ਧੰਧਾ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਹਾਨੀ ਅਉਧਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਗਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dhandhā karat bihānī audhah gun nidh nām n gāiō .1. rahāu .
You have spent your life engaged in worldly pursuits; you have not sung the Glorious Praises of the treasure of the Naam. ||1||Pause||
ਕਉਡੀ ਕਉਡੀ ਜੋਰਤ ਕਪਟੇ ਅਨਿਕ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਧਾਇਓ ॥
kaudī kaudī jōrat kapatē anik jugat kar dhāiō .
Shell by shell, you accumulate money; in various ways, you work for this.
ਬਿਸਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇਤੇ ਦੁਖ ਗਨੀਅਹਿ ਮਹਾ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਖਾਇਓ ॥੧॥
bisarat prabh kētē dukh ganīah mahā mōhanī khāiō .1.
Forgetting God, you suffer awful pain beyond measure, and you are consumed by the Great Enticer, Maya. ||1||
ਕਰਹੁ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਗਨਹੁ ਨ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਮਾਇਓ ॥
karah anugrah suāmī mērē ganah n mōh kamāiō .
Show Mercy to me, O my Lord and Master, and do not hold me to account for my actions.
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਇਆਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਾਇਓ ॥੨॥੧੬॥੨੫॥
gōbind daiāl kripāl sukh sāgar nānak har saranāiō .2.16.25.
O merciful and compassionate Lord God, ocean of peace, Nanak has taken to Your Sanctuary, Lord. ||2||16||25||

Goojaree, Fifth Mehl:
ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਰਵੰਤ ॥
rasanā rām rām ravant .
With your tongue, chant the Lord's Name, Raam, Raam.
ਛੋਡਿ ਆਨ ਬਿਉਹਾਰ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਭਜੁ ਸਦਾ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
shōd ān biuhār mithiā bhaj sadā bhagavant .1. rahāu .
Renounce other false occupations, and vibrate forever on the Lord God. ||1||Pause||
ਨਾਮੁ ਏਕੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਭਗਤਾ ਈਤ ਆਗੈ ਟੇਕ ॥
nām ēk adhār bhagatā īt āgai tēk .
The One Name is the support of His devotees; in this world, and in the world hereafter, it is their anchor and support.
ਕਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੀਆ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਬੇਕ ॥੧॥
kar kripā gōbind dīā gur giān budh bibēk .1.
In His mercy and kindness, the Guru has given me the divine wisdom of God, and a discriminating intellect. ||1||
ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸੰਮ੍ਰਥ ਸ੍ਰੀਧਰ ਸਰਣਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਹੀ ॥
karan kāran sanmrath srīdhar saran tā kī gahī .
The all-powerful Lord is the Creator, the Cause of causes; He is the Master of wealth - I seek His Sanctuary.
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਰਵਾਲ ਸਾਧੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਲਹੀ ॥੨॥੧੭॥੨੬॥
mukat jugat ravāl sādhū nānak har nidh lahī .2.17.26.
Liberation and worldly success come from the dust of the feet of the Holy Saints; Nanak has obtained the Lord's treasure. ||2||17||26||

Give up all your clever tricks, and seek the Sanctuary of the Holy Saint.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥
pārabraham paramēsarō prabhū kē gun gāu .1.
Sing the Glorious Praises of the Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord. ||1||
ਰੇ ਚਿਤ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਅਰਾਧਿ ॥
rē chit charan kamal arādh .
O my consciousness, contemplate and adore the Lotus Feet of the Lord.
ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਿਟੈ ਸਗਲ ਉਪਾਧਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sarab sūkh kaliān pāvah mitai sagal upādh .1. rahāu .
You shall obtain total peace and salvation, and all troubles shall depart. ||1||Pause||
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਮੀਤ ਭਾਈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
māt pitā sut mīt bhāī tis binā nahī kōi .
Mother, father, children, friends and siblings - without the Lord, none of them are real.
ਈਤ ਊਤ ਜੀਅ ਨਾਲਿ ਸੰਗੀ ਸਰਬ ਰਵਿਆ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥
īt ūt jī nāl sangī sarab raviā sōi .2.
Here and hereafter, He is the companion of the soul; He is pervading everywhere. ||2||
ਕੋਟਿ ਜਤਨ ਉਪਾਵ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਕਾਮਿ ॥
kōt jatan upāv mithiā kash n āvai kām .
Millions of plans, tricks, and efforts are of no use, and serve no purpose.
ਸਰਣਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ॥੩॥
saran sādhū niramalā gat hōi prabh kai nām .3.
In the Sanctuary of the Holy, one becomes immaculate and pure, and obtains salvation, through the Name of God. ||3||
ਅਗਮ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਊਚਾ ਸਰਣਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਜੋਗੁ ॥
agam daiāl prabhū ūchā saran sādhū jōg .
God is profound and merciful, lofty and exalted; He gives Sanctuary to the Holy.
ਤਿਸੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ॥੪॥੧॥੨੭॥
tis parāpat nānakā jis likhiā dhur sanjōg .4.1.27.
He alone obtains the Lord, O Nanak, who is blessed with such pre-ordained destiny to meet Him. ||4||1||27||

ਆਪਨਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਰਮਹੁ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥
āpanā gur sēv sad hī ramah gun gōbind .
Serve your Guru forever, and chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਚਿੰਦ ॥੧॥
sās sās arādh har har lah jāi man kī chind .1.
With each and every breath, worship the Lord, Har, Har, in adoration, and the anxiety of your mind will be dispelled. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਾਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥
mērē man jāp prabh kā nāu .
O my mind, chant the Name of God.
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਿਲੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਥਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sūkh sahaj anand pāvah milī niramal thāu .1. rahāu .
You shall be blessed with peace, poise and pleasure, and you shall find the immaculate place. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਾਰਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਆਰਾਧਿ ॥
sādhasang udhār ih man āth pahar ārādh .
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, redeem your mind, and adore the Lord, twenty-four hours a day.
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਮਿਟੈ ਸਗਲ ਉਪਾਧਿ ॥੨॥
kām krōdh ahankār binasai mitai sagal upādh .2.
Sexual desire, anger and egotism will be dispelled, and all troubles shall end. ||2||
ਅਟਲ ਅਛੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਆਉ ॥
atal ashēd abhēd suāmī saran tā kī āu .
The Lord Master is immovable, immortal and inscrutable; seek His Sanctuary.
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਏਕ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਉ ॥੩॥
charan kamal arādh hiradai ēk siu liv lāu .3.
Worship in adoration the lotus feet of the Lord in your heart, and center your consciousness lovingly on Him alone. ||3||
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰੀ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੀਨ੍ਹੇ ਆਪਿ ॥
pārabraham prabh daiā dhārī bakhas līnhē āp .
The Supreme Lord God has shown mercy to me, and He Himself has forgiven me.
ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਪਿ ॥੪॥੨॥੨੮॥
sarab sukh har nām dīā nānak sō prabh jāp .4.2.28.
The Lord has given me His Name, the treasure of peace; O Nanak, meditate on that God. ||4||2||28||

ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਗਈ ਸੰਕਾ ਤੂਟਿ ॥
gur prasādī prabh dhiāiā gaī sankā tūt .
By Guru's Grace, I meditate on God, and my doubts are gone.
