Shalok, Third Mehl:
ਰਾਗਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਸ੍ਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਸਚਿ ਧਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
rāgā vich srīrāg hai jē sach dharē piār .
Among the ragas, Siree Raag is the best, if it inspires you to enshrine love for the True Lord.
ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਚੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਮਤਿ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥
sadā har sach man vasai nihachal mat apār .
The True Lord comes to abide forever in the mind, and your understanding becomes steady and unequalled.
ਰਤਨੁ ਅਮੋਲਕੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
ratan amōlak pāiā gur kā sabad bīchār .
The priceless jewel is obtained, by contemplating the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਜਿਹਵਾ ਸਚੀ ਮਨੁ ਸਚਾ ਸਚਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਅਕਾਰੁ ॥
jihavā sachī man sachā sachā sarīr akār .
The tongue becomes true, the mind becomes true, and the body becomes true as well.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਸਦਾ ਸਚੁ ਵਾਪਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
nānak sachai satigur sēviai sadā sach vāpār .1.
O Nanak, forever true are the dealings of those who serve the True Guru. ||1||

Third Mehl:
ਹੋਰੁ ਬਿਰਹਾ ਸਭ ਧਾਤੁ ਹੈ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
hōr birahā sabh dhāt hai jab lag sāhib prīt n hōi .
All other loves are transitory, as long as people do not love their Lord and Master.
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਵੇਖਣੁ ਸੁਨਣੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
ih man māiā mōhiā vēkhan sunan n hōi .
This mind is enticed by Maya-it cannot see or hear.
ਸਹ ਦੇਖੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਊਪਜੈ ਅੰਧਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
sah dēkhē bin prīt n ūpajai andhā kiā karēi .
Without seeing her Husband Lord, love does not well up; what can the blind person do?
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨਿ ਅਖੀ ਲੀਤੀਆ ਸੋਈ ਸਚਾ ਦੇਇ ॥੨॥
nānak jin akhī lītīā sōī sachā dēi .2.
O Nanak, the True One who takes away the eyes of spiritual wisdom-He alone can restore them. ||2||

Pauree:
ਹਰਿ ਇਕੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਇਕੁ ਇਕੋ ਦੀਬਾਣੁ ਹਰਿ ॥
har ikō karatā ik ikō dībān har .
The Lord alone is the One Creator; there is only the One Court of the Lord.
ਹਰਿ ਇਕਸੈ ਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਮਰੁ ਇਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਧਰਿ ॥
har ikasai dā hai amar ikō har chit dhar .
The One Lord's Command is the One and Only-enshrine the One Lord in your consciousness.
ਹਰਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹਿ ਡਰੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰਿ ॥
har tis bin kōī nāh dar bhram bhau dūr kar .
Without that Lord, there is no other at all. Remove your fear, doubt and dread.
ਹਰਿ ਤਿਸੈ ਨੋ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ਜਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਰਖੈ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਘਰਿ ॥
har tisai nō sālāh j tudh rakhai bāhar ghar .
Praise that Lord who protects you, inside your home, and outside as well.
ਹਰਿ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਭਉ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਤਰਿ ॥੧॥
har jis nō hōi daiāl sō har jap bhau bikham tar .1.
When that Lord becomes merciful, and one comes to chant the Lord's Name, one swims across the ocean of fear. ||1||

ਦਾਤੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸੰਦੀਆ ਕਿਆ ਚਲੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
dātī sāhib sandīā kiā chalai tis nāl .
The gifts belong to our Lord and Master; how can we compete with Him?
ਇਕ ਜਾਗੰਦੇ ਨਾ ਲਹੰਨਿ ਇਕਨਾ ਸੁਤਿਆ ਦੇਇ ਉਠਾਲਿ ॥੧॥
ik jāgandē nā lahann ikanā sutiā dēi uthāl .1.
Some remain awake and aware, and do not receive these gifts, while others are awakened from their sleep to be blessed. ||1||

ਸਿਦਕੁ ਸਬੂਰੀ ਸਾਦਿਕਾ ਸਬਰੁ ਤੋਸਾ ਮਲਾਇਕਾਂ ॥
sidak sabūrī sādikā sabar tōsā malāikānh .
Faith, contentment and tolerance are the food and provisions of the angels.
ਦੀਦਾਰੁ ਪੂਰੇ ਪਾਇਸਾ ਥਾਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਖਾਇਕਾ ॥੨॥
dīdār pūrē pāisā thāu nāhī khāikā .2.
They obtain the Perfect Vision of the Lord, while those who gossip find no place of rest. ||2||

ਸਭ ਆਪੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਉਪਾਇ ਕੈ ਆਪਿ ਕਾਰੈ ਲਾਈ ॥
sabh āpē tudh upāi kai āp kārai lāī .
You Yourself created all; You Yourself delegate the tasks.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਵੇਖਿ ਵਿਗਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
tūn āpē vēkh vigasadā āpanī vadiāī .
You Yourself are pleased, beholding Your Own Glorious Greatness.
ਹਰਿ ਤੁਧਹੁ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਚਾ ਸਾਈ ॥
har tudhah bāhar kish nāhī tūn sachā sāī .
O Lord, there is nothing at all beyond You. You are the True Lord.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਸਭਨੀ ਹੀ ਥਾਈ ॥
tūn āpē āp varatadā sabhanī hī thāī .
You Yourself are contained in all places.
ਹਰਿ ਤਿਸੈ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਹੁ ਜੋ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਈ ॥੨॥
har tisai dhiāvah sant janah jō laē shadāī .2.
Meditate on that Lord, O Saints; He shall rescue and save you. ||2||

ਫਕੜ ਜਾਤੀ ਫਕੜੁ ਨਾਉ ॥
phakar jātī phakar nāu .
Pride in social status is empty; pride in personal glory is useless.
ਸਭਨਾ ਜੀਆ ਇਕਾ ਛਾਉ ॥
sabhanā jīā ikā shāu .
The One Lord gives shade to all beings.
ਆਪਹੁ ਜੇ ਕੋ ਭਲਾ ਕਹਾਏ ॥
āpah jē kō bhalā kahāē .
You may call yourself good;
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਪਰੁ ਜਾਪੈ ਜਾ ਪਤਿ ਲੇਖੈ ਪਾਏ ॥੧॥
nānak tā par jāpai jā pat lēkhai pāē .1.
O Nanak, this will only be known when your honor is approved in God's Account. ||1||

mah 2 .
Second Mehl:
ਜਿਸੁ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਿਉ ਨੇਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਮਰਿ ਚਲੀਐ ॥
jis piārē siu nēh tis āgai mar chalīai .
Die before the one whom you love;
ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਜੀਵਣੁ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਪਾਛੈ ਜੀਵਣਾ ॥੨॥
dhrig jīvan sansār tā kai pāshai jīvanā .2.
to live after he dies is to live a worthless life in this world. ||2||

ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਸਾਜੀਐ ਚੰਦੁ ਸੂਰਜੁ ਦੁਇ ਦੀਵੇ ॥
tudh āpē dharatī sājīai chand sūraj dui dīvē .
You Yourself created the earth, and the two lamps of the sun and the moon.
ਦਸ ਚਾਰਿ ਹਟ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਵਾਪਾਰੁ ਕਰੀਵੇ ॥
das chār hat tudh sājiā vāpār karīvē .
You created the fourteen world-shops, in which Your Business is transacted.
ਇਕਨਾ ਨੋ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਭੁ ਦੇਇ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਥੀਵੇ ॥
ikanā nō har lābh dēi jō guramukh thīvē .
The Lord bestows His Profits on those who become Gurmukh.
ਤਿਨ ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ਨ ਵਿਆਪਈ ਜਿਨ ਸਚੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵੇ ॥
tin jamakāl n viāpaī jin sach anmrit pīvē .
The Messenger of Death does not touch those who drink in the True Ambrosial Nectar.
ਓਇ ਆਪਿ ਛੁਟੇ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਸਿਉ ਤਿਨ ਪਿਛੈ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਛੁਟੀਵੇ ॥੩॥
ōi āp shutē paravār siu tin pishai sabh jagat shutīvē .3.
They themselves are saved, along with their family, and all those who follow them are saved as well. ||3||

ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਵਸਿਆ ਸੋਇ ॥
kudarat kar kai vasiā sōi .
He created the Creative Power of the Universe, within which He dwells.
