ਮਾਈ ਸੁਨਤ ਸੋਚ ਭੈ ਡਰਤ ॥
māī sunat sōch bhai darat .
O mother, I hear of death, and think of it, and I am filled with fear.
ਮੇਰ ਤੇਰ ਤਜਉ ਅਭਿਮਾਨਾ ਸਰਨਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੀ ਪਰਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mēr tēr tajau abhimānā saran suāmī kī parat .1. rahāu .
Renouncing 'mine and yours' and egotism, I have sought the Sanctuary of the Lord and Master. ||1||Pause||
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਕਹੈ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਮਾਨਉ ਨਾਹਿ ਨ ਕਾ ਬੋਲ ਕਰਤ ॥
jō jō kahai sōī bhal mānau nāh n kā bōl karat .
Whatever He says, I accept that as good. I do not say "No" to what He says.
ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਬਿਸਰਉ ਹੀਏ ਮੋਰੇ ਤੇ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਜਾਈ ਹਉ ਮਰਤ ॥੧॥
nimakh n bisarau hīē mōrē tē bisarat jāī hau marat .1.
Let me not forget Him, even for an instant; forgetting Him, I die. ||1||
ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਇਆਨਪ ਜਰਤ ॥
sukhadāī pūran prabh karatā mērī bahut iānap jarat .
The Giver of peace, God, the Perfect Creator, endures my great ignorance.
ਨਿਰਗੁਨਿ ਕਰੂਪਿ ਕੁਲਹੀਣ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਉ ਅਨਦ ਰੂਪ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਭਰਤ ॥੨॥੩॥
niragun karūp kulahīn nānak hau anad rūp suāmī bharat .2.3.
I am worthless, ugly and of low birth, O Nanak, but my Husband Lord is the embodiment of bliss. ||2||3||

ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਸਦਹੂੰ ॥
man har kīrat kar sadahūn .
O my mind, chant forever the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises.
ਗਾਵਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਜਪਤ ਉਧਾਰੈ ਬਰਨ ਅਬਰਨਾ ਸਭਹੂੰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gāvat sunat japat udhārai baran abaranā sabhahūn .1. rahāu .
By singing, hearing and meditating on Him, all, whether of high or low status, are saved. ||1||Pause||
ਜਹ ਤੇ ਉਪਜਿਓ ਤਹੀ ਸਮਾਇਓ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਨੀ ਤਬਹੂੰ ॥
jah tē upajiō tahī samāiō ih bidh jānī tabahūn .
He is absorbed into the One from which he originated, when he understands the Way.
ਜਹਾ ਜਹਾ ਇਹ ਦੇਹੀ ਧਾਰੀ ਰਹਨੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਕਬਹੂੰ ॥੧॥
jahā jahā ih dēhī dhārī rahan n pāiō kabahūn .1.
Wherever this body was fashioned, it was not allowed to remain there. ||1||
ਸੁਖੁ ਆਇਓ ਭੈ ਭਰਮ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਹੂਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਬਹੂ ॥
sukh āiō bhai bharam bināsē kripāl hūē prabh jabahū .
Peace comes, and fear and doubt are dispelled, when God becomes Merciful.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਤਜਿ ਲਬਹੂੰ ॥੨॥੪॥
kah nānak mērē pūrē manōrath sādhasang taj labahūn .2.4.
Says Nanak, my hopes have been fulfilled, renouncing my greed in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||2||4||

ਮਨ ਜਿਉ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵਉ ॥
man jiu apunē prabh bhāvau .
O my mind, act as it pleases God.
ਨੀਚਹੁ ਨੀਚੁ ਨੀਚੁ ਅਤਿ ਨਾਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇ ਗਰੀਬੁ ਬੁਲਾਵਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
nīchah nīch nīch at nānhā hōi garīb bulāvau .1. rahāu .
Become the lowest of the low, the very least of the tiny, and speak in utmost humility. ||1||Pause||
ਅਨਿਕ ਅਡੰਬਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਬਿਰਥੇ ਤਾ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਘਟਾਵਉ ॥
anik adanbar māiā kē birathē tā siu prīt ghatāvau .
The many ostentatious shows of Maya are useless; I withhold my love from these.
ਜਿਉ ਅਪੁਨੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਮਾਨੈ ਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਵਉ ॥੧॥
jiu apunō suāmī sukh mānai tā mah sōbhā pāvau .1.
As something pleases my Lord and Master, in that I find my glory. ||1||
ਦਾਸਨ ਦਾਸ ਰੇਣੁ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੀ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਟਹਲ ਕਮਾਵਉ ॥
dāsan dās rēn dāsan kī jan kī tahal kamāvau .
I am the slave of His slaves; becoming the dust of the feet of his slaves, I serve His humble servants.
ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਬਡਿਆਈ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀਵਉ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਬੁਲਾਵਉ ॥੨॥੫॥
sarab sūkh badiāī nānak jīvau mukhah bulāvau .2.5.
I obtain all peace and greatness, O Nanak, living to chant His Name with my mouth. ||2||5||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਤਉ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਡਾਰਿਓ ॥
prabh jī tau prasād bhram dāriō .
Dear God, by Your Grace, my doubts have been dispelled.
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਅਪਨਾ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਇਹੈ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tumarī kripā tē sabh kō apanā man mah ihai bīchāriō .1. rahāu .
By Your Mercy, all are mine; I reflect upon this in my mind. ||1||Pause||
ਕੋਟਿ ਪਰਾਧ ਮਿਟੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਉਤਾਰਿਓ ॥
kōt parādh mitē tērī sēvā darasan dūkh utāriō .
Millions of sins are erased, by serving You; the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan drives away sorrow.
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਮਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਬਿਦਾਰਿਓ ॥੧॥
nām japat mahā sukh pāiō chintā rōg bidāriō .1.
Chanting Your Name, I have obtained supreme peace, and my anxieties and diseases have been cast out. ||1||
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਿਸਾਰਿਓ ॥
kām krōdh lōbh jhūth nindā sādhū sang bisāriō .
Sexual desire, anger, greed, falsehood and slander are forgotten, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਮਾਇਆ ਬੰਧ ਕਾਟੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪਿ ਉਧਾਰਿਓ ॥੨॥੬॥
māiā bandh kātē kirapā nidh nānak āp udhāriō .2.6.
The ocean of mercy has cut away the bonds of Maya; O Nanak, He has saved me. ||2||6||

Dayv-Gandhaaree:
ਮਨ ਸਗਲ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਰਹੀ ॥
man sagal siānap rahī .
All the cleverness of my mind is gone.
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨਹਾਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਓਟ ਗਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
karan karāvanahār suāmī nānak ōt gahī .1. rahāu .
The Lord and Master is the Doer, the Cause of causes; Nanak holds tight to His Support. ||1||Pause||
ਆਪੁ ਮੇਟਿ ਪਏ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਇਹ ਮਤਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਕਹੀ ॥
āp mēt paē saranāī ih mat sādhū kahī .
Erasing my self-conceit, I have entered His Sanctuary; these are the Teachings spoken by the Holy Guru.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਮਾਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਭਰਮੁ ਅਧੇਰਾ ਲਹੀ ॥੧॥
prabh kī āgiā mān sukh pāiā bharam adhērā lahī .1.
Surrendering to the Will of God, I attain peace, and the darkness of doubt is dispelled. ||1||
ਜਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਅਹੀ ॥
jān prabīn suāmī prabh mērē saran tumārī ahī .
I know that You are all-wise, O God, my Lord and Master; I seek Your Sanctuary.
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਨਹਾਰੇ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕੀਮ ਨ ਪਹੀ ॥੨॥੭॥
khin mah thāp uthāpanahārē kudarat kīm n pahī .2.7.
In an instant, You establish and disestablish; the value of Your Almighty Creative Power cannot be estimated. ||2||7||

Dayv-Gandhaaree, Fifth Mehl:
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ॥
har prān prabhū sukhadātē .
The Lord God is my praanaa, my breath of life; He is the Giver of peace.
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਕਾਹੂ ਜਾਤੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur prasād kāhū jātē .1. rahāu .
By Guru's Grace, only a few know Him. ||1||Pause||
ਸੰਤ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਕਾਲ ਨ ਖਾਤੇ ॥
sant tumārē tumarē prītam tin kau kāl n khātē .
Your Saints are Your Beloveds; death does not consume them.
ਰੰਗਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੈ ਲਾਲ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿ ਮਾਤੇ ॥੧॥
rang tumārai lāl bhaē hai rām nām ras mātē .1.
They are dyed in the deep crimson color of Your Love, and they are intoxicated with the sublime essence of the Lord's Name. ||1||
