Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:
ਅਪਨੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਬਿਸਾਰਹੁ ॥
apanē sēvak kau kabah n bisārah .
Never forget Your servant, O Lord.
ਉਰਿ ਲਾਗਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਬੀਚਾਰਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ur lāgah suāmī prabh mērē pūrab prīt gōbind bīchārah .1. rahāu .
Hug me close in Your embrace, O God, my Lord and Master; consider my primal love for You, O Lord of the Universe. ||1||Pause||
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹਾਰੋ ਹਮਰੇ ਦੋਖ ਰਿਦੈ ਮਤ ਧਾਰਹੁ ॥
patit pāvan prabh birad tumhārō hamarē dōkh ridai mat dhārah .
It is Your Natural Way, God, to purify sinners; please do not keep my errors in Your Heart.
ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਪਟਲੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਰਹੁ ॥੧॥
jīvan prān har dhan sukh tum hī haumai patal kripā kar jārah .1.
You are my life, my breath of life, O Lord, my wealth and peace; be merciful to me, and burn away the curtain of egotism. ||1||
ਜਲ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਮੀਨ ਕਤ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੂਧ ਬਿਨਾ ਰਹਨੁ ਕਤ ਬਾਰੋ ॥
jal bihūn mīn kat jīvan dūdh binā rahan kat bārō .
Without water, how can the fish survive? Without milk, how can the baby survive?
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਿਆਸ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲਨ੍ਹ ਕੀ ਪੇਖਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰੋ ॥੨॥੭॥੧੨੩॥
jan nānak piās charan kamalanh kī pēkh daras suāmī sukh sārō .2.7.123.
Servant Nanak thirsts for the Lord's Lotus Feet; gazing upon the Blessed Vision of his Lord and Master's Darshan, he finds the essence of peace. ||2||7||123||

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:
ਆਗੈ ਪਾਛੈ ਕੁਸਲੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
āgai pāshai kusal bhaiā .
Here, and hereafter, there is happiness.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਪੂਰੀ ਸਭ ਰਾਖੀ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਮਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur pūrai pūrī sabh rākhī pārabraham prabh kīnī maiā .1. rahāu .
The Perfect Guru has perfectly, totally saved me; the Supreme Lord God has been kind to me. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਸਗਲਾ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਇਆ ॥
man tan rav rahiā har prītam dūkh darad sagalā mit gaiā .
The Lord, my Beloved, is pervading and permeating my mind and body; all my pains and sufferings are dispelled.
ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜ ਆਨਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਦੂਤ ਦੁਸਟ ਸਭਿ ਹੋਏ ਖਇਆ ॥੧॥
sānht sahaj ānad gun gāē dūt dusat sabh hōē khaiā .1.
In celestial peace, tranquility and bliss, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord; my enemies and adversaries have been totally destroyed. ||1||
ਗੁਨੁ ਅਵਗੁਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਓ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਲਇਆ ॥
gun avagun prabh kash n bīchāriō kar kirapā apunā kar laiā .
God has not considered my merits and demerits; in His Mercy, He has made me His own.
ਅਤੁਲ ਬਡਾਈ ਅਚੁਤ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਉਚਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਜਇਆ ॥੨॥੮॥੧੨੪॥
atul badāī achut abināsī nānak ucharai har kī jaiā .2.8.124.
Unweighable is the greatness of the immovable and imperishable Lord; Nanak proclaims the victory of the Lord. ||2||8||124||

ਬਿਨੁ ਭੈ ਭਗਤੀ ਤਰਨੁ ਕੈਸੇ ॥
bin bhai bhagatī taran kaisē .
Without the Fear of God, and devotional worship, how can anyone cross over the world-ocean?
ਕਰਹੁ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਰਾਖੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪ ਭਰੋਸੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
karah anugrah patit udhāran rākh suāmī āp bharōsē .1. rahāu .
Be kind to me, O Saving Grace of sinners; preserve my faith in You, O my Lord and Master. ||1||Pause||
ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਆਵਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਮਦ ਮਾਵਤ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਰਾਤਾ ਸੁਆਨ ਜੈਸੇ ॥
simaran nahī āvat phirat mad māvat bikhiā rātā suān jaisē .
The mortal does not remember the Lord in meditation; he wanders around intoxicated by egotism; he is engrossed in corruption like a dog.
ਅਉਧ ਬਿਹਾਵਤ ਅਧਿਕ ਮੋਹਾਵਤ ਪਾਪ ਕਮਾਵਤ ਬੁਡੇ ਐਸੇ ॥੧॥
audh bihāvat adhik mōhāvat pāp kamāvat budē aisē .1.
Utterly cheated, his life is slipping away; committing sins, he is sinking away. ||1||
ਸਰਨਿ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਰਵਣੁ ਜੈਸੇ ॥
saran dukh bhanjan purakh niranjan sādhū sangat ravan jaisē .
I have come to Your Sanctuary, Destroyer of pain; O Primal Immaculate Lord, may I dwell upon You in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਕੇਸਵ ਕਲੇਸ ਨਾਸ ਅਘ ਖੰਡਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀਵਤ ਦਰਸ ਦਿਸੇ ॥੨॥੯॥੧੨੫॥
kēsav kalēs nās agh khandan nānak jīvat daras disē .2.9.125.
O Lord of beautiful hair, Destroyer of pain, Eradicator of sins, Nanak lives, gazing upon the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||2||9||125||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਆਪਹਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਏ ॥
āpah mēl laē .
He Himself merges us with Himself.
ਜਬ ਤੇ ਸਰਨਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਆਏ ਤਬ ਤੇ ਦੋਖ ਗਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jab tē saran tumārī āē tab tē dōkh gaē .1. rahāu .
When I came to Your Sanctuary, my sins vanished. ||1||Pause||
ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਅਰੁ ਚਿੰਤ ਬਿਰਾਨੀ ਸਾਧਹ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ॥
taj abhimān ar chint birānī sādhah saran paē .
Renouncing egotistical pride and other anxieties, I have sought the Sanctuary of the Holy Saints.
ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹਾਰੋ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਰੋਗ ਖਏ ॥੧॥
jap jap nām tumhārō prītam tan tē rōg khaē .1.
Chanting, meditating on Your Name, O my Beloved, disease is eradicated from my body. ||1||
ਮਹਾ ਮੁਗਧ ਅਜਾਨ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਰਾਖੇ ਧਾਰਿ ਦਏ ॥
mahā mugadh ajān agiānī rākhē dhār daē .
Even utterly foolish, ignorant and thoughtless persons have been saved by the Kind Lord.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਆਵਨ ਜਾਨ ਰਹੇ ॥੨॥੧॥੧੨੬॥
kah nānak gur pūrā bhētiō āvan jān rahē .2.1.126.
Says Nanak, I have met the Perfect Guru; my comings and goings have ended. ||2||1||126||

ਜੀਵਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਨੀ ॥
jīvau nām sunī .
Hearing Your Name, I live.
ਜਉ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤਬ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਸ ਪੁਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jau suprasann bhaē gur pūrē tab mērī ās punī .1. rahāu .
When the Perfect Guru became pleased with me, then my hopes were fulfilled. ||1||Pause||
ਪੀਰ ਗਈ ਬਾਧੀ ਮਨਿ ਧੀਰਾ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਅਨਦ ਧੁਨੀ ॥
pīr gaī bādhī man dhīrā mōhiō anad dhunī .
Pain is gone, and my mind is comforted; the music of bliss fascinates me.
ਉਪਜਿਓ ਚਾਉ ਮਿਲਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਰਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਖਿਨੀ ॥੧॥
upajiō chāu milan prabh prītam rahan n jāi khinī .1.
The yearning to meet my Beloved God has welled up within me. I cannot live without Him, even for an instant. ||1||
