ਬਿਨਵੰਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰ ਦੇਇ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਰਾ ॥੪॥
binavant nānak kar dēi rākhah gōbind dīn daiārā .4.
Prays Nanak, please, give me Your Hand and save me, O Lord of the Universe, Merciful to the meek. ||4||
ਸੋ ਦਿਨੁ ਸਫਲੁ ਗਣਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
sō din saphal ganiā har prabhū milāiā rām .
That day is judged to be fruitful, when I merged with my Lord.
ਸਭਿ ਸੁਖ ਪਰਗਟਿਆ ਦੁਖ ਦੂਰਿ ਪਰਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
sabh sukh paragatiā dukh dūr parāiā rām .
Total happiness was revealed, and pain was taken far away.
ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਗੁਨ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਨਿਤ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
sukh sahaj anad binōd sad hī gun gupāl nit gāīai .
Peace, tranquility, joy and eternal happiness come from constantly singing the Glorious Praises of the Sustainer of the World.
ਭਜੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੇ ਮਿਲੇ ਰੰਗੇ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਜੋਨਿ ਨ ਧਾਈਐ ॥
bhaj sādhasangē milē rangē bahur jōn n dhāīai .
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I lovingly remember the Lord; I shall not wander again in reincarnation.
ਗਹਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਏ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ਆਦਿ ਅੰਕੁਰੁ ਆਇਆ ॥
gah kanth lāē sahaj subhāē ād ankur āiā .
He has naturally hugged me close in His Loving Embrace, and the seed of my primal destiny has sprouted.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਕਤਹੂ ਨ ਜਾਇਆ ॥੫॥੪॥੭॥
binavant nānak āp miliā bahur katahū n jāiā .5.4.7.
Prays Nanak, He Himself has met me, and He shall never again leave me. ||5||4||7||
ਬਿਹਾਗੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਛੰਤ ॥

ਸੁਨਹੁ ਬੇਨੰਤੀਆ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
sunah bēnantīā suāmī mērē rām .
Listen to my prayer, O my Lord and Master.
ਕੋਟਿ ਅਪ੍ਰਾਧ ਭਰੇ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਚੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
kōt aprādh bharē bhī tērē chērē rām .
I am filled with millions of sins, but still, I am Your slave.
ਦੁਖ ਹਰਨ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਨ ਮੋਹਨ ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸਹ ਭੰਜਨਾ ॥
dukh haran kirapā karan mōhan kal kalēsah bhanjanā .
O Destroyer of pain, Bestower of Mercy, Fascinating Lord, Destroyer of sorrow and strife,
ਸਰਨਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਰਬ ਮੈ ਨਿਰੰਜਨਾ ॥
saran tērī rakh lēh mērī sarab mai niranjanā .
I have come to Your Sanctuary; please preserve my honor. You are all-pervading, O Immaculate Lord.
ਸੁਨਤ ਪੇਖਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਭ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨੇਰਹੂ ਤੇ ਨੇਰੇ ॥
sunat pēkhat sang sabh kai prabh nērahū tē nērē .
He hears and beholds all; God is with us, the nearest of the near.
ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਨਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਘਰ ਕੇ ਚੇਰੇ ॥੧॥
aradās nānak sun suāmī rakh lēh ghar kē chērē .1.
O Lord and Master, hear Nanak's prayer; please save the servants of Your household. ||1||
ਤੂ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸਦਾ ਹਮ ਦੀਨ ਭੇਖਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
tū samarath sadā ham dīn bhēkhārī rām .
You are eternal and all-powerful; I am a mere beggar, Lord.
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਗਨੁ ਕਢਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
māiā mōh magan kadh lēh murārī rām .
I am intoxicated with the love of Maya - save me, Lord!
ਲੋਭਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਬਿਕਾਰਿ ਬਾਧਿਓ ਅਨਿਕ ਦੋਖ ਕਮਾਵਨੇ ॥
lōbh mōh bikār bādhiō anik dōkh kamāvanē .
Bound down by greed, emotional attachment and corruption, I have made so many mistakes.
ਅਲਿਪਤ ਬੰਧਨ ਰਹਤ ਕਰਤਾ ਕੀਆ ਅਪਨਾ ਪਾਵਨੇ ॥
alipat bandhan rahat karatā kīā apanā pāvanē .
The creator is both attached and detached from entanglements; one obtains the fruits of his own actions.
ਕਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਤੇ ਹਾਰੀ ॥
kar anugrah patit pāvan bah jōn bhramatē hārī .
Show kindness to me, O Purifier of sinners; I am so tired of wandering through reincarnation.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
binavant nānak dās har kā prabh jī prān adhārī .2.
Prays Nanak, I am the slave of the Lord; God is the Support of my soul, and my breath of life. ||2||
ਤੂ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਵਡਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਤਿ ਥੋਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
tū samarath vadā mērī mat thōrī rām .
You are great and all-powerful; my understanding is so inadequate, O Lord.
ਪਾਲਹਿ ਅਕਿਰਤਘਨਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
pālah akirataghanā pūran drisat tērī rām .
You cherish even the ungrateful ones; Your Glance of Grace is perfect, Lord.
ਅਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧਿ ਅਪਾਰ ਕਰਤੇ ਮੋਹਿ ਨੀਚੁ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ॥
agādh bōdh apār karatē mōh nīch kashū n jānā .
Your wisdom is unfathomable, O Infinite Creator. I am lowly, and I know nothing.
ਰਤਨੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਨ ਕਉਡੀ ਪਸੂ ਨੀਚੁ ਇਆਨਾ ॥
ratan tiāg sangrahan kaudī pasū nīch iānā .
Forsaking the jewel, I have saved the shell; I am a lowly, ignorant beast.
ਤਿਆਗਿ ਚਲਤੀ ਮਹਾ ਚੰਚਲਿ ਦੋਖ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਜੋਰੀ ॥
tiāg chalatī mahā chanchal dōkh kar kar jōrī .
I have kept that which forsakes me, and is very fickle, continually committing sins, again and again.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਸਮਰਥ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਮੋਰੀ ॥੩॥
nānak saran samarath suāmī paij rākhah mōrī .3.
Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary, Almighty Lord and Master; please, preserve my honor. ||3||
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਵੀਛੁੜਿਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
jā tē vīshuriā tin āp milāiā rām .
I was separated from Him, and now, He has united me with Himself.
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਮੇ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
sādhū sangamē har gun gāiā rām .
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਗੋਵਿਦ ਸਦਾ ਨੀਕੇ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਮੈ ਪਰਗਟ ਭਏ ॥
gun gāi gōvid sadā nīkē kaliān mai paragat bhaē .
Singing the Praises of the Lord of the Universe, the ever-sublime blissful Lord is revealed to me.
ਸੇਜਾ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਿ ਲਏ ॥
sējā suhāvī sang prabh kai āpanē prabh kar laē .
My bed is adorned with God; my God has made me His own.
ਛੋਡਿ ਚਿੰਤ ਅਚਿੰਤ ਹੋਏ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
shōd chint achint hōē bahur dūkh n pāiā .
Abandoning anxiety, I have become carefree, and I shall not suffer in pain any longer.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪੇਖਿ ਜੀਵੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਗਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੫॥੮॥
nānak darasan pēkh jīvē gōvind gun nidh gāiā .4.5.8.
Nanak lives by beholding the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe, the ocean of excellence. ||4||5||8||
ਬਿਹਾਗੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਛੰਤ ॥
bihāgarā mahalā 5 shant .
Bihaagraa, Fifth Mehl, Chhant:
ਬੋਲਿ ਸੁਧਰਮੀੜਿਆ ਮੋਨਿ ਕਤ ਧਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
bōl sudharamīriā mōn kat dhārī rām .
O you of sublime faith, chant the Lord's Name; why do you remain silent?
ਤੂ ਨੇਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇਖਿ ਚਲਿਆ ਮਾਇਆ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
tū nētrī dēkh chaliā māiā biuhārī rām .
with your eyes, you have seen the treacherous ways of Maya.
ਸੰਗਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਚਾਲੈ ਬਿਨਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨਾਮਾ ॥
sang tērai kash n chālai binā gōbind nāmā .
Nothing shall go along with you, except the Name of the Lord of the Universe.
ਦੇਸ ਵੇਸ ਸੁਵਰਨ ਰੂਪਾ ਸਗਲ ਊਣੇ ਕਾਮਾ ॥
dēs vēs suvaran rūpā sagal ūnē kāmā .
Land, clothes, gold and silver - all of these things are useless.
ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਹਸਤ ਘੋਰਿ ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ॥
putr kalatr n sang sōbhā hasat ghōr vikārī .
Children, spouse, worldly honors, elephants, horses and other corrupting influences shall not go with you.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਮ ਸਭ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
binavant nānak bin sādhasangam sabh mithiā sansārī .1.
Prays Nanak, without the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the whole world is false. ||1||
