ਮੰਗਤ ਜਨੁ ਜਾਚੈ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਪਸਾਉ ॥
mangat jan jāchai har dēh pasāu .
The beggar begs for it; O Lord, please bless him, in Your kindness.
ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
har sat sat sadā har sat har sat mērai man bhāvai jīu .2.
True, True is the Lord; the Lord is forever True; the True Lord is pleasing to my mind. ||2||
ਨਵੇ ਛਿਦ੍ਰ ਸ੍ਰਵਹਿ ਅਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਾ ॥
navē shidr sravah apavitrā .
The nine holes pour out filth.
ਬੋਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਤਾ ॥
bōl har nām pavitr sabh kitā .
Chanting the Lord's Name, they are all purified and sanctified.
ਜੇ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਮਲੁ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
jē har suprasann hōvai mērā suāmī har simarat mal lah jāvai jīu .3.
When my Lord and Master is totally pleased, He leads the mortal to meditate in remembrance on the Lord, and then his filth is taken away. ||3||
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਹੈ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
māiā mōh bikham hai bhārī .
Attachment to Maya is terribly treacherous.
ਕਿਉ ਤਰੀਐ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ॥
kiu tarīai dutar sansārī .
How can one cross over the difficult world-ocean?
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਬੋਹਿਥੁ ਦੇਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਲੰਘਾਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥
satigur bōhith dēi prabh sāchā jap har har pār langhāvai jīu .4.
The True Lord bestows the boat of the True Guru; meditating on the Lord, Har, Har, one is carried across. ||4||
ਤੂ ਸਰਬਤ੍ਰ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ॥
tū sarabatr tērā sabh kōī .
You are everywhere; all are Yours.
ਜੋ ਤੂ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹੋਈ ॥
jō tū karah sōī prabh hōī .
Whatever You do, God, that alone comes to pass.
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਬੇਚਾਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੫॥੧॥੭॥

O Lord, Har, Har, take pity on me,
ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਮਾਲੀ ॥
har hiradai sadā sadā samālī .
that within my heart, I may dwell upon You, Lord, forever and ever.
