ਮੈ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਪੇਖਿਓ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਰੀ ਕੋਊ ॥
mai bah bidh pēkhiō dūjā nāhī rī kōū .
I have looked in so many ways, but there is no other like the Lord.
ਖੰਡ ਦੀਪ ਸਭ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਭ ਲੋਊ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
khand dīp sabh bhītar raviā pūr rahiō sabh lōū .1. rahāu .
On all the continents and islands, He is permeating and fully pervading; He is in all worlds. ||1||Pause||
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੰਮਾ ਕਵਨ ਮਹਿੰਮਾ ਮਨੁ ਜੀਵੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਸੋਊ ॥
agam aganmā kavan mahinmā man jīvai sun sōū .
He is the most unfathomable of the unfathomable; who can chant His Praises? My mind lives by hearing news of Him.
ਚਾਰਿ ਆਸਰਮ ਚਾਰਿ ਬਰੰਨਾ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਭਏ ਸੇਵਤੋਊ ॥੧॥
chār āsaram chār barannā mukat bhaē sēvatōū .1.
People in the four stages of life, and in the four social classes are liberated, by serving You, Lord. ||1||
ਗੁਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਦੁਤੀਅ ਗਏ ਸੁਖ ਹੋਊ ॥
gur sabad drirāiā param pad pāiā dutī gaē sukh hōū .
The Guru has implanted the Word of His Shabad within me; I have attained the supreme status. My sense of duality has been dispelled, and now, I am at peace.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ਸਹਜੋਊ ॥੨॥੨॥੩੩॥
kah nānak bhav sāgar tariā har nidh pāī sahajōū .2.2.33.
Says Nanak, I have easily crossed over the terrifying world-ocean, obtaining the treasure of the Lord's Name. ||2||2||33||

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਏਕੈ ਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੈ ਜਾਨ ॥
ēkai rē har ēkai jān .
Know that there is One and only One Lord.
ਏਕੈ ਰੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ēkai rē guramukh jān .1. rahāu .
O Gurmukh, know that He is One. ||1||Pause||
ਕਾਹੇ ਭ੍ਰਮਤ ਹਉ ਤੁਮ ਭ੍ਰਮਹੁ ਨ ਭਾਈ ਰਵਿਆ ਰੇ ਰਵਿਆ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਥਾਨ ॥੧॥
kāhē bhramat hau tum bhramah n bhāī raviā rē raviā srab thān .1.
Why are you wandering around? O Siblings of Destiny, don't wander around; He is permeating and pervading everywhere. ||1||
ਜਿਉ ਬੈਸੰਤਰੁ ਕਾਸਟ ਮਝਾਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੰਜਮ ਨਹੀ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਾਰਿ ॥
jiu baisantar kāsat majhār bin sanjam nahī kāraj sār .
As the fire in the forest, without control, cannot serve any purpose
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਨ ਪਾਵੈਗੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਕੋ ਦੁਆਰ ॥
bin gur n pāvaigō har jī kō duār .
- just so, without the Guru, one cannot attain the Gate of the Lord.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਏ ਹੈ ਪਰਮ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥੨॥੧॥੩੪॥
mil sangat taj abhimān kah nānak pāē hai param nidhān .2.1.34.
Joining the Society of the Saints, renounce your ego; says Nanak, in this way, the supreme treasure is obtained. ||2||1||34||

ਜਾਨੀ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਾਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jānī n jāī tā kī gāt .1. rahāu .
His state cannot be known. ||1||Pause||
ਕਹ ਪੇਖਾਰਉ ਹਉ ਕਰਿ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਬਿਸਮਨ ਬਿਸਮੇ ਕਹਨ ਕਹਾਤਿ ॥੧॥
kah pēkhārau hau kar chaturāī bisaman bisamē kahan kahāt .1.
How can I behold Him through clever tricks? Those who tell this story are wonder-struck and amazed. ||1||
ਗਣ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਸਿਧ ਅਰੁ ਸਾਧਿਕ ॥
gan gandharab sidh ar sādhik .
The servants of God, the celestial singers, the Siddhas and the seekers,
ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਦੇਵ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਦਿਕ ॥
sur nar dēv braham brahamādik .
the angelic and divine beings, Brahma and those like Brahma,
ਚਤੁਰ ਬੇਦ ਉਚਰਤ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
chatur bēd ucharat din rāt .
and the four Vedas proclaim, day and night,
ਅਗਮ ਅਗਮ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਆਗਾਧਿ ॥
agam agam thākur āgādh .
that the Lord and Master is inaccessible, unapproachable and unfathomable.
ਗੁਨ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਭਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਪਰੈ ਪਰਾਤਿ ॥੨॥੨॥੩੫॥
gun bēant bēant bhan nānak kahan n jāī parai parāt .2.2.35.
Endless, endless are His Glories, says Nanak; they cannot be described - they are beyond our reach. ||2||2||35||

ਧਿਆਏ ਗਾਏ ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰ ॥
dhiāē gāē karanaihār .
I meditate, and sing of the Creator Lord.
ਭਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਅਨਿਕ ਓਹੀ ਰੇ ਏਕ ਸਮਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhau nāhī sukh sahaj anandā anik ōhī rē ēk samār .1. rahāu .
I have become fearless, and I have found peace, poise and bliss, remembering the infinite Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਾਥੈ ॥
saphal mūrat gur mērai māthai .
The Guru, of the most fruitful image, has placed His hand upon my forehead.
ਜਤ ਕਤ ਪੇਖਉ ਤਤ ਤਤ ਸਾਥੈ ॥
jat kat pēkhau tat tat sāthai .
Wherever I look, there, I find Him with me.
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰ ॥੧॥
charan kamal mērē prān adhār .1.
The Lotus Feet of the Lord are the Support of my very breath of life. ||1||
ਸਮਰਥ ਅਥਾਹ ਬਡਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
samarath athāh badā prabh mērā .
My God is all-powerful, unfathomable and utterly vast.
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਨੇਰਾ ॥
ghat ghat antar sāhib nērā .
The Lord and Master is close at hand - He dwells in each and every heart.
ਤਾਕੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਆਸਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰ ॥੨॥੩॥੩੬॥
tākī saran āsar prabh nānak jā kā ant n pārāvār .2.3.36.
Nanak seeks the Sanctuary and the Support of God, who has no end or limitation. ||2||3||36||

ਉਲਟੀ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਉਲਟੀ ਰੇ ॥
ulatī rē man ulatī rē .
Turn away, O my mind, turn away.
ਸਾਕਤ ਸਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਉਲਟੀ ਰੇ ॥
sākat siu kar ulatī rē .
Turn away from the faithless cynic.
ਝੂਠੈ ਕੀ ਰੇ ਝੂਠੁ ਪਰੀਤਿ ਛੁਟਕੀ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਛੁਟਕੀ ਰੇ ਸਾਕਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਛੁਟਕੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jhūthai kī rē jhūth parīt shutakī rē man shutakī rē sākat sang n shutakī rē .1. rahāu .
False is the love of the false one; break the ties, O my mind, and your ties shall be broken. Break your ties with the faithless cynic. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਉ ਕਾਜਰ ਭਰਿ ਮੰਦਰੁ ਰਾਖਿਓ ਜੋ ਪੈਸੈ ਕਾਲੂਖੀ ਰੇ ॥
jiu kājar bhar mandar rākhiō jō paisai kālūkhī rē .
One who enters a house filled with soot is blackened.
ਦੂਰਹੁ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਭਾਗਿ ਗਇਓ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਛੁਟਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਕੁਟੀ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
dūrah hī tē bhāg gaiō hai jis gur mil shutakī trikutī rē .1.
Run far away from such people! One who meets the Guru escapes from the bondage of the three dispositions. ||1||
ਮਾਗਉ ਦਾਨੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੁਖੁ ਸਾਕਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਜੁਟਸੀ ਰੇ ॥
māgau dān kripāl kripā nidh mērā mukh sākat sang n jutasī rē .
I beg this blessing of You, O Merciful Lord, ocean of mercy - please, don't bring me face to face with the faithless cyincs.
