ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਖੰਨੀਐ ਵੰਞਾ ਜਿਨ ਘਟਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਵੂਠਾ ॥੩॥
kah nānak tin khannīai vanñā jin ghat mērā har prabh vūthā .3.
Says Nanak, I am every bit a sacrifice to those, within whose hearts my Lord God abides. ||3||

Shalok:
ਜੋ ਲੋੜੀਦੇ ਰਾਮ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇਈ ਕਾਂਢਿਆ ॥
jō lōrīdē rām sēvak sēī kānhdhiā .
Those who long for the Lord, are said to be His servants.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾਣੇ ਸਤਿ ਸਾਂਈ ਸੰਤ ਨ ਬਾਹਰਾ ॥੧॥
nānak jānē sat sānhī sant n bāharā .1.
Nanak knows this Truth, that the Lord is not different from His Saint. ||1||

ਮਿਲਿ ਜਲੁ ਜਲਹਿ ਖਟਾਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
mil jal jalah khatānā rām .
As water mixes and blends with water,
ਸੰਗਿ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
sang jōtī jōt milānā rām .
so does one's light mix and blend with the Lord's Light.
ਸੰਮਾਇ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਰਤੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਹਿ ਜਾਣੀਐ ॥
sanmāi pūran purakh karatē āp āpah jānīai .
Merging with the perfect, all-powerful Creator, one comes to know his own self.
ਤਹ ਸੁੰਨਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਏਕੁ ਏਕੁ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ॥
tah sunn sahaj samādh lāgī ēk ēk vakhānīai .
Then, he enters the celestial state of absolute Samaadhi, and speaks of the One and Only Lord.
ਆਪਿ ਗੁਪਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਆਪੁ ਵਖਾਨਾ ॥
āp gupatā āp mukatā āp āp vakhānā .
He Himself is unmanifest, and He Himself is liberated; He Himself speaks of Himself.
ਨਾਨਕ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੈ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਜਲੁ ਜਲਹਿ ਖਟਾਨਾ ॥੪॥੨॥
nānak bhram bhai gun bināsē mil jal jalah khatānā .4.2.
O Nanak, doubt, fear and the limitations of the three qualities are dispelled, as one merges into the Lord, like water blending with water. ||4||2||
ਵਡਹੰਸੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
vadahans mahalā 5 .
Wadahans, Fifth Mehl:
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
prabh karan kāran samarathā rām .
God is the all-powerful Creator, the Cause of causes.
ਰਖੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਸਗਲ ਦੇ ਹਥਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
rakh jagat sagal dē hathā rām .
He preserves the whole world, reaching out with His hand.
ਸਮਰਥ ਸਰਣਾ ਜੋਗੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ॥
samarath saranā jōg suāmī kripā nidh sukhadātā .
He is the all-powerful, safe Sanctuary, Lord and Master, Treasure of mercy, Giver of peace.
ਹੰਉ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਿਨੀ ਏਕੁ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥
hanu kurabānī dās tērē jinī ēk pashātā .
I am a sacrifice to Your slaves, who recognize only the One Lord.
ਵਰਨੁ ਚਿਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਲਖਿਆ ਕਥਨ ਤੇ ਅਕਥਾ ॥
varan chihan n jāi lakhiā kathan tē akathā .
His color and shape cannot be seen; His description is indescribable.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥਾ ॥੧॥
binavant nānak sunah binatī prabh karan kāran samarathā .1.
Prays Nanak, hear my prayer, O God, Almighty Creator, Cause of causes. ||1||
ਏਹਿ ਜੀਅ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
ēh jī tērē tū karatā rām .
These beings are Yours; You are their Creator.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਹਰਤਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
prabh dūkh darad bhram haratā rām .
God is the Destroyer of pain, suffering and doubt.
ਭ੍ਰਮ ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੈਆਲਾ ॥
bhram dūkh darad nivār khin mah rakh lēh dīn daiālā .
Eliminate my doubt, pain and suffering in an instant, and preserve me, O Lord, Merciful to the meek.
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਆਮਿ ਸਜਣੁ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਬਾਲ ਗੋਪਾਲਾ ॥
māt pitā suām sajan sabh jagat bāl gōpālā .
You are mother, father and friend, O Lord and Master; the whole world is Your child, O Lord of the World.
ਜੋ ਸਰਣਿ ਆਵੈ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਮਰਤਾ ॥
jō saran āvai gun nidhān pāvai sō bahur janam n maratā .
One who comes seeking Your Sanctuary, obtains the treasure of virtue, and does not have to enter the cycle of birth and death again.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਭਿ ਜੀਅ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਕਰਤਾ ॥੨॥
binavant nānak dās tērā sabh jī tērē tū karatā .2.
Prays Nanak, I am Your slave. All beings are Yours; You are their Creator. ||2||
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਰਾਮ ॥
āth pahar har dhiāīai rām .
Meditating on the Lord, twenty-four hours a day,
ਮਨ ਇਛਿਅੜਾ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਰਾਮ ॥
man ishiarā phal pāīai rām .
the fruits of the heart's desires are obtained.
ਮਨ ਇਛ ਪਾਈਐ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਜਮ ਕੇ ਤ੍ਰਾਸਾ ॥
man ish pāīai prabh dhiāīai mitah jam kē trāsā .
Your heart's desires are obtained, meditating on God, and the fear of death is dispelled.
ਗੋਬਿਦੁ ਗਾਇਆ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਾਇਆ ਭਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾ ॥
gōbid gāiā sādh sangāiā bhaī pūran āsā .
I sing of the Lord of the Universe in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and my hopes are fulfilled.
ਤਜਿ ਮਾਨੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਸਗਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਈਐ ॥
taj mān mōh vikār sagalē prabhū kai man bhāīai .
Renouncing egotism, emotional attachment and all corruption, we become pleasing to the Mind of God.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣੀ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੩॥
binavant nānak dinas rainī sadā har har dhiāīai .3.
Prays Nanak, day and night, meditate forever on the Lord, Har, Har. ||3||
ਦਰਿ ਵਾਜਹਿ ਅਨਹਤ ਵਾਜੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
dar vājah anahat vājē rām .
At the Lord's Door, the unstruck melody resounds.
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਗਾਜੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
ghat ghat har gōbind gājē rām .
In each and every heart, the Lord, the Lord of the Universe, sings.
ਗੋਵਿਦ ਗਾਜੇ ਸਦਾ ਬਿਰਾਜੇ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਊਚਾ ॥
gōvid gājē sadā birājē agam agōchar ūchā .
The Lord of the Universe sings, and abides forever; He is unfathomable, profoundly deep, lofty and exalted.
ਗੁਣ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਪਹੂਚਾ ॥
gun bēant kish kahan n jāī kōi n sakai pahūchā .
His virtues are infinite - none of them can be described. No one can reach Him.
ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਸਾਜੇ ॥
āp upāē āp pratipālē jī jant sabh sājē .
He Himself creates, and He Himself sustains; all beings and creatures are fashioned by Him.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਰਿ ਵਜਹਿ ਅਨਹਦ ਵਾਜੇ ॥੪॥੩॥
binavant nānak sukh nām bhagatī dar vajah anahad vājē .4.3.
Prays Nanak, happiness comes from devotional worship of the Naam; at His Door, the unstruck melody resounds. ||4||3||

ਧੰਨੁ ਸਿਰੰਦਾ ਸਚਾ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਜਗੁ ਧੰਧੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
dhann sirandā sachā pātisāh jin jag dhandhai lāiā .
Blessed is the Creator, the True King, who has linked the whole world to its tasks.
ਮੁਹਲਤਿ ਪੁਨੀ ਪਾਈ ਭਰੀ ਜਾਨੀਅੜਾ ਘਤਿ ਚਲਾਇਆ ॥
muhalat punī pāī bharī jānīarā ghat chalāiā .
When one's time is up, and the measure is full, this dear soul is caught, and driven off.
