ਜਾ ਕਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਇਆ ਕਰੇਹੀ ॥੨॥
jā kau satigur maiā karēhī .2.
when the True Guru shows His Kindness. ||2||
ਅਗਿਆਨ ਭਰਮੁ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਦੁਖ ਡੇਰਾ ॥
agiān bharam binasai dukh dērā .
The house of ignorance, doubt and pain is destroyed,
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਪੈਰਾ ॥੩॥
jā kai hridai basah gur pairā .3.
for those within whose hearts the Guru's Feet abide. ||3||
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
sādhasang rang prabh dhiāiā .
In the Saadh Sangat, lovingly meditate on God.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੪॥
kah nānak tin pūrā pāiā .4.4.
Says Nanak, you shall obtain the Perfect Lord. ||4||4||

Kaanraa, Fifth Mehl:
ਭਗਤਿ ਭਗਤਨ ਹੂੰ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥
bhagat bhagatan hūn ban āī .
Devotion is the natural quality of God's devotees.
ਤਨ ਮਨ ਗਲਤ ਭਏ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਸਿਉ ਆਪਨ ਲੀਏ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tan man galat bhaē thākur siu āpan līē milāī .1. rahāu .
Their bodies and minds are blended with their Lord and Master; He unites them with Himself. ||1||Pause||
ਗਾਵਨਹਾਰੀ ਗਾਵੈ ਗੀਤ ॥
gāvanahārī gāvai gīt .
The singer sings the songs,
ਤੇ ਉਧਰੇ ਬਸੇ ਜਿਹ ਚੀਤ ॥੧॥
tē udharē basē jih chīt .1.
but she alone is saved, within whose consciousness the Lord abides. ||1||
ਪੇਖੇ ਬਿੰਜਨ ਪਰੋਸਨਹਾਰੈ ॥
pēkhē binjan parōsanahārai .
The one who sets the table sees the food,
ਜਿਹ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਕੀਨੋ ਤੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਰੈ ॥੨॥
jih bhōjan kīnō tē tripatārai .2.
but only one who eats the food is satisfied. ||2||
ਅਨਿਕ ਸ੍ਵਾਂਗ ਕਾਛੇ ਭੇਖਧਾਰੀ ॥
anik svānhg kāshē bhēkhadhārī .
People disguise themselves with all sorts of costumes,
ਜੈਸੋ ਸਾ ਤੈਸੋ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
jaisō sā taisō drisatārī .3.
but in the end, they are seen as they truly are. ||3||
ਕਹਨ ਕਹਾਵਨ ਸਗਲ ਜੰਜਾਰ ॥
kahan kahāvan sagal janjār .
Speaking and talking are all just entanglements.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਚੁ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰ ॥੪॥੫॥
nānak dās sach karanī sār .4.5.
O slave Nanak, the true way of life is excellent. ||4||5||

ਤੇਰੋ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਨਤ ਉਮਾਹਿਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tērō jan har jas sunat umāhiō .1. rahāu .
Your humble servant listens to Your Praises with delight. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ਪੇਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਜਤ ਕਤ ਪੇਖਉ ਆਹਿਓ ॥੧॥
manah pragās pēkh prabh kī sōbhā jat kat pēkhau āhiō .1.
My mind is enlightened, gazing upon the Glory of God. Wherever I look, there He is. ||1||
ਸਭ ਤੇ ਪਰੈ ਪਰੈ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਅਥਾਹਿਓ ॥੨॥
sabh tē parai parai tē ūchā gahir ganbhīr athāhiō .2.
You are the farthest of all, the highest of the far, profound, unfathomable and unreachable. ||2||
ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਭਗਤਨ ਕਉ ਜਨ ਸਿਉ ਪਰਦਾ ਲਾਹਿਓ ॥੩॥
ōt pōt miliō bhagatan kau jan siu paradā lāhiō .3.
You are united with Your devotees, through and through; You have removed Your veil for Your humble servants. ||3||
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਗਾਵੈ ਗੁਣ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਸਮਾਹਿਓ ॥੪॥੬॥
gur prasād gāvai gun nānak sahaj samādh samāhiō .4.6.
By Guru's Grace, Nanak sings Your Glorious Praises; he is intuitively absorbed in Samaadhi. ||4||6||

ਸੰਤਨ ਪਹਿ ਆਪਿ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਆਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
santan pah āp udhāran āiō .1. rahāu .
I have come to the Saints to save myself. ||1||Pause||
ਦਰਸਨ ਭੇਟਤ ਹੋਤ ਪੁਨੀਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਓ ॥੧॥
darasan bhētat hōt punītā har har mantr drirāiō .1.
Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of their Darshan, I am sanctified; they have implanted the Mantra of the Lord, Har, Har, within me. ||1||
ਕਾਟੇ ਰੋਗ ਭਏ ਮਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਖਾਇਓ ॥੨॥
kātē rōg bhaē man niramal har har aukhadh khāiō .2.
The disease has been eradicated, and my mind has become immaculate. I have taken the healing medicine of the Lord, Har, Har. ||2||
ਅਸਥਿਤ ਭਏ ਬਸੇ ਸੁਖ ਥਾਨਾ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਧਾਇਓ ॥੩॥
asathit bhaē basē sukh thānā bahur n katahū dhāiō .3.
I have become steady and stable, and I dwell in the home of peace. I shall never again wander anywhere. ||3||
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤਰੇ ਕੁਲ ਲੋਗਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਲਿਪਤ ਨ ਮਾਇਓ ॥੪॥੭॥
sant prasād tarē kul lōgā nānak lipat n māiō .4.7.
By the Grace of the Saints, the people and all their generations are saved; O Nanak, they are not engrossed in Maya. ||4||7||

Kaanraa, Fifth Mehl:
ਬਿਸਰਿ ਗਈ ਸਭ ਤਾਤਿ ਪਰਾਈ ॥
bisar gaī sabh tāt parāī .
I have totally forgotten my jealousy of others,
ਜਬ ਤੇ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jab tē sādhasangat mōh pāī .1. rahāu .
since I found the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||Pause||
ਨਾ ਕੋ ਬੈਰੀ ਨਹੀ ਬਿਗਾਨਾ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਮ ਕਉ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥੧॥
nā kō bairī nahī bigānā sagal sang ham kau ban āī .1.
No one is my enemy, and no one is a stranger. I get along with everyone. ||1||
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀਨੋ ਸੋ ਭਲ ਮਾਨਿਓ ਏਹ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ॥੨॥
jō prabh kīnō sō bhal māniō ēh sumat sādhū tē pāī .2.
Whatever God does, I accept that as good. This is the sublime wisdom I have obtained from the Holy. ||2||
ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੈ ਪੇਖਿ ਪੇਖਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਗਸਾਈ ॥੩॥੮॥
sabh mah rav rahiā prabh ēkai pēkh pēkh nānak bigasāī .3.8.
The One God is pervading in all. Gazing upon Him, beholding Him, Nanak blossoms forth in happiness. ||3||8||

ਠਾਕੁਰ ਜੀਉ ਤੁਹਾਰੋ ਪਰਨਾ ॥
thākur jīu tuhārō paranā .
O my Dear Lord and Master, You alone are my Support.
ਮਾਨੁ ਮਹਤੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹਾਰੈ ਊਪਰਿ ਤੁਮ੍ਹਰੀ ਓਟ ਤੁਮ੍ਹਾਰੀ ਸਰਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mān mahat tumhārai ūpar tumharī ōt tumhārī saranā .1. rahāu .
You are my Honor and Glory; I seek Your Support, and Your Sanctuary. ||1||Pause||
ਤੁਮ੍ਹਰੀ ਆਸ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਤੁਮ੍ਹਰਾ ਤੁਮਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਲੈ ਧਰਨਾ ॥
tumharī ās bharōsā tumharā tumarā nām ridai lai dharanā .
You are my Hope, and You are my Faith. I take Your Name and enshrine it within my heart.
ਤੁਮਰੋ ਬਲੁ ਤੁਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ਜੋ ਜੋ ਕਹਹੁ ਸੋਈ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਨਾ ॥੧॥
tumarō bal tum sang suhēlē jō jō kahah sōī sōī karanā .1.
You are my Power; associating with You, I am embellished and exalted. I do whatever You say. ||1||
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਦਇਆ ਮਇਆ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਉ ਹੋਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਤ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਤਰਨਾ ॥
tumarī daiā maiā sukh pāvau hōh kripāl t bhaujal taranā .
Through Your Kindness and Compassion, I find peace; when You are Merciful, I cross over the terrifying world-ocean.
ਅਭੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਓ ਸਿਰੁ ਡਾਰਿਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਚਰਨਾ ॥੨॥੯॥
abhai dān nām har pāiō sir dāriō nānak sant charanā .2.9.
Through the Name of the Lord, I obtain the gift of fearlessness; Nanak places his head on the feet of the Saints. ||2||9||
