ਰਾਖੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਜਗਦੀਸੁਰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਰਧਾ ਪੂਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥
rākh saran jagadīsur piārē mōh saradhā pūr har gusāī .
Keep me under Your Protection, O Beloved Master of the Universe; fulfill my faith, O Lord of the World.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਹੋਤ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਨਿਮਖ ਦਿਖਾਈ ॥੨॥੩੯॥੧੩॥੧੫॥੬੭॥
jan nānak kai man anad hōt hai har darasan nimakh dikhāī .2.39.13.15.67.
Servant Nanak's mind is filled with bliss, when he beholds the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan, even for an instant. ||2||39||13||15||67||

Raag Aasaa, Second House, Fifth Mehl:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik ōunkār satigur prasād .
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਜਿਨਿ ਲਾਈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸੋਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਖਾਇਆ ॥
jin lāī prīt sōī phir khāiā .
One who loves her, is ultimately devoured.
ਜਿਨਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਬੈਠਾਲੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਉ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥
jin sukh baithālī tis bhau bahut dikhāiā .
One who seats her in comfort, is totally terrified by her.
ਭਾਈ ਮੀਤ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਦੇਖਿ ਬਿਬਾਦੇ ॥
bhāī mīt kutanb dēkh bibādē .
Siblings, friends and family, beholding her, argue.
ਹਮ ਆਈ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੇ ॥੧॥
ham āī vasagat gur parasādē .1.
But she has come under my control, by Guru's Grace. ||1||
ਐਸਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਬਿਮੋਹਿਤ ਹੋਏ ॥
aisā dēkh bimōhit hōē .
Beholding her, all are bewitched:
ਸਾਧਿਕ ਸਿਧ ਸੁਰਦੇਵ ਮਨੁਖਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਭਿ ਧ੍ਰੋਹਨਿ ਧ੍ਰੋਹੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sādhik sidh suradēv manukhā bin sādhū sabh dhrōhan dhrōhē .1. rahāu .
the strivers, the Siddhas, the demi-gods, angels and mortals. All, except the Saadhus, are deceived by her deception. ||1||Pause||
ਇਕਿ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ ਕਾਮਿ ਵਿਆਪੈ ॥
ik phirah udāsī tinh kām viāpai .
Some wander around as renunciates, but they are engrossed in sexual desire.
ਇਕਿ ਸੰਚਹਿ ਗਿਰਹੀ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਆਪੈ ॥
ik sanchah girahī tinh hōi n āpai .
Some grow rich as householders, but she does not belong to them.
ਇਕਿ ਸਤੀ ਕਹਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਕਲਪਾਵੈ ॥
ik satī kahāvah tinh bahut kalapāvai .
Some call themselves men of charity, and she torments them terribly.
ਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਲਗਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
ham har rākhē lag satigur pāvai .2.
The Lord has saved me, by attaching me to the Feet of the True Guru. ||2||
ਤਪੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਤਪਸੀ ਭੂਲਾਏ ॥
tap karatē tapasī bhūlāē .
She leads astray the penitents who practice penance.
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮੋਹੇ ਲੋਭਿ ਸਬਾਏ ॥
pandit mōhē lōbh sabāē .
The scholarly Pandits are all seduced by greed.
ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਮੋਹੇ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਆਕਾਸੁ ॥
trai gun mōhē mōhiā ākās .
The world of the three qualities is enticed, and the heavens are enticed.
ਹਮ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਰਾਖੇ ਦੇ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਥੁ ॥੩॥
ham satigur rākhē dē kar hāth .3.
The True Guru has saved me, by giving me His Hand. ||3||
ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕੀ ਹੋਇ ਵਰਤੀ ਦਾਸਿ ॥
giānī kī hōi varatī dās .
She is the slave of those who are spiritually wise.
ਕਰ ਜੋੜੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੇ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
kar jōrē sēvā karē aradās .
With her palms pressed together, she serves them and offers her prayer:
ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਕਹਹਿ ਸੁ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਾ ॥
jō tūn kahah s kār kamāvā .
Whatever you wish, that is what I shall do.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵਾ ॥੪॥੧॥
jan nānak guramukh nēr n āvā .4.1.
O servant Nanak, she does not draw near to the Gurmukh. ||4||1||
ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
āsā mahalā 5 .
Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
ਸਸੂ ਤੇ ਪਿਰਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਵਾਖਿ ॥
sasū tē pir kīnī vākh .
I have been separated from my Beloved by Maya (my mother-in-law).
ਦੇਰ ਜਿਠਾਣੀ ਮੁਈ ਦੂਖਿ ਸੰਤਾਪਿ ॥
dēr jithānī muī dūkh santāp .
Hope and desire (my younger brother-in-law and sister-in-law) are dying of grief.
ਘਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਠੇਰੇ ਕੀ ਚੂਕੀ ਕਾਣਿ ॥
ghar kē jithērē kī chūkī kān .
I am no longer swayed by the fear of Death (my elder brother-in-law).
ਪਿਰਿ ਰਖਿਆ ਕੀਨੀ ਸੁਘੜ ਸੁਜਾਣਿ ॥੧॥
pir rakhiā kīnī sughar sujān .1.
I am protected by my All-knowing, Wise Husband Lord. ||1||
ਸੁਨਹੁ ਲੋਕਾ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
sunah lōkā mai prēm ras pāiā .
Listen, O people: I have tasted the elixir of love.
ਦੁਰਜਨ ਮਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
durajan mārē vairī sanghārē satigur mō kau har nām divāiā .1. rahāu .
The evil ones are dead, and my enemies are destroyed. The True Guru has given me the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਥਮੇ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
prathamē tiāgī haumai prīt .
First, I renounced my egotistical love of myself.
ਦੁਤੀਆ ਤਿਆਗੀ ਲੋਗਾ ਰੀਤਿ ॥
dutīā tiāgī lōgā rīt .
Second, I renounced the ways of the world.
ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਦੁਰਜਨ ਮੀਤ ਸਮਾਨੇ ॥
trai gun tiāg durajan mīt samānē .
Renouncing the three qualities, I look alike upon friend and enemy.
ਤੁਰੀਆ ਗੁਣੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧ ਪਛਾਨੇ ॥੨॥
turīā gun mil sādh pashānē .2.
And then, the fourth state of bliss was revealed to me by the Holy One. ||2||
ਸਹਜ ਗੁਫਾ ਮਹਿ ਆਸਣੁ ਬਾਧਿਆ ॥
sahaj guphā mah āsan bādhiā .
In the cave of celestial bliss, I have obtained a seat.
ਜੋਤਿ ਸਰੂਪ ਅਨਾਹਦੁ ਵਾਜਿਆ ॥
jōt sarūp anāhad vājiā .
The Lord of Light plays the unstruck melody of bliss.
ਮਹਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
mahā anand gur sabad vīchār .
I am in ecstasy, contemplating the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਸਿਉ ਰਾਤੀ ਧਨ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਨਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
pri siu rātī dhan sōhāgan nār .3.
Imbued with my Beloved Husband Lord, I am the blessed, happy soul-bride. ||3||
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬੋਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
jan nānak bōlē braham bīchār .
Servant Nanak chants the wisdom of God;
ਜੋ ਸੁਣੇ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਸੁ ਉਤਰੈ ਪਾਰਿ ॥
jō sunē kamāvai s utarai pār .
one who listens and practices it, is carried across and saved.
ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
janam n marai n āvai n jāi .
He is not born, and he does not die; he does not come or go.
ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਓਹੁ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੨॥
har sētī ōh rahai samāi .4.2.
He remains blended with the Lord. ||4||2||
ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
āsā mahalā 5 .
Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
ਨਿਜ ਭਗਤੀ ਸੀਲਵੰਤੀ ਨਾਰਿ ॥
nij bhagatī sīlavantī nār .
The bride shows such special devotion, and has such an agreeable disposition.
ਰੂਪਿ ਅਨੂਪ ਪੂਰੀ ਆਚਾਰਿ ॥
rūp anūp pūrī āchār .
Her beauty is incomparable, and her character is perfect.
ਜਿਤੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਵਸੈ ਸੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤਾ ॥
jit grih vasai sō grih sōbhāvantā .
The house in which she dwells is such a praiseworthy house.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈ ਕਿਨੈ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਜੰਤਾ ॥੧॥
guramukh pāī kinai viralai jantā .1.
But rare are those who, as Gurmukh, attain that state||1||
ਸੁਕਰਣੀ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਮ ਪਾਈ ॥
sukaranī kāman gur mil ham pāī .
As the soul-bride of pure actions, I have met with the Guru.
