ਲੋਕਨ ਕੀ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਉਪਮਾ ਤੇ ਬੈਸੰਤਰਿ ਜਾਰਿ ॥
lōkan kī chaturāī upamā tē baisantar jār .
I have burnt in the fire the clever devices and praises of the world.
ਕੋਈ ਭਲਾ ਕਹਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਬੁਰਾ ਕਹਉ ਹਮ ਤਨੁ ਦੀਓ ਹੈ ਢਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
kōī bhalā kahau bhāvai burā kahau ham tan dīō hai dhār .1.
Some speak good of me, and some speak ill of me, but I have surrendered my body to You. ||1||
ਜੋ ਆਵਤ ਸਰਣਿ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
jō āvat saran thākur prabh tumarī tis rākhah kirapā dhār .
Whoever comes to Your Sanctuary, O God, Lord and Master, You save by Your Merciful Grace.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਲਾਜ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥੨॥੪॥
jan nānak saran tumārī har jīu rākhah lāj murār .2.4.
Servant Nanak has entered Your Sanctuary, Dear Lord; O Lord, please, protect his honor! ||2||4||

ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਹਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥
har gun gāvai hau tis balihārī .
I am a sacrifice to one who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਦੇਖਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਸਾਧ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dēkh dēkh jīvā sādh gur darasan jis hiradai nām murārī .1. rahāu .
I live by continuously beholding the Blessed Vision of the Holy Guru's Darshan; within His Mind is the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਤੁਮ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਾਵਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਮ ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਮਿਲਹ ਜੂਠਾਰੀ ॥
tum pavitr pāvan purakh prabh suāmī ham kiu kar milah jūthārī .
You are pure and immaculate, O God, Almighty Lord and Master; how can I, the impure one, meet You?
ਹਮਰੈ ਜੀਇ ਹੋਰੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਰੁ ਹੋਤ ਹੈ ਹਮ ਕਰਮਹੀਣ ਕੂੜਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥
hamarai jīi hōr mukh hōr hōt hai ham karamahīn kūriārī .1.
I have one thing in my mind, and another thing on my lips; I am such a poor, unfortunate liar! ||1||
ਹਮਰੀ ਮੁਦ੍ਰ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਦੁਸਟ ਦੁਸਟਾਰੀ ॥
hamarī mudr nām har suāmī rid antar dusat dusatārī .
I appear to chant the Lord's Name, but within my heart, I am the most wicked of the wicked.
ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਮ੍ਹਾਰੀ ॥੨॥੫॥
jiu bhāvai tiu rākhah suāmī jan nānak saran tumhārī .2.5.
As it pleases You, save me, O Lord and Master; servant Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary. ||2||5||

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਹੈ ਨਕਟੀ ॥
har kē nām binā sundar hai nakatī .
Without the Name of the Lord, the beautiful are just like the noseless ones.
ਜਿਉ ਬੇਸੁਆ ਕੇ ਘਰਿ ਪੂਤੁ ਜਮਤੁ ਹੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਿਓ ਹੈ ਧ੍ਰਕਟੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jiu bēsuā kē ghar pūt jamat hai tis nām pariō hai dhrakatī .1. rahāu .
Like the son, born into the house of a prostitute, his name is cursed. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੇ ਬਿਗੜ ਰੂਪ ਬੇਰਕਟੀ ॥
jin kai hiradai nāh har suāmī tē bigar rūp bērakatī .
Those who do not have the Name of their Lord and Master within their hearts, are the most wretched, deformed lepers.
ਜਿਉ ਨਿਗੁਰਾ ਬਹੁ ਬਾਤਾ ਜਾਣੈ ਓਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਹੈ ਭ੍ਰਸਟੀ ॥੧॥
jiu nigurā bah bātā jānai ōh har daragah hai bhrasatī .1.
Like the person who has no Guru, they may know many things, but they are cursed in the Court of the Lord. ||1||
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਿਨਾ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਪਗ ਚਕਟੀ ॥
jin kau daiāl hōā mērā suāmī tinā sādh janā pag chakatī .
Those, unto whom my Lord Master becomes Merciful, long for the feet of the Holy.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਵਿਤ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਛੈ ਛੁਕਟੀ ॥੨॥੬॥ ਛਕਾ ੧
nānak patit pavit mil sangat gur satigur pāshai shukatī .2.6. shakā 1
O Nanak, the sinners become pure, joining the Company of the Holy; following the Guru, the True Guru, they are emancipated. ||2||6|| First Set of Six||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਮਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਈਐ ॥
māī gur charanī chit lāīai .
O mother, I focus my consciousness on the Guru's feet.
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਕਮਲੁ ਪਰਗਾਸੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
prabh hōi kripāl kamal paragāsē sadā sadā har dhiāīai .1. rahāu .
As God shows His Mercy, the lotus of my heart blossoms, and forever and ever, I meditate on the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੁ ਸਮਾਈਐ ॥
antar ēkō bāhar ēkō sabh mah ēk samāīai .
The One Lord is within, and the One Lord is outside; the One Lord is contained in all.
ਘਟਿ ਅਵਘਟਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਸਭ ਠਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਦਿਖਾਈਐ ॥੧॥
ghat avaghat raviā sabh thāī har pūran braham dikhāīai .1.
Within the heart, beyond the heart, and in all places, God, the Perfect One, is seen to be permeating. ||1||
ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੇਵਕ ਮੁਨਿ ਕੇਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
usatat karah sēvak mun kētē tērā ant n katahū pāīai .
So many of Your servants and silent sages sing Your Praises, but no one has found Your limits.
ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੨॥੧॥
sukhadātē dukh bhanjan suāmī jan nānak sad bal jāīai .2.1.
O Giver of peace, Destroyer of pain, Lord and Master - servant Nanak is forever a sacrifice to You. ||2||1||
ਦੇਵਗੰਧਾਰੀ ॥

ਮਾਈ ਹੋਨਹਾਰ ਸੋ ਹੋਈਐ ॥
māī hōnahār sō hōīai .
O mother, whatever is to be, shall be.
ਰਾਚਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਰਚਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨੀ ਕਹਾ ਲਾਭੁ ਕਹਾ ਖੋਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
rāch rahiō rachanā prabh apanī kahā lābh kahā khōīai .1. rahāu .
God pervades His pervading creation; one gains, while another loses. ||1||Pause||
ਕਹ ਫੂਲਹਿ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਿਖੈ ਸੋਗ ਕਬ ਹਸਨੋ ਕਬ ਰੋਈਐ ॥
kah phūlah ānand bikhai sōg kab hasanō kab rōīai .
Sometimes he blossoms in bliss, while at other times, he suffers in mourning. Sometimes he laughs, and sometimes he weeps.
ਕਬਹੂ ਮੈਲੁ ਭਰੇ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ਕਬ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਧੋਈਐ ॥੧॥
kabahū mail bharē abhimānī kab sādhū sang dhōīai .1.
Sometimes he is filled with the filth of ego, while at other times, he washes it off in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||
ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਟੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ਦੂਸਰ ਨਾਹੀ ਅਲੋਈਐ ॥
kōi n mētai prabh kā kīā dūsar nāhī alōīai .
No one can erase the actions of God; I cannot see any other like Him.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਸੋਈਐ ॥੨॥੨॥
kah nānak tis gur balihārī jih prasād sukh sōīai .2.2.
Says Nanak, I am a sacrifice to the Guru; by His Grace, I sleep in peace. ||2||2||
