Maaroo, Third Mehl:
ਪਿਛਲੇ ਗੁਨਹ ਬਖਸਾਇ ਜੀਉ ਅਬ ਤੂ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
pishalē gunah bakhasāi jīu ab tū mārag pāi .
Please forgive my past mistakes, O my Dear Lord; now, please place me on the Path.
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹਾ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥੧॥
har kī charanī lāg rahā vichah āp gavāi .1.
I remain attached to the Lord's Feet, and eradicate self-conceit from within. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
mērē man guramukh nām har dhiāi .
O my mind, as Gurmukh, meditate on the Name of the Lord.
ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹਾ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਏਕੈ ਭਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sadā har charanī lāg rahā ik man ēkai bhāi .1. rahāu .
Remain attached forever to the Lord's Feet, single-mindedly, with love for the One Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਨਾ ਮੈ ਜਾਤਿ ਨ ਪਤਿ ਹੈ ਨਾ ਮੈ ਥੇਹੁ ਨ ਥਾਉ ॥
nā mai jāt n pat hai nā mai thēh n thāu .
I have no social status or honor; I have no place or home.
ਸਬਦਿ ਭੇਦਿ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਕਟਿਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਆ ਸਮਝਾਇ ॥੨॥
sabad bhēd bhram katiā gur nām dīā samajhāi .2.
Pierced through by the Word of the Shabad, my doubts have been cut away. The Guru has inspired me to understand the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2||
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਲਚ ਕਰਦਾ ਫਿਰੈ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
ih man lālach karadā phirai lālach lāgā jāi .
This mind wanders around, driven by greed, totally attached to greed.
ਧੰਧੈ ਕੂੜਿ ਵਿਆਪਿਆ ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਚੋਟਾ ਖਾਇ ॥੩॥
dhandhai kūr viāpiā jam pur chōtā khāi .3.
He is engrossed in false pursuits; he shall endure beatings in the City of Death. ||3||
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
nānak sabh kish āpē āp hai dūjā nāhī kōi .
O Nanak, God Himself Himself is all-in-all. There is no other at all.
ਭਗਤਿ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਬਖਸਿਓਨੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੩॥
bhagat khajānā bakhasiōn guramukhā sukh hōi .4.3.
He bestows the treasure of devotional worship, and the Gurmukhs abide in peace. ||4||3||
