਬਾਹਰਿ ਢੂਢਨ ਤੇ ਛੂਟਿ ਪਰੇ ਗੁਰਿ ਘਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ਥਾ ॥
bāhar dhūdhan tē shūt parē gur ghar hī māh dikhāiā thā .
I have quit searching outside; the Guru has shown me that God is within the home of my own heart.
ਜਿਸਹਿ ਸਾਜਿ ਨਿਵਾਜਿਆ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਸਿਉ ਰੁਚ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
jisah sāj nivājiā tisah siu ruch nāh .
You feel no love for the One who created and embellished you.
ਫੂਟੋ ਆਂਡਾ ਭਰਮ ਕਾ ਮਨਹਿ ਭਇਓ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥
phūtō ānhdā bharam kā manah bhaiō paragās .
The egg of doubt has burst; my mind has been enlightened.
ਬੇਦੁ ਪੁਕਾਰੈ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਪੰਡਤ ਕਾਮਾਮਨ ਕਾ ਮਾਠਾ ॥
bēd pukārai mukh tē pandat kāmāman kā māthā .
The Pandit, the religious scholar, proclaims the Vedas, but he is slow to act on them.
ਕੋਟਿ ਲਾਖ ਸਰਬ ਕੋ ਰਾਜਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ॥
kōt lākh sarab kō rājā jis hiradai nām tumārā .
One who has Your Name in his heart is the king of all the hundreds of thousands and millions of beings.
ਓਅੰਕਾਰਿ ਉਤਪਾਤੀ ॥
ōankār utapātī .
The One Universal Creator Lord created the creation.
ਮੋਹਨੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਲੀਏ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਨੀਆ ॥
mōhanī mōh līē trai gunīā .
Maya, the enticer, has enticed the world of the three gunas, the three qualities.
ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਏਕੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਸੋਊ ॥
simarah ēk niranjan sōū .
Meditate in remembrance on the One Immaculate Lord.
ਕਤ ਕਉ ਡਹਕਾਵਹੁ ਲੋਗਾ ਮੋਹਨ ਦੀਨ ਕਿਰਪਾਈ ॥੧॥
kat kau dahakāvah lōgā mōhan dīn kirapāī .1.
Why do you try to deceive others, O people of the world? The Fascinating Lord is Merciful to the meek. ||1||
ਮੇਰਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਅਤਿ ਭਾਰਾ ॥
mērā thākur at bhārā .
My Lord and Master is utterly powerful.
ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਬਲੇ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
patit udhāran tāran bal bal balē bal jāīai .
The Redeemer of sinners, who carries us across; I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice, a sacrifice, a sacrifice to Him.
ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਆਘਾਏ ਸੰਤਾ ॥
tripat āghāē santā .
The Saints are fulfilled and satisfied;
ਛੋਡਿ ਸਗਲ ਸਿਆਣਪਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ ॥
shōd sagal siānapā mil sādh tiāg gumān .
Abandon all your clever tricks; meet with the Holy, and renounce your egotistical pride.
ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਸੇ ਹੋਤ ਦੇਖੇ ਖੇਹ ॥
jinī nām visāriā sē hōt dēkhē khēh .
Those who have forgotten the Naam, the Name of the Lord - I have seen them reduced to dust.
