ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਭਜੁ ਸਭ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟ ॥
mērē man har bhaj sabh kilabikh kāt .
O my mind, meditate, vibrate on the Lord, and all sins will be eradicated.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੀਸੁ ਕੀਜੈ ਗੁਰ ਵਾਟ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har ur dhāriō gur pūrai mērā sīs kījai gur vāt .1. rahāu .
The Guru has enshried the Lord, Har, Har, within my heart; I place my head on the Guru's Path. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਮੈ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੇਵਉ ਕਟਿ ਕਾਟ ॥
mērē har prabh kī mai bāt sunāvai tis man dēvau kat kāt .
Whoever tells me the stories of my Lord God, I would cut my mind into slices, and dedicate it to him.
ਹਰਿ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਮੇਲਿਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਬਿਕਾਨੋ ਹਟਿ ਹਾਟ ॥੧॥
har sājan mēliō gur pūrai gur bachan bikānō hat hāt .1.
The Perfect Guru has united me with the Lord, my Friend; I have sold myself at each and every store for the Guru's Word. ||1||
ਮਕਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਗਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਬਹੁ ਕੀਆ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਦੀਓ ਅਧ ਕਾਟਿ ॥
makar prāg dān bah kīā sarīr dīō adh kāt .
One may give donations in charity at Prayaag, and cut the body in two at Benares,
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਕੋ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਬਹੁ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਕਟਿ ਕਾਟ ॥੨॥
bin har nām kō mukat n pāvai bah kanchan dījai kat kāt .2.
but without the Lord's Name, no one attains liberation, even though one may give away huge amounts of gold. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਇਓ ਮਨਿ ਉਘਰੇ ਕਪਟ ਕਪਾਟ ॥
har kīrat guramat jas gāiō man ugharē kapat kapāt .
When one follows the Guru's Teachings, and sings the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, the doors of the mind, held shut by deception, are thrown open again.
ਤ੍ਰਿਕੁਟੀ ਫੋਰਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਭਾਗਾ ਲਜ ਭਾਨੀ ਮਟੁਕੀ ਮਾਟ ॥੩॥
trikutī phōr bharam bhau bhāgā laj bhānī matukī māt .3.
The three qualities are shattered, doubt and fear run away, and the clay pot of public opinion is broken. ||3||
ਕਲਜੁਗਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਤਿਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖੇ ਲਿਲਾਟ ॥
kalajug gur pūrā tin pāiā jin dhur masatak likhē lilāt .
They alone find the Perfect Guru in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, upon whose foreheads such pre-ordained destiny is inscribed.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਸੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਆ ਸਭ ਲਾਥੀ ਭੂਖ ਤਿਖਾਟ ॥੪॥੬॥
jan nānak ras anmrit pīā sabh lāthī bhūkh tikhāt .4.6.
Servant Nanak drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar; all his hunger and thirst are quenched. ||4||6||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਰੇ ਮਨ ਟਹਲ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰ ॥
rē man tahal har sukh sār .
O mind, true peace comes from serving the Lord.
ਅਵਰ ਟਹਲਾ ਝੂਠੀਆ ਨਿਤ ਕਰੈ ਜਮੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਮਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
avar tahalā jhūthīā nit karai jam sir mār .1. rahāu .
Other services are false, and as punishment for them, the Messenger of Death bashes in one's head. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨਾ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੀਖਿਆ ਤੇ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੰਗਾਰ ॥
jinā masatak līkhiā tē milē sangār .
They alone join the Sangat, the Congregation, upon whose forehead such destiny is inscribed.
ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਤਾਰਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਪੁਰਖ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੧॥
sansār bhaujal tāriā har sant purakh apār .1.
They are carried across the terrifying world-ocean by the Saints of the Infinite, Primal Lord God. ||1||
ਨਿਤ ਚਰਨ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਸਾਧ ਕੇ ਤਜਿ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥
nit charan sēvah sādh kē taj lōbh mōh bikār .
Serve forever at the feet of the Holy; renounce greed, emotional attachment and corruption.
ਸਭ ਤਜਹੁ ਦੂਜੀ ਆਸੜੀ ਰਖੁ ਆਸ ਇਕ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥੨॥
sabh tajah dūjī āsarī rakh ās ik nirankār .2.
Abandon all other hopes, and rest your hopes in the One Formless Lord. ||2||
ਇਕਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੂਲੇ ਸਾਕਤਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਅੰਧ ਅੰਧਾਰ ॥
ik bharam bhūlē sākatā bin gur andh andhār .
Some are faithless cynics, deluded by doubt; without the Guru, there is only pitch darkness.
ਧੁਰਿ ਹੋਵਨਾ ਸੁ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੋ ਨ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰ ॥੩॥
dhur hōvanā s hōiā kō n mētanahār .3.
Whatever is pre-ordained, comes to pass; no one can erase it. ||3||
ਅਗਮ ਰੂਪੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕਾ ਅਨਿਕ ਨਾਮ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
agam rūp gōbind kā anik nām apār .
The beauty of the Lord of the Universe is profound and unfathomable; the Names of the Infinite Lord are immunerable.
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰ ॥੪॥੧॥
dhan dhann tē jan nānakā jin har nāmā ur dhār .4.1.
Blessed, blessed are those humble beings, O Nanak, who enshrine the Lord's Name in their hearts. ||4||1||

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਕਉ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ॥
rām nām kau namasakār .
I humbly bow to the Name of the Lord.
ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਹੋਵਤ ਉਧਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jās japat hōvat udhār .1. rahāu .
Chanting it, one is saved. ||1||Pause||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਧੰਧ ॥
jā kai simaran mitah dhandh .
Meditating on Him in remembrance, conflicts are ended.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਛੂਟਹਿ ਬੰਧ ॥
jā kai simaran shūtah bandh .
Meditating on Him, one's bonds are untied.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਚਤੁਰ ॥
jā kai simaran mūrakh chatur .
Meditating on Him, the fool becomes wise.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕੁਲਹ ਉਧਰ ॥੧॥
jā kai simaran kulah udhar .1.
Meditating on Him, one's ancestors are saved. ||1||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਭਉ ਦੁਖ ਹਰੈ ॥
jā kai simaran bhau dukh harai .
Meditating on Him, fear and pain are taken away.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਅਪਦਾ ਟਰੈ ॥
jā kai simaran apadā tarai .
Meditating on Him, misfortune is avoided.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਮੁਚਤ ਪਾਪ ॥
jā kai simaran muchat pāp .
Meditating on Him, sins are erased.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਸੰਤਾਪ ॥੨॥
jā kai simaran nahī santāp .2.
Meditating on Him, agony is ended. ||2||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਰਿਦ ਬਿਗਾਸ ॥
jā kai simaran rid bigās .
Meditating on Him, the heart blossoms forth.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਵਲਾ ਦਾਸਿ ॥
jā kai simaran kavalā dās .
Meditating on Him, Maya becomes one's slave.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
jā kai simaran nidh nidhān .
Meditating on Him, one is blessed with the treasures of wealth.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਤਰੇ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥੩॥
jā kai simaran tarē nidān .3.
Meditating on Him, one crosses over in the end. ||3||
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰੀ ॥
patit pāvan nām harī .
The Name of the Lord is the Purifier of sinners.
ਕੋਟਿ ਭਗਤ ਉਧਾਰੁ ਕਰੀ ॥
kōt bhagat udhār karī .
It saves millions of devotees.
ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਾ ਦੀਨੁ ਸਰਨ ॥
har dās dāsā dīn saran .
I am meek; I seek the Sanctuary of the slaves of the Lord's slaves.
ਨਾਨਕ ਮਾਥਾ ਸੰਤ ਚਰਨ ॥੪॥੨॥
nānak māthā sant charan .4.2.
Nanak lays his forehead on the feet of the Saints. ||4||2||

This is the sort of helper the Name of the Lord is.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਭਜੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sādhasangat bhaj pūran kām .1. rahāu .
Meditating in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, one's affairs are perfectly resolved. ||1||Pause||
ਬੂਡਤ ਕਉ ਜੈਸੇ ਬੇੜੀ ਮਿਲਤ ॥
būdat kau jaisē bērī milat .
It is like a boat to a drowning man.
