ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
dhan dhan har jan jin har prabh jātā .
Blessed, blessed are the humble servants of the Lord, who know the Lord God.
ਜਾਇ ਪੁਛਾ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਬਾਤਾ ॥
jāi pushā jan har kī bātā .
I go and ask those humble servants about the Mysteries of the Lord.
ਪਾਵ ਮਲੋਵਾ ਮਲਿ ਮਲਿ ਧੋਵਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਚੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
pāv malōvā mal mal dhōvā mil har jan har ras pīchai jīu .2.
I wash and massage their feet; joining with the humble servants of the Lord, I drink in the Sublime Essence of the Lord. ||2||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦਾਤੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਿੜਾਇਆ ॥
satigur dātai nām dirāiā .
The True Guru, the Giver, has implanted the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within me.
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
vadabhāgī gur darasan pāiā .
By great good fortune, I have obtained the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਸਚੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਬੋਲੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਲੀਚੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
anmrit ras sach anmrit bōlī gur pūrai anmrit līchai jīu .3.
The True Essence is Ambrosial Nectar; through the Ambrosial Words of the Perfect Guru, this Amrit is obtained. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਤ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਿਲਾਈਐ ॥
har satasangat sat purakh milāīai .
O Lord, lead me to the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, and the true beings.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥
mil satasangat har nām dhiāīai .
Joining the Sat Sangat, I meditate on the Lord's Name.
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਬੋਲੀ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਪਰੀਚੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੬॥
nānak har kathā sunī mukh bōlī guramat har nām parīchai jīu .4.6.
O Nanak, I listen and chant the Lord's Sermon; through the Guru's Teachings, I am fulfilled by the Name of the Lord. ||4||6||
ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥
mājh mahalā 4 .
Maajh, Fourth Mehl:
ਆਵਹੁ ਭੈਣੇ ਤੁਸੀ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਪਿਆਰੀਆ ॥
āvah bhainē tusī milah piārīā .
Come, dear sisters-let us join together.
ਜੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਦਸੇ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀਆ ॥
jō mērā prītam dasē tis kai hau vārīā .
I am a sacrifice to the one who tells me of my Beloved.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਲਧਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣੁ ਹਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਘੁਮਾਈਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
mil satasangat ladhā har sajan hau satigur vitah ghumāīā jīu .1.
Joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, I have found the Lord, my Best Friend. I am a sacrifice to the True Guru. ||1||
ਜਹ ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਤਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
jah jah dēkhā tah tah suāmī .
Wherever I look, there I see my Lord and Master.
ਤੂ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
tū ghat ghat raviā antarajāmī .
You are permeating each and every heart, O Lord, Inner-knower, Searcher of Hearts.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਲਿ ਦਿਖਾਲਿਆ ਹਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਸਦ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
gur pūrai har nāl dikhāliā hau satigur vitah sad vāriā jīu .2.
The Perfect Guru has shown me that the Lord is always with me. I am forever a sacrifice to the True Guru. ||2||
ਏਕੋ ਪਵਣੁ ਮਾਟੀ ਸਭ ਏਕਾ ਸਭ ਏਕਾ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਬਾਈਆ ॥
ēkō pavan mātī sabh ēkā sabh ēkā jōt sabāīā .
There is only one breath; all are made of the same clay; the light within all is the same.
ਸਭ ਇਕਾ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਭਿਨਿ ਭਿਨਿ ਨ ਰਲਈ ਕਿਸੈ ਦੀ ਰਲਾਈਆ ॥
sabh ikā jōt varatai bhin bhin n ralaī kisai dī ralāīā .
The One Light pervades all the many and various beings. This Light intermingles with them, but it is not diluted or obscured.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਇਕੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਇਆ ਹਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਵਤਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
gur parasādī ik nadarī āiā hau satigur vitah vatāiā jīu .3.
By Guru's Grace, I have come to see the One. I am a sacrifice to the True Guru. ||3||
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬੋਲੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
jan nānak bōlai anmrit bānī .
Servant Nanak speaks the Ambrosial Bani of the Word.
ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾਂ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਭਾਣੀ ॥
gurasikhānh kai man piārī bhānī .
It is dear and pleasing to the minds of the GurSikhs.
ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਕਰੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੭॥
upadēs karē gur satigur pūrā gur satigur paraupakārīā jīu .4.7.
The Guru, the Perfect True Guru, shares the Teachings. The Guru, the True Guru, is Generous to all. ||4||7||
ਸਤ ਚਉਪਦੇ ਮਹਲੇ ਚਉਥੇ ਕੇ ॥
sat chaupadē mahalē chauthē kē .
Seven Chau-Padas Of The Fourth Mehl. ||
ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਚਉਪਦੇ ਘਰੁ ੧ ॥
mājh mahalā 5 chaupadē ghar 1 .
Maajh, Fifth Mehl, Chau-Padas, First House:
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਲੋਚੈ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨ ਤਾਈ ॥
mērā man lōchai gur darasan tāī .
My mind longs for the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan.
ਬਿਲਪ ਕਰੇ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਕੀ ਨਿਆਈ ॥
bilap karē chātrik kī niāī .
It cries out like the thirsty song-bird.
ਤ੍ਰਿਖਾ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਦਰਸਨ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
trikhā n utarai sānht n āvai bin darasan sant piārē jīu .1.
My thirst is not quenched, and I can find no peace, without the Blessed Vision of the Beloved Saint. ||1||
ਹਉ ਘੋਲੀ ਜੀਉ ਘੋਲਿ ਘੁਮਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
hau ghōlī jīu ghōl ghumāī gur darasan sant piārē jīu .1. rahāu .
I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to the Blessed Vision of the Beloved Saint Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਤੇਰਾ ਮੁਖੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਾ ਜੀਉ ਸਹਜ ਧੁਨਿ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
tērā mukh suhāvā jīu sahaj dhun bānī .
Your Face is so Beautiful, and the Sound of Your Words imparts intuitive wisdom.
ਚਿਰੁ ਹੋਆ ਦੇਖੇ ਸਾਰਿੰਗਪਾਣੀ ॥
chir hōā dēkhē sāringapānī .
It is so long since this rainbird has had even a glimpse of water.
ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁ ਦੇਸੁ ਜਹਾ ਤੂੰ ਵਸਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਜਣ ਮੀਤ ਮੁਰਾਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
dhann s dēs jahā tūn vasiā mērē sajan mīt murārē jīu .2.
Blessed is that land where You dwell, O my Friend and Intimate Divine Guru. ||2||
ਹਉ ਘੋਲੀ ਹਉ ਘੋਲਿ ਘੁਮਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਸਜਣ ਮੀਤ ਮੁਰਾਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
hau ghōlī hau ghōl ghumāī gur sajan mīt murārē jīu .1. rahāu .
I am a sacrifice, I am forever a sacrifice, to my Friend and Intimate Divine Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਇਕ ਘੜੀ ਨ ਮਿਲਤੇ ਤਾ ਕਲਿਜੁਗੁ ਹੋਤਾ ॥
ik gharī n milatē tā kalijug hōtā .
When I could not be with You for just one moment, the Dark Age of Kali Yuga dawned for me.
ਹੁਣਿ ਕਦਿ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਗਵੰਤਾ ॥
hun kad milīai pri tudh bhagavantā .
When will I meet You, O my Beloved Lord?
