Kaanraa, Fifth Mehl:
ਸਾਧ ਸਰਨਿ ਚਰਨ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
sādh saran charan chit lāiā .
In the Sanctuary of the Holy, I focus my consciousness on the Lord's Feet.
ਸੁਪਨ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨੀ ਪੇਖੀ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
supan kī bāt sunī pēkhī supanā nām mantr satigurū drirāiā .1. rahāu .
When I was dreaming, I heard and saw only dream-objects. The True Guru has implanted the Mantra of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within me. ||1||Pause||
ਨਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਨੋ ਰਾਜ ਜੋਬਨਿ ਧਨਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਧਾਇਆ ॥
nah tripatānō rāj jōban dhan bahur bahur phir dhāiā .
Power, youth and wealth do not bring satisfaction; people chase after them again and again.
ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਸਭ ਬੁਝੀ ਹੈ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
sukh pāiā trisanā sabh bujhī hai sānht pāī gun gāiā .1.
I have found peace and tranquility, and all my thirsty desires have been quenched, singing His Glorious Praises. ||1||
ਬਿਨੁ ਬੂਝੇ ਪਸੂ ਕੀ ਨਿਆਈ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਬਿਆਪਿਓ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
bin būjhē pasū kī niāī bhram mōh biāpiō māiā .
Without understanding, they are like beasts, engrossed in doubt, emotional attachment and Maya.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਜਮ ਜੇਵਰੀ ਕਾਟੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੨॥੧੦॥
sādhasang jam jēvarī kātī nānak sahaj samāiā .2.10.
But in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the noose of Death is cut, O Nanak, and one intuitively merges in celestial peace. ||2||10||

Kaanraa, Fifth Mehl:
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਗਾਇ ॥
har kē charan hiradai gāi .
Sing of the Lord's Feet within your heart.
ਸੀਤਲਾ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਿਤ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sītalā sukh sānht mūrat simar simar nit dhiāi .1. rahāu .
Meditate, meditate in constant remembrance on God, the Embodiment of soothing peace and cooling tranquility. ||1||Pause||
ਸਗਲ ਆਸ ਹੋਤ ਪੂਰਨ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
sagal ās hōt pūran kōt janam dukh jāi .1.
All your hopes shall be fulfilled, and the pain of millions of deaths and births shall be gone. ||1||
ਪੁੰਨ ਦਾਨ ਅਨੇਕ ਕਿਰਿਆ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
punn dān anēk kiriā sādhū sang samāi .
Immerse yourself in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and you shall obtain the benefits of giving charitable gifts, and all sorts of good deeds.
ਤਾਪ ਸੰਤਾਪ ਮਿਟੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਾਹੁੜਿ ਕਾਲੁ ਨ ਖਾਇ ॥੨॥੧੧॥
tāp santāp mitē nānak bāhur kāl n khāi .2.11.
Sorrow and suffering shall be erased, O Nanak, and you shall never again be devoured by death. ||2||11||

Kaanraa, Fifth Mehl, Third House:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik ōunkār satigur prasād .
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਕਥੀਐ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥
kathīai santasang prabh giān .
Speak of God's Wisdom in the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation.
ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮ ਜੋਤਿ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
pūran param jōt paramēsur simarat pāīai mān .1. rahāu .
Meditating in remembrance on the Perfect Supreme Divine Light, the Transcendent Lord God, honor and glory are obtained. ||1||Pause||
ਆਵਤ ਜਾਤ ਰਹੇ ਸ੍ਰਮ ਨਾਸੇ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
āvat jāt rahē sram nāsē simarat sādhū sang .
One's comings and goings in reincarnation cease, and suffering is dispelled, meditating in remembrance in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਹੋਹਿ ਖਿਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੧॥
patit punīt hōh khin bhītar pārabraham kai rang .1.
Sinners are sanctified in an instant, in the love of the Supreme Lord God. ||1||
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਕਥੈ ਸੁਨੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਸ ॥
jō jō kathai sunai har kīratan tā kī duramat nās .
Whoever speaks and listens to the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises is rid of evil-mindedness.
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਆਸ ॥੨॥੧॥੧੨॥
sagal manōrath pāvai nānak pūran hōvai ās .2.1.12.
All hopes and desires, O Nanak, are fulfilled. ||2||1||12||

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮ ॥
sādhasangat nidh har kō nām .
The Treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is found in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਸੰਗਿ ਸਹਾਈ ਜੀਅ ਕੈ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sang sahāī jī kai kām .1. rahāu .
It is the Companion of the soul, its Helper and Support. ||1||Pause||
ਸੰਤ ਰੇਨੁ ਨਿਤਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਕਰੈ ॥
sant rēn nit majan karai .
Continually bathing in the dust of the feet of the Saints,
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਹਰੈ ॥੧॥
janam janam kē kilabikh harai .1.
the sins of countless incarnations are washed away. ||1||
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਊਚੀ ਬਾਨੀ ॥
sant janā kī ūchī bānī .
The words of the humble Saints are lofty and exalted.
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਤਰੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੩॥
simar simar tarē nānak prānī .2.2.13.
Meditating, meditating in remembrance, O Nanak, mortal beings are carried across and saved. ||2||2||13||

Kaanraa, Fifth Mehl:
ਸਾਧੂ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ॥
sādhū har harē gun gāi .
O Holy people, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Haray.
ਮਾਨ ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mān tan dhan prān prabh kē simarat dukh jāi .1. rahāu .
Mind, body, wealth and the breath of life - all come from God; remembering Him in meditation, pain is taken away. ||1||Pause||
ਈਤ ਊਤ ਕਹਾ ਲੋੁਭਾਵਹਿ ਏਕ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
īt ūt kahā lōbhāvah ēk siu man lāi .1.
Why are you entangled in this and that? Let your mind be attuned to the One. ||1||
ਮਹਾ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਤ ਆਸਨੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਗੋਬਿਦੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੨॥
mahā pavitr sant āsan mil sang gōbid dhiāi .2.
The place of the Saints is utterly sacred; meet with them, and meditate on the Lord of the Universe. ||2||
ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਸਰਨਿ ਆਇਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਲੇਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੩॥੩॥੧੪॥
sagal tiāg saran āiō nānak lēh milāi .3.3.14.
O Nanak, I have abandoned everything and come to Your Sanctuary. Please let me merge with You. ||3||3||14||

Kaanraa, Fifth Mehl:
ਪੇਖਿ ਪੇਖਿ ਬਿਗਸਾਉ ਸਾਜਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਨਾ ਇਕਾਂਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
pēkh pēkh bigasāu sājan prabh āpanā ikānht .1. rahāu .
Gazing upon and beholding my Best Friend, I blossom forth in bliss; my God is the One and Only. ||1||Pause||
ਆਨਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਨ ਨਾਹੀ ਭਾਂਤਿ ॥੧॥
ānadā sukh sahaj mūrat tis ān nāhī bhānht .1.
He is the Image of Ecstasy, Intuitive Peace and Poise. There is no other like Him. ||1||
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਇਕ ਬਾਰ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਟਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਕਸਮਲ ਜਾਂਤਿ ॥੨॥
simarat ik bār har har mit kōt kasamal jānht .2.
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, Har, Har, even once, millions of sins are erased. ||2||
