ਜਿਉ ਧਰਤੀ ਸੋਭ ਕਰੇ ਜਲੁ ਬਰਸੈ ਤਿਉ ਸਿਖੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਬਿਗਸਾਈ ॥੧੬॥
jiu dharatī sōbh karē jal barasai tiu sikh gur mil bigasāī .16.
Just as the earth looks beautiful when the rain falls, so does the Sikh blossom forth meeting the Guru. ||16||
ਸੇਵਕ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਵਰਤਾ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਬਿਨਉ ਬੁਲਾਈ ॥੧੭॥
sēvak kā hōi sēvak varatā kar kar binau bulāī .17.
I long to be the servant of Your servants; I call upon You reverently in prayer. ||17||
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਗੁਰ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ॥੧੮॥
nānak kī bēnantī har pah gur mil gur sukh pāī .18.
Nanak offers this prayer to the Lord, that he may meet the Guru, and find peace. ||18||
ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਚੇਲਾ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰ ਵਿਚੁ ਦੇ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੧੯॥
tū āpē gur chēlā hai āpē gur vich dē tujhah dhiāī .19.
You Yourself are the Guru, and You Yourself are the chaylaa, the disciple; through the Guru, I meditate on You. ||19||
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸੋ ਤੂਹੈ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਸੇਵਕ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈ ॥੨੦॥
jō tudh sēvah sō tūhai hōvah tudh sēvak paij rakhāī .20.
Those who serve You, become You. You preserve the honor of Your servants. ||20||
ਭੰਡਾਰ ਭਰੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੇਵਾਈ ॥੨੧॥
bhandār bharē bhagatī har tērē jis bhāvai tis dēvāī .21.
O Lord, Your devotional worship is a treasure over-flowing. One who loves You, is blessed with it. ||21||
ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਏ ਹੋਰ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਸਭ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥੨੨॥
jis tūn dēh sōī jan pāē hōr nihaphal sabh chaturāī .22.
That humble being alone receives it, unto whom You bestow it. All other clever tricks are fruitless. ||22||
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਸੋਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਜਾਗਾਈ ॥੨੩॥
simar simar simar gur apunā sōiā man jāgāī .23.
Remembering, remembering, remembering my Guru in meditation, my sleeping mind is awakened. ||23||
ਇਕੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵੇਚਾਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸੁ ਕਰਾਈ ॥੨੪॥
ik dān mangai nānak vēchārā har dāsan dās karāī .24.
Poor Nanak begs for this one blessing, that he may become the slave of the slaves of the Lord. ||24||
ਜੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਝਿੜਕੇ ਤ ਮੀਠਾ ਲਾਗੈ ਜੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਤ ਗੁਰ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੨੫॥
jē gur jhirakē t mīthā lāgai jē bakhasē t gur vadiāī .25.
Even if the Guru rebukes me, He still seems very sweet to me. And if He actually forgives me, that is the Guru's greatness. ||25||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਸੋ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਏ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੨੬॥
guramukh bōlah sō thāi pāē manamukh kish thāi n pāī .26.
That which Gurmukh speaks is certified and approved. Whatever the self-willed manmukh says is not accepted. ||26||
ਪਾਲਾ ਕਕਰੁ ਵਰਫ ਵਰਸੈ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਗੁਰ ਦੇਖਣ ਜਾਈ ॥੨੭॥
pālā kakar varaph varasai gurasikh gur dēkhan jāī .27.
Even in the cold, the frost and the snow, the GurSikh still goes out to see his Guru. ||27||
ਸਭੁ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਦੇਖਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਅਖੀ ਗੁਰ ਪੈਰ ਧਰਾਈ ॥੨੮॥
sabh dinas rain dēkhau gur apunā vich akhī gur pair dharāī .28.
All day and night, I gaze upon my Guru; I install the Guru's Feet in my eyes. ||28||
ਅਨੇਕ ਉਪਾਵ ਕਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਗੁਰ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਈ ॥੨੯॥
anēk upāv karī gur kāran gur bhāvai sō thāi pāī .29.
I make so many efforts for the sake of the Guru; only that which pleases the Guru is accepted and approved. ||29||
ਰੈਣਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਅਰਾਧੀ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਈ ॥੩੦॥
rain dinas gur charan arādhī daiā karah mērē sāī .30.
Night and day, I worship the Guru's Feet in adoration; have Mercy upon me, O my Lord and Master. ||30||
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਈ ॥੩੧॥
nānak kā jīu pind gurū hai gur mil tripat aghāī .31.
The Guru is Nanak's body and soul; meeting the Guru, he is satisfied and satiated. ||31||
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਹੈ ਜਤ ਕਤ ਤਤ ਗੋਸਾਈ ॥੩੨॥੧॥
nānak kā prabh pūr rahiō hai jat kat tat gōsāī .32.1.
Nanak's God is perfectly permeating and all-pervading. Here and there and everywhere, the Lord of the Universe. ||32||1||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਚਾ ਨੇਹੁ ਲਾਇਆ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਆਪਣੈ ॥
andar sachā nēh lāiā prītam āpanai .
Deep within myself, I have enshrined true love for my Beloved.
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ਜਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਖਾ ਸਾਮ੍ਹਣੇ ॥੧॥
tan man hōi nihāl jā gur dēkhā sāmhanē .1.
My body and soul are in ecstasy; I see my Guru before me. ||1||
ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਹੁ ॥
mai har har nām visāh .
I have purchased the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur pūrē tē pāiā anmrit agam athāh .1. rahāu .
I have obtained the Inaccessible and Unfathomable Ambrosial Nectar from the Perfect Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਹਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਵੇਖਿ ਵਿਗਸੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਲਗਾ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
hau satigur vēkh vigasīā har nāmē lagā piār .
Gazing upon the True Guru, I blossom forth in ecstasy; I am in love with the Name of the Lord.
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਮੇਲਿਅਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥੨॥
kirapā kar kai mēlian pāiā mōkh duār .2.
Through His Mercy, the Lord has united me with Himself, and I have found the Door of Salvation. ||2||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਬਿਰਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਕਾ ਜੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੇਉ ॥
satigur birahī nām kā jē milai t tan man dēu .
The True Guru is the Lover of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. Meeting Him, I dedicate my body and mind to Him.
ਜੇ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਪੀਏਉ ॥੩॥
jē pūrab hōvai likhiā tā anmrit sahaj pīēu .3.
And if it is so pre-ordained, then I shall automatically drink in the Ambrosial Nectar. ||3||
ਸੁਤਿਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ ਉਠਦਿਆ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਆਲਾਉ ॥
sutiā gur sālāhīai uthadiā bhī gur ālāu .
Praise the Guru while you are asleep, and call on the Guru while you are up.
ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਹਉ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਧੋਵਾ ਪਾਉ ॥੪॥
kōī aisā guramukh jē milai hau tā kē dhōvā pāu .4.
If only I could meet such a Gurmukh; I would wash His Feet. ||4||
ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਸਜਣੁ ਲੋੜਿ ਲਹੁ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਦੇਇ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
kōī aisā sajan lōr lah mai prītam dēi milāi .
I long for such a Friend, to unite me with my Beloved.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥੫॥
satigur miliai har pāiā miliā sahaj subhāi .5.
Meeting the True Guru, I have found the Lord. He has met me, easily and effortlessly. ||5||
