sabh din kē samarath panth bithulē hau bal bal jāu .
You are all-powerful, at all times; You show me the Way; I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to You.
ਗਾਵਨ ਭਾਵਨ ਸੰਤਨ ਤੋਰੈ ਚਰਨ ਉਵਾ ਕੈ ਪਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gāvan bhāvan santan tōrai charan uvā kai pāu .1. rahāu .
Your Saints sing to You with love; I fall at their feet. ||1||Pause||
ਜਾਸਨ ਬਾਸਨ ਸਹਜ ਕੇਲ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਮੈ ਏਕ ਅਨੰਤ ਅਨੂਪੈ ਠਾਉ ॥੧॥
jāsan bāsan sahaj kēl karunā mai ēk anant anūpai thāu .1.
O Praiseworthy Lord, Enjoyer of celestial peace, Embodiment of mercy, One Infinite Lord, Your place is so beautiful. ||1||
ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਕਰ ਤਲ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਨਾਥ ਅਨੇਕੈ ਨਾਉ ॥
ridh sidh nidh kar tal jagajīvan srab nāth anēkai nāu .
Riches, supernatural spiritual powers and wealth are in the palm of Your hand. O Lord, Life of the World, Master of all, infinite is Your Name.
ਦਇਆ ਮਇਆ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਸੁਨਿ ਸੁਨਿ ਜਸੁ ਜੀਵਾਉ ॥੨॥੧॥੩੮॥੬॥੪੪॥

This mind does not follow my advice one tiny bit.
ਸੀਖ ਸਿਖਾਇ ਰਹਿਓ ਅਪਨੀ ਸੀ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਤੇ ਨ ਟਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sīkh sikhāi rahiō apanī sī duramat tē n tarai .1. rahāu .
I am so tired of giving it instructions - it will not refrain from its evil-mindedness. ||1||Pause||
ਮਦਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੈ ਭਇਓ ਬਾਵਰੋ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਨਹਿ ਉਚਰੈ ॥
mad māiā kai bhaiō bāvarō har jas nah ucharai .
It has gone insane with the intoxication of Maya; it does not chant the Lord's Praise.
ਕਰਿ ਪਰਪੰਚੁ ਜਗਤ ਕਉ ਡਹਕੈ ਅਪਨੋ ਉਦਰੁ ਭਰੈ ॥੧॥
kar parapanch jagat kau dahakai apanō udar bharai .1.
Practicing deception, it tries to cheat the world, and so it fills its belly. ||1||
ਸੁਆਨ ਪੂਛ ਜਿਉ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਸੂਧੋ ਕਹਿਓ ਨ ਕਾਨ ਧਰੈ ॥
suān pūsh jiu hōi n sūdhō kahiō n kān dharai .
Like a dog's tail, it cannot be straightened; it will not listen to what I tell it.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਜੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਤ ਜਾ ਤੇ ਕਾਜੁ ਸਰੈ ॥੨॥੧॥
kah nānak bhaj rām nām nit jā tē kāj sarai .2.1.
Says Nanak, vibrate forever the Name of the Lord, and all your affairs shall be adjusted. ||2||1||

ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਜੀਵਤ ਕੋ ਬਿਵਹਾਰ ॥

All things are mere diversions of life:
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਭਾਈ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧਪ ਅਰੁ ਫੁਨਿ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੀ ਨਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
māt pitā bhāī sut bandhap ar phun grih kī nār .1. rahāu .
mother, father, siblings, children, relatives and the wife of your home. ||1||Pause||
ਤਨ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਹੋਤ ਜਬ ਨਿਆਰੇ ਟੇਰਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਤਿ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ॥
tan tē prān hōt jab niārē tērat prēt pukār .
When the soul is separated from the body, then they will cry out, calling you a ghost.
ਆਧ ਘਰੀ ਕੋਊ ਨਹਿ ਰਾਖੈ ਘਰ ਤੇ ਦੇਤ ਨਿਕਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
ādh gharī kōū nah rākhai ghar tē dēt nikār .1.
No one will let you stay, for even half an hour; they drive you out of the house. ||1||
ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਜਿਉ ਜਗ ਰਚਨਾ ਯਹ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਿਚਾਰਿ ॥
mrig trisanā jiu jag rachanā yah dēkhah ridai bichār .
The created world is like an illusion, a mirage - see this, and reflect upon it in your mind.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਜੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਤ ਜਾ ਤੇ ਹੋਤ ਉਧਾਰ ॥੨॥੨॥
kah nānak bhaj rām nām nit jā tē hōt udhār .2.2.
Says Nanak, vibrate forever the Name of the Lord, which shall deliver you. ||2||2||

ਜਗਤ ਮੈ ਝੂਠੀ ਦੇਖੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
jagat mai jhūthī dēkhī prīt .
In this world, I have seen love to be false.
ਅਪਨੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਸਿਉ ਸਭ ਲਾਗੇ ਕਿਆ ਦਾਰਾ ਕਿਆ ਮੀਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
apanē hī sukh siu sabh lāgē kiā dārā kiā mīt .1. rahāu .
Whether they are spouses or friends, all are concerned only with their own happiness. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਰਉ ਮੇਰਉ ਸਭੈ ਕਹਤ ਹੈ ਹਿਤ ਸਿਉ ਬਾਧਿਓ ਚੀਤ ॥
mērau mērau sabhai kahat hai hit siu bādhiō chīt .
All say, "Mine, mine", and attach their consciousness to you with love.
ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਸੰਗੀ ਨਹ ਕੋਊ ਇਹ ਅਚਰਜ ਹੈ ਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥
ant kāl sangī nah kōū ih acharaj hai rīt .1.
But at the very last moment, none shall go along with you. How strange are the ways of the world! ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੂਰਖ ਅਜਹੂ ਨਹ ਸਮਝਤ ਸਿਖ ਦੈ ਹਾਰਿਓ ਨੀਤ ॥
man mūrakh ajahū nah samajhat sikh dai hāriō nīt .
The foolish mind has not yet reformed itself, although I have grown weary of continually instructing it.
ਨਾਨਕ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰੈ ਜਉ ਗਾਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਗੀਤ ॥੨॥੩॥੬॥੩੮॥੪੭॥
nānak bhaujal pār parai jau gāvai prabh kē gīt .2.3.6.38.47.
O Nanak, one crosses over the terrifying world-ocean, singing the Songs of God. ||2||3||6||38||47||
