ਨਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਚਰਣ ਗਹੇ ਤਾ ਕੇਹਾ ਕਾੜਾ ॥
nidh sidh charan gahē tā kēhā kārā .
Grasping the Lord's Feet, the treasure of the Siddhas, what suffering can I feel?
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਵਸਿ ਜਿਸੈ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਸਾੜਾ ॥
sabh kish vas jisai sō prabhū asārā .
Everything is in His Power - He is my God.
ਗਹਿ ਭੁਜਾ ਲੀਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀਨੇ ਕਰੁ ਧਾਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ॥
gah bhujā līnē nām dīnē kar dhār masatak rākhiā .
Holding me the the arm, He blesses me with His Name; placing His Hand upon my forehead, He saves me.
ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਨਹ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਅਮਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ॥
sansār sāgar nah viāpai amiu har ras chākhiā .
The world-ocean does not trouble me, for I have drunk the sublime elixir of the Lord.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗੇ ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਣੁ ਜੀਤਿ ਵਡਾ ਅਖਾੜਾ ॥
sādhasangē nām rangē ran jīt vadā akhārā .
In the Saadh Sangat, imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord, I am victorious on the great battlefield of life.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਜਮਿ ਨ ਉਪਾੜਾ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੨॥
binavant nānak saran suāmī bahur jam n upārā .4.3.12.
Prays Nanak, I have entered the Sanctuary of the Lord and Master; the Messenger of Death shall not destroy me again. ||4||3||12||
ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
āsā mahalā 5 .
Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ਕਮਾਇਅੜੋ ਸੋ ਆਇਓ ਮਾਥੈ ॥
din rāt kamāiarō sō āiō māthai .
Those actions you perform, day and night, are recorded upon your forehead.
ਜਿਸੁ ਪਾਸਿ ਲੁਕਾਇਦੜੋ ਸੋ ਵੇਖੀ ਸਾਥੈ ॥
jis pās lukāidarō sō vēkhī sāthai .
And the One, from whom you hide these actions - He sees them, and is always with you.
ਸੰਗਿ ਦੇਖੈ ਕਰਣਹਾਰਾ ਕਾਇ ਪਾਪੁ ਕਮਾਈਐ ॥
sang dēkhai karanahārā kāi pāp kamāīai .
The Creator Lord is with you; He sees you, so why commit sins?
ਸੁਕ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਕੀਜੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੀਜੈ ਨਰਕਿ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
sukrit kījai nām lījai narak mūl n jāīai .
So perform good deeds, and chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord; you shall never have to go to hell.
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਚਲੈ ਤੇਰੈ ਸਾਥੇ ॥
āth pahar har nām simarah chalai tērai sāthē .
Twenty-four hours a day, dwell upon the Lord's Name in meditation; it alone shall go along with you.
ਭਜੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਦੋਖ ਕਮਾਤੇ ॥੧॥
bhaj sādhasangat sadā nānak mitah dōkh kamātē .1.
So vibrate continually in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, O Nanak, and the sins you committed shall be erased. ||1||
ਵਲਵੰਚ ਕਰਿ ਉਦਰੁ ਭਰਹਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਗਾਵਾਰਾ ॥
valavanch kar udar bharah mūrakh gāvārā .
Practicing deceit, you fill your belly, you ignorant fool!
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
sabh kish dē rahiā har dēvanahārā .
The Lord, the Great Giver, continues to give you everything.
ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਾਇ ਮਨਹੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ॥
dātār sadā daiāl suāmī kāi manah visārīai .
The Great Giver is always merciful. Why should we forget the Lord Master from our minds?
ਮਿਲੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੇ ਭਜੁ ਨਿਸੰਗੇ ਕੁਲ ਸਮੂਹਾ ਤਾਰੀਐ ॥
mil sādhasangē bhaj nisangē kul samūhā tārīai .
Join the Saadh Sangat, and vibrate fearlessly; all your relations shall be saved.
ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਦੇਵ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਭਗਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥
sidh sādhik dēv mun jan bhagat nām adhārā .
The Siddhas, the seekers, the demi-gods, the silent sages and the devotees, all take the Naam as their support.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਭਜੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
binavant nānak sadā bhajīai prabh ēk karanaihārā .2.
Prays Nanak, vibrate continually upon God, the One Creator Lord. ||2||
ਖੋਟੁ ਨ ਕੀਚਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਰਖਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
khōt n kīchaī prabh parakhanahārā .
Do not practice deception - God is the Assayer of all.
ਕੂੜੁ ਕਪਟੁ ਕਮਾਵਦੜੇ ਜਨਮਹਿ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
kūr kapat kamāvadarē janamah sansārā .
Those who practice falsehood and deceit are reincarnated in the world.
ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਿਨ੍ਹੀ ਤਰਿਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹੀ ਏਕੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
sansār sāgar tinhī tariā jinhī ēk dhiāiā .
Those who meditate on the One Lord, cross over the world-ocean.
ਤਜਿ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਅਨਿੰਦ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਆਇਆ ॥
taj kām krōdh anind nindā prabh saranāī āiā .
Renouncing sexual desire, anger, flattery and slander, they enter the Sanctuary of God.
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਊਚ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
jal thal mahīal raviā suāmī ūch agam apārā .
The lofty, inaccessible and infinite Lord and Master is pervading the water, the land and the sky.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਟੇਕ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥੩॥
binavant nānak tēk jan kī charan kamal adhārā .3.
Prays Nanak, He is the support of His servants; His Lotus Feet are their only sustenance. ||3||
ਪੇਖੁ ਹਰਿਚੰਦਉਰੜੀ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
pēkh harichandaurarī asathir kish nāhī .
Behold - the world is a mirage; nothing here is permanent.
ਮਾਇਆ ਰੰਗ ਜੇਤੇ ਸੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਜਾਹੀ ॥
māiā rang jētē sē sang n jāhī .
The pleasures of Maya which are here, shall not go with you.
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਥੀ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੈ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਸਮਾਲੀਐ ॥
har sang sāthī sadā tērai dinas rain samālīai .
The Lord, your companion, is always with you; remember Him day and night.
ਹਰਿ ਏਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਛੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਭਾਉ ਦੁਤੀਆ ਜਾਲੀਐ ॥
har ēk bin kash avar nāhī bhāu dutīā jālīai .
Without the One Lord, there is no other; burn away the love of duality.
ਮੀਤੁ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਮਾਲੁ ਸਰਬਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
mīt jōban māl sarabas prabh ēk kar man māhī .
Know in your mind, that the One God is your friend, youth, wealth and everything.
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਡਭਾਗਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਸੂਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੩॥
binavant nānak vadabhāg pāīai sūkh sahaj samāhī .4.4.13.
Prays Nanak, by great good fortune, we find the Lord, and merge in peace and celestial poise. ||4||4||13||

ਕਮਲਾ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੀਤਿ ਕਮਲਾ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੀਤਿ ਹੇ ਤੀਖਣ ਮਦ ਬਿਪਰੀਤਿ ਹੇ ਅਵਧ ਅਕਾਰਥ ਜਾਤ ॥
kamalā bhram bhīt kamalā bhram bhīt hē tīkhan mad biparīt hē avadh akārath jāt .
Maya is the wall of doubt - Maya is the wall of doubt. It is such a powerful and destructive intoxicant; it corrupts and wastes away one's life.
ਗਹਬਰ ਬਨ ਘੋਰ ਗਹਬਰ ਬਨ ਘੋਰ ਹੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਮੂਸਤ ਮਨ ਚੋਰ ਹੇ ਦਿਨਕਰੋ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਖਾਤ ॥
gahabar ban ghōr gahabar ban ghōr hē grih mūsat man chōr hē dinakarō anadin khāt .
In the terrible, impenetrable world-forest - in the terrible, impenetrable world-forest, the thieves are plundering man's house in broad daylight; night and day, this life is being consumed.
ਦਿਨ ਖਾਤ ਜਾਤ ਬਿਹਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਪਤੇ ॥
din khāt jāt bihāt prabh bin milah prabh karunā patē .
The days of your life are being consumed; they are passing away without God. So meet God, the Merciful Lord.
