ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ਮਸਕਤੇ ਤੂਠੈ ਪਾਵਾ ਦੇਵ ॥
sādhū sang masakatē tūthai pāvā dēv .
The opportunity to work hard serving the Saadh Sangat is obtained, when the Divine Lord is pleased.
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਸਾਹਿਬੈ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਣ ਕਰੇਵ ॥
sabh kish vasagat sāhibai āpē karan karēv .
Everything is in the Hands of our Lord and Master; He Himself is the Doer of deeds.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ ਮਨਸਾ ਸਭ ਪੂਰੇਵ ॥੩॥
satigur kai balihāranai manasā sabh pūrēv .3.
I am a sacrifice to the True Guru, who fulfills all hopes and desires. ||3||
ਇਕੋ ਦਿਸੈ ਸਜਣੋ ਇਕੋ ਭਾਈ ਮੀਤੁ ॥
ikō disai sajanō ikō bhāī mīt .
The One appears to be my Companion; the One is my Brother and Friend.
ਇਕਸੈ ਦੀ ਸਾਮਗਰੀ ਇਕਸੈ ਦੀ ਹੈ ਰੀਤਿ ॥
ikasai dī sāmagarī ikasai dī hai rīt .
The elements and the components are all made by the One; they are held in their order by the One.
ਇਕਸ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਤਾ ਹੋਆ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਚੀਤੁ ॥
ikas siu man māniā tā hōā nihachal chīt .
When the mind accepts, and is satisfied with the One, then the consciousness becomes steady and stable.
ਸਚੁ ਖਾਣਾ ਸਚੁ ਪੈਨਣਾ ਟੇਕ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੁ ਕੀਤੁ ॥੪॥੫॥੭੫॥
sach khānā sach painanā tēk nānak sach kīt .4.5.75.
Then, one's food is the True Name, one's garments are the True Name, and one's Support, O Nanak, is the True Name. ||4||5||75||

Siree Raag, Fifth Mehl:
ਸਭੇ ਥੋਕ ਪਰਾਪਤੇ ਜੇ ਆਵੈ ਇਕੁ ਹਥਿ ॥
sabhē thōk parāpatē jē āvai ik hath .
All things are received if the One is obtained.
ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਸਫਲੁ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਥਿ ॥
janam padārath saphal hai jē sachā sabad kath .
The precious gift of this human life becomes fruitful when one chants the True Word of the Shabad.
ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਰਾਪਤੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਵੈ ਮਥਿ ॥੧॥
gur tē mahal parāpatē jis likhiā hōvai math .1.
One who has such destiny written on his forehead enters the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, through the Guru. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਏਕਸ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
mērē man ēkas siu chit lāi .
O my mind, focus your consciousness on the One.
ਏਕਸ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਭ ਧੰਧੁ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ēkas bin sabh dhandh hai sabh mithiā mōh māi .1. rahāu .
Without the One, all entanglements are worthless; emotional attachment to Maya is totally false. ||1||Pause||
ਲਖ ਖੁਸੀਆ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੀਆ ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
lakh khusīā pātisāhīā jē satigur nadar karēi .
Hundreds of thousands of princely pleasures are enjoyed, if the True Guru bestows His Glance of Grace.
ਨਿਮਖ ਏਕ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
nimakh ēk har nām dēi mērā man tan sītal hōi .
If He bestows the Name of the Lord, for even a moment, my mind and body are cooled and soothed.
ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਨ ਗਹੇ ॥੨॥
jis kau pūrab likhiā tin satigur charan gahē .2.
Those who have such pre-ordained destiny hold tight to the Feet of the True Guru. ||2||
ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤੁ ਸਫਲਾ ਘੜੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਚੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
saphal mūrat saphalā gharī jit sachē nāl piār .
Fruitful is that moment, and fruitful is that time, when one is in love with the True Lord.
ਦੂਖੁ ਸੰਤਾਪੁ ਨ ਲਗਈ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
dūkh santāp n lagaī jis har kā nām adhār .
Suffering and sorrow do not touch those who have the Support of the Name of the Lord.
ਬਾਹ ਪਕੜਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਾਢਿਆ ਸੋਈ ਉਤਰਿਆ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
bāh pakar gur kādhiā sōī utariā pār .3.
Grasping him by the arm, the Guru lifts them up and out, and carries them across to the other side. ||3||
ਥਾਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਾ ਪਵਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੈ ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ॥
thān suhāvā pavit hai jithai sant sabhā .
Embellished and immaculate is that place where the Saints gather together.
ਢੋਈ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਨੋ ਮਿਲੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਲਭਾ ॥
dhōī tis hī nō milai jin pūrā gurū labhā .
He alone finds shelter, who has met the Perfect Guru.
ਨਾਨਕ ਬਧਾ ਘਰੁ ਤਹਾਂ ਜਿਥੈ ਮਿਰਤੁ ਨ ਜਨਮੁ ਜਰਾ ॥੪॥੬॥੭੬॥
nānak badhā ghar tahānh jithai mirat n janam jarā .4.6.76.
Nanak builds his house upon that site where there is no death, no birth, and no old age. ||4||6||76||

Siree Raag, Fifth Mehl:
ਸੋਈ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਜੀਅੜੇ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਾਹਾਂ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੁ ॥
sōī dhiāīai jīarē sir sāhānh pātisāh .
Meditate on Him, O my soul; He is the Supreme Lord over kings and emperors.
ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਕੀ ਕਰਿ ਆਸ ਮਨ ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਸਭਸੁ ਵੇਸਾਹੁ ॥
tis hī kī kar ās man jis kā sabhas vēsāh .
Place the hopes of your mind in the One, in whom all have faith.
ਸਭਿ ਸਿਆਣਪਾ ਛਡਿ ਕੈ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਪਾਹੁ ॥੧॥
sabh siānapā shad kai gur kī charanī pāh .1.
Give up all your clever tricks, and grasp the Feet of the Guru. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਸੇਤੀ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਉ ॥
man mērē sukh sahaj sētī jap nāu .
O my mind, chant the Name with intuitive peace and poise.
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਤੂੰ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਇੰਦ ਨਿਤ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
āth pahar prabh dhiāi tūn gun gōind nit gāu .1. rahāu .
Twenty-four hours a day, meditate on God. Constantly sing the Glories of the Lord of the Universe. ||1||Pause||
ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਸਰਨੀ ਪਰੁ ਮਨਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
tis kī saranī par manā jis jēvad avar n kōi .
Seek His Shelter, O my mind; there is no other as Great as He.
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ਘਣਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਨ ਮੂਲੇ ਹੋਇ ॥
jis simarat sukh hōi ghanā dukh darad n mūlē hōi .
Remembering Him in meditation, a profound peace is obtained. Pain and suffering will not touch you at all.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥
sadā sadā kar chākarī prabh sāhib sachā sōi .2.
Forever and ever, work for God; He is our True Lord and Master. ||2||
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਕਟੀਐ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸ ॥
sādhasangat hōi niramalā katīai jam kī phās .
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you shall become absolutely pure, and the noose of death shall be cut away.
ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਕਰਿ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
sukhadātā bhai bhanjanō tis āgai kar aradās .
So offer your prayers to Him, the Giver of Peace, the Destroyer of fear.
ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨੁ ਤਾਂ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਆਵੈ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੩॥
mihar karē jis miharavān tānh kāraj āvai rās .3.
Showing His Mercy, the Merciful Master shall resolve your affairs. ||3||
ਬਹੁਤੋ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ਊਚੋ ਊਚਾ ਥਾਉ ॥
bahutō bahut vakhānīai ūchō ūchā thāu .
The Lord is said to be the Greatest of the Great; His Kingdom is the Highest of the High.
ਵਰਨਾ ਚਿਹਨਾ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਾਉ ॥
varanā chihanā bāharā kīmat kah n sakāu .
He has no color or mark; His Value cannot be estimated.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਸਚੁ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਅਪੁਣਾ ਨਾਉ ॥੪॥੭॥੭੭॥
nānak kau prabh maiā kar sach dēvah apunā nāu .4.7.77.
Please show Mercy to Nanak, God, and bless him with Your True Name. ||4||7||77||

Siree Raag, Fifth Mehl:
ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਸੋ ਸੁਖੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਮੁਖੁ ਊਜਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
nām dhiāē sō sukhī tis mukh ūjal hōi .
One who meditates on the Naam is at peace; his face is radiant and bright.
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਸਭਨੀ ਲੋਇ ॥
pūrē gur tē pāīai paragat sabhanī lōi .
Obtaining it from the Perfect Guru, he is honored all over the world.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਵਸੈ ਏਕੋ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥
sādhasangat kai ghar vasai ēkō sachā sōi .1.
In the Company of the Holy, the One True Lord comes to abide within the home of the self. ||1||
