ਜਿਨਿ ਐਸਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਕੁਲਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਗਾਰੀ ॥
jin aisā nām visāriā mērā har har tis kai kul lāgī gārī .
One who forgets such a Name of the Lord, Har, Har - his family is dishonored.
ਹਰਿ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਕੁਲਿ ਪਰਸੂਤਿ ਨ ਕਰੀਅਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਧਵਾ ਕਰਿ ਮਹਤਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
har tis kai kul parasūt n karīah tis bidhavā kar mahatārī .2.
His family is sterile and barren, and his mother is made a widow. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਨਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਜਿਸੁ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
har har ān milāvah gur sādhū jis ahinis har ur dhārī .
O Lord, let me meet the Holy Guru, who night and day keep the Lord enshrined in his heart.
ਗੁਰਿ ਡੀਠੈ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਿਖੁ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਜਿਉ ਬਾਰਿਕੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਮਹਤਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
gur dīthai gur kā sikh bigasai jiu bārik dēkh mahatārī .3.
Seeing the Guru, the GurSikh blossoms forth, like the child seeing his mother. ||3||
ਧਨ ਪਿਰ ਕਾ ਇਕ ਹੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਭੀਤਿ ਕਰਾਰੀ ॥
dhan pir kā ik hī sang vāsā vich haumai bhīt karārī .
The soul-bride and the Husband Lord live together as one, but the hard wall of egotism has come between them.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਭੀਤਿ ਤੋਰੀ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲੇ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧॥
gur pūrai haumai bhīt tōrī jan nānak milē banavārī .4.1.
The Perfect Guru demolishes the wall of egotism; servant Nanak has met the Lord, the Lord of the World. ||4||1||

ਗੰਗਾ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਗੋਦਾਵਰੀ ਸਰਸੁਤੀ ਤੇ ਕਰਹਿ ਉਦਮੁ ਧੂਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਤਾਈ ॥
gangā jamunā gōdāvarī sarasutī tē karah udam dhūr sādhū kī tāī .
The Ganges, the Jamunaa, the Godaavari and the Saraswati - these rivers strive for the dust of the feet of the Holy.
ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਮੈਲੁ ਭਰੇ ਪਰੇ ਹਮਰੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਹਮਰੀ ਮੈਲੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੧॥
kilavikh mail bharē parē hamarai vich hamarī mail sādhū kī dhūr gavāī .1.
Overflowing with their filthy sins, the mortals take cleansing baths in them; the rivers' pollution is washed away by the dust of the feet of the Holy. ||1||
ਤੀਰਥਿ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਨਾਈ ॥
tīrath athasath majan nāī .
Instead of bathing at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage, take your cleansing bath in the Name.
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਪਰੀ ਉਡਿ ਨੇਤ੍ਰੀ ਸਭ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਗਵਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
satasangat kī dhūr parī ud nētrī sabh duramat mail gavāī .1. rahāu .
When the dust of the feet of the Sat Sangat rises up into the eyes, all filthy evil-mindedness is removed. ||1||Pause||
ਜਾਹਰਨਵੀ ਤਪੈ ਭਾਗੀਰਥਿ ਆਣੀ ਕੇਦਾਰੁ ਥਾਪਿਓ ਮਹਸਾਈ ॥
jāharanavī tapai bhāgīrath ānī kēdār thāpiō mahasāī .
Bhaageerat'h the penitent brought the Ganges down, and Shiva established Kaydaar.
ਕਾਂਸੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨੁ ਚਰਾਵਤ ਗਾਊ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਈ ॥੨॥
kānhsī krisan charāvat gāū mil har jan sōbhā pāī .2.
Krishna grazed cows in Kaashi; through the humble servant of the Lord, these places became famous. ||2||
ਜਿਤਨੇ ਤੀਰਥ ਦੇਵੀ ਥਾਪੇ ਸਭਿ ਤਿਤਨੇ ਲੋਚਹਿ ਧੂਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਤਾਈ ॥
jitanē tīrath dēvī thāpē sabh titanē lōchah dhūr sādhū kī tāī .
And all the sacred shrines of pilgrimage established by the gods, long for the dust of the feet of the Holy.
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਲੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਈ ॥੩॥
har kā sant milai gur sādhū lai tis kī dhūr mukh lāī .3.
Meeting with the Lord's Saint, the Holy Guru, I apply the dust of His feet to my face. ||3||
ਜਿਤਨੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਭ ਤਿਤਨੀ ਲੋਚੈ ਧੂਰਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਤਾਈ ॥
jitanī srisat tumarī mērē suāmī sabh titanī lōchai dhūr sādhū kī tāī .
And all the creatures of Your Universe, O my Lord and Master, long for the dust of the feet of the Holy.
ਨਾਨਕ ਲਿਲਾਟਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰਿ ਦੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਲੰਘਾਈ ॥੪॥੨॥
nānak lilāt hōvai jis likhiā tis sādhū dhūr dē har pār langhāī .4.2.
O Nanak, one who has such destiny inscribed on his forehead, is blessed with the dust of the feet of the Holy; the Lord carries him across. ||4||2||

Malaar, Fourth Mehl:
ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਮੀਠ ਲਗਾਨਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੈ ॥
tis jan kau har mīth lagānā jis har har kripā karai .
The Lord seems sweet to that humble being who is blessed by the Grace of the Lord.
ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਭੂਖ ਦੂਖ ਸਭਿ ਉਤਰੈ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਹਰਿ ਉਚਰੈ ॥੧॥
tis kī bhūkh dūkh sabh utarai jō har gun har ucharai .1.
His hunger and pain are totally taken away; he chants the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||
ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਸਤਰੈ ॥
jap man har har har nisatarai .
Meditating on the Lord, Har, Har, Har, the mortal is emancipated.
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਬਚਨ ਕਰਨ ਸੁਨਿ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur kē bachan karan sun dhiāvai bhav sāgar pār parai .1. rahāu .
One who listens to the Guru's Teachings and meditates on them, is carried across the terrifying world-ocean. ||1||Pause||
ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਹਮ ਹਾਟਿ ਬਿਹਾਝੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੈ ॥
tis jan kē ham hāt bihājhē jis har har kripā karai .
I am the slave of that humble being, who is blessed by the Grace of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਭ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਹਰੈ ॥੨॥
har jan kau miliānh sukh pāīai sabh duramat mail harai .2.
Meeting with the Lord's humble servant, peace is obtained; all the pollution and filth of evil-mindedness is washed away. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਭੂਖ ਲਗਾਨੀ ਜਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤੈ ਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਬਿਚਰੈ ॥
har jan kau har bhūkh lagānī jan tripatai jā har gun bicharai .
The humble servant of the Lord feels hunger only for the Lord. He is satisfied only when he chants the Lord's Glories.
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਲ ਕਾ ਮੀਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਫੂਟਿ ਮਰੈ ॥੩॥
har kā jan har jal kā mīnā har bisarat phūt marai .3.
The humble servant of the Lord is a fish in the Water of the Lord. Forgetting the Lord, he would dry up and die. ||3||
ਜਿਨਿ ਏਹ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਾਈ ਸੋ ਜਾਨੈ ਕੈ ਜਾਨੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਧਰੈ ॥
jin ēh prīt lāī sō jānai kai jānai jis man dharai .
He alone knows this love, who enshrines it within his mind.
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਸਭ ਤਨ ਕੀ ਭੂਖ ਟਰੈ ॥੪॥੩॥
jan nānak har dēkh sukh pāvai sabh tan kī bhūkh tarai .4.3.
Servant Nanak gazes upon the Lord and is at peace; The hunger of his body is totally satisfied. ||4||3||

ਜਿਤਨੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਨੇ ਤਿਤਨੇ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਾਰ ਲਿਖਾਵੈ ॥
jitanē jī jant prabh kīnē titanē sir kār likhāvai .
All the beings and creatures which God has created - on their foreheds, He has written their destiny.
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਨ੍ਹ ਵਡਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾਰੈ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
har jan kau har dīnh vadāī har jan har kārai lāvai .1.
The Lord blesses His humble servant with glorious greatness. The Lord enjoins him to his tasks. ||1||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਵੈ ॥
satigur har har nām drirāvai .
The True Guru implants the Naam, the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, within.
