ਮੋਹਿ ਰੈਣਿ ਨ ਵਿਹਾਵੈ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੇਖੇ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਬਾਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
mōh rain n vihāvai nīd n āvai bin dēkhē gur darabārē jīu .3.
I cannot endure the night, and sleep does not come, without the Sight of the Beloved Guru's Court. ||3||
ਹਉ ਘੋਲੀ ਜੀਉ ਘੋਲਿ ਘੁਮਾਈ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਬਾਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
hau ghōlī jīu ghōl ghumāī tis sachē gur darabārē jīu .1. rahāu .
I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to that True Court of the Beloved Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਭਾਗੁ ਹੋਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥
bhāg hōā gur sant milāiā .
By good fortune, I have met the Saint Guru.
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
prabh abināsī ghar mah pāiā .
I have found the Immortal Lord within the home of my own self.
ਸੇਵ ਕਰੀ ਪਲੁ ਚਸਾ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜਾ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥
sēv karī pal chasā n vishurā jan nānak dās tumārē jīu .4.
I will now serve You forever, and I shall never be separated from You, even for an instant. Servant Nanak is Your slave, O Beloved Master. ||4||
ਹਉ ਘੋਲੀ ਜੀਉ ਘੋਲਿ ਘੁਮਾਈ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥੧॥੮॥
hau ghōlī jīu ghōl ghumāī jan nānak dās tumārē jīu . rahāu .1.8.
I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice; servant Nanak is Your slave, Lord. ||Pause||1||8||

Raag Maajh, Fifth Mehl:
ਸਾ ਰੁਤਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਮਾਲੀ ॥
sā rut suhāvī jit tudh samālī .
Sweet is that season when I remember You.
ਸੋ ਕੰਮੁ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਘਾਲੀ ॥
sō kanm suhēlā jō tērī ghālī .
Sublime is that work which is done for You.
ਸੋ ਰਿਦਾ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਤੂੰ ਵੁਠਾ ਸਭਨਾ ਕੇ ਦਾਤਾਰਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
sō ridā suhēlā jit ridai tūn vuthā sabhanā kē dātārā jīu .1.
Blessed is that heart in which You dwell, O Giver of all. ||1||
ਤੂੰ ਸਾਝਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਬਾਪੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥
tūn sājhā sāhib bāp hamārā .
You are the Universal Father of all, O my Lord and Master.
ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਅਖੁਟ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥
nau nidh tērai akhut bhandārā .
Your nine treasures are an inexhaustible storehouse.
ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਭਗਤੁ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
jis tūn dēh s tripat aghāvai sōī bhagat tumārā jīu .2.
Those unto whom You give are satisfied and fulfilled; they become Your devotees, Lord. ||2||
ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਆਸੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਬੈਠਾ ॥
sabh kō āsai tērī baithā .
All place their hopes in You.
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਵੁਠਾ ॥
ghat ghat antar tūnhai vuthā .
You dwell deep within each and every heart.
ਸਭੇ ਸਾਝੀਵਾਲ ਸਦਾਇਨਿ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਦਿਸਹਿ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
sabhē sājhīvāl sadāin tūn kisai n disah bāharā jīu .3.
All share in Your Grace; none are beyond You. ||3||
ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਰਾਇਹਿ ॥
tūn āpē guramukh mukat karāih .
You Yourself liberate the Gurmukhs;
ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਭਵਾਇਹਿ ॥
tūn āpē manamukh janam bhavāih .
You Yourself consign the self-willed manmukhs to wander in reincarnation.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਸਭੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਦਸਾਹਰਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨॥੯॥
nānak dās tērai balihārai sabh tērā khēl dasāharā jīu .4.2.9.
Slave Nanak is a sacrifice to You; Your Entire Play is self-evident, Lord. ||4||2||9||
ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
mājh mahalā 5 .
Maajh, Fifth Mehl:
ਅਨਹਦੁ ਵਾਜੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ॥
anahad vājai sahaj suhēlā .
The Unstruck Melody resounds and resonates in peaceful ease.
ਸਬਦਿ ਅਨੰਦ ਕਰੇ ਸਦ ਕੇਲਾ ॥
sabad anand karē sad kēlā .
I rejoice in the eternal bliss of the Word of the Shabad.
ਸਹਜ ਗੁਫਾ ਮਹਿ ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਈ ਆਸਣੁ ਊਚ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
sahaj guphā mah tārī lāī āsan ūch savāriā jīu .1.
In the cave of intuitive wisdom I sit, absorbed in the silent trance of the Primal Void. I have obtained my seat in the heavens. ||1||
ਫਿਰਿ ਘਿਰਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
phir ghir apunē grih mah āiā .
After wandering through many other homes and houses, I have returned to my own home,
ਜੋ ਲੋੜੀਦਾ ਸੋਈ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
jō lōrīdā sōī pāiā .
and I have found what I was longing for.
ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਇ ਰਹਿਆ ਹੈ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਅਨਭਉ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦਿਖਾਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
tripat aghāi rahiā hai santah gur anabhau purakh dikhāriā jīu .2.
I am satisfied and fulfilled; O Saints, the Guru has shown me the Fearless Lord God. ||2||
ਆਪੇ ਰਾਜਨੁ ਆਪੇ ਲੋਗਾ ॥
āpē rājan āpē lōgā .
He Himself is the King, and He Himself is the people.
ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ਆਪੇ ਭੋਗਾ ॥
āp nirabānī āpē bhōgā .
He Himself is in Nirvaanaa, and He Himself indulges in pleasures.
ਆਪੇ ਤਖਤਿ ਬਹੈ ਸਚੁ ਨਿਆਈ ਸਭ ਚੂਕੀ ਕੂਕ ਪੁਕਾਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
āpē takhat bahai sach niāī sabh chūkī kūk pukāriā jīu .3.
He Himself sits on the throne of true justice, answering the cries and prayers of all. ||3||
ਜੇਹਾ ਡਿਠਾ ਮੈ ਤੇਹੋ ਕਹਿਆ ॥
jēhā dithā mai tēhō kahiā .
As I have seen Him, so have I described Him.
ਤਿਸੁ ਰਸੁ ਆਇਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਭੇਦੁ ਲਹਿਆ ॥
tis ras āiā jin bhēd lahiā .
This Sublime Essence comes only to one who knows the Mystery of the Lord.
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਕੁ ਪਸਾਰਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੦॥
jōtī jōt milī sukh pāiā jan nānak ik pasāriā jīu .4.3.10.
His light merges into the Light, and he finds peace. O servant Nanak, this is all the Extension of the One. ||4||3||10||
ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
mājh mahalā 5 .
Maajh, Fifth Mehl:
ਜਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਪਿਰਿ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ਬਣਾਇਆ ॥
jit ghar pir sōhāg banāiā .
That house, in which the soul-bride has married her Husband Lord
ਤਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਸਖੀਏ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
tit ghar sakhīē mangal gāiā .
-in that house, O my companions, sing the Songs of rejoicing.
ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਤਿਤੈ ਘਰਿ ਸੋਹਹਿ ਜੋ ਧਨ ਕੰਤਿ ਸਿਗਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
anad binōd titai ghar sōhah jō dhan kant sigārī jīu .1.
Joy and celebrations decorate that house, in which the Husband Lord has adorned His soul-bride. ||1||
ਸਾ ਗੁਣਵੰਤੀ ਸਾ ਵਡਭਾਗਣਿ ॥
sā gunavantī sā vadabhāgan .
She is virtuous, and she is very fortunate;
ਪੁਤ੍ਰਵੰਤੀ ਸੀਲਵੰਤਿ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ॥
putravantī sīlavant sōhāgan .
she is blessed with sons and tender-hearted. The happy soul-bride is loved by her Husband.
ਰੂਪਵੰਤਿ ਸਾ ਸੁਘੜਿ ਬਿਚਖਣਿ ਜੋ ਧਨ ਕੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
rūpavant sā sughar bichakhan jō dhan kant piārī jīu .2.
She is beautiful, wise, and clever. That soul-bride is the beloved of her Husband Lord. ||2||
ਅਚਾਰਵੰਤਿ ਸਾਈ ਪਰਧਾਨੇ ॥
achāravant sāī paradhānē .
She is well-mannered, noble and distinguished.
ਸਭ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਬਣੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਗਿਆਨੇ ॥
sabh singār banē tis giānē .
She is decorated and adorned with wisdom.
ਸਾ ਕੁਲਵੰਤੀ ਸਾ ਸਭਰਾਈ ਜੋ ਪਿਰਿ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
sā kulavantī sā sabharāī jō pir kai rang savārī jīu .3.
She is from a most respected family; she is the queen, adorned with the Love of her Husband Lord. ||3||
ਮਹਿਮਾ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਏ ॥
mahimā tis kī kahan n jāē .
Her glory cannot be described;
ਜੋ ਪਿਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਈ ਅੰਗਿ ਲਾਏ ॥
jō pir mēl laī ang lāē .
she melts in the Embrace of her Husband Lord.
