ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਨਾਇ ਲਾਏ ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਰਜਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kar kirapā apunai nāi lāē sarab sūkh prabh tumarī rajāi . rahāu .
Bestowing Your Mercy, God, You attach us to Your Name; all peace comes by Your Will. ||Pause||
ਸੰਗਿ ਹੋਵਤ ਕਉ ਜਾਨਤ ਦੂਰਿ ॥ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਮਰਤਾ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਝੂਰਿ ॥੨॥
sang hōvat kau jānat dūr . sō jan maratā nit nit jhūr .2.
The Lord is Ever-present; one who deems Him to be far away, dies again and again, repenting. ||2||
ਜਿਨਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਦੀਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਚਿਤਵਤ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
jin sabh kish dīā tis chitavat nāh .
The mortals do not remember the One, who has given them everything.
ਮਹਾ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੩॥
mahā bikhiā mah din rain jāh .3.
Engrossed in such terrible corruption, their days and nights waste away. ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਏਕ ॥
kah nānak prabh simarah ēk .
Says Nanak, meditate in remembrance of the One Lord God.
ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਟੇਕ ॥੪॥੩॥੯੭॥
gat pāīai gur pūrē tēk .4.3.97.
Salvation is obtained, in the Shelter of the Perfect Guru. ||4||3||97||
ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
āsā mahalā 5 .
Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਹਰਿਆ ॥
nām japat man tan sabh hariā .
Meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the mind and body are totally rejuvenated.
ਕਲਮਲ ਦੋਖ ਸਗਲ ਪਰਹਰਿਆ ॥੧॥
kalamal dōkh sagal parahariā .1.
All sins and sorrows are washed away. ||1||
ਸੋਈ ਦਿਵਸੁ ਭਲਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
sōī divas bhalā mērē bhāī .
How blessed is that day, O my Siblings of Destiny,
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har gun gāi param gat pāī . rahāu .
when the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung, and the supreme status is obtained. ||Pause||
ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਜੇ ਪੈਰ ॥
sādh janā kē pūjē pair .
Worshipping the feet of the Holy Saints,
ਮਿਟੇ ਉਪਦ੍ਰਹ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਬੈਰ ॥੨॥
mitē upadrah man tē bair .2.
troubles and hatred are eliminated from the mind. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਝਗਰੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥
gur pūrē mil jhagar chukāiā .
Meeting with the Perfect Guru, conflict is ended,
ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤ ਸਭਿ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਆਇਆ ॥੩॥
panch dūt sabh vasagat āiā .3.
and the five demons are totally subdued. ||3||
ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
jis man vasiā har kā nām .
One whose mind is filled with the Name of the Lord,
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਊਪਰਿ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ॥੪॥੪॥੯੮॥
nānak tis ūpar kurabān .4.4.98.
O Nanak - I am a sacrifice to him. ||4||4||98||
ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
āsā mahalā 5 .
Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
ਗਾਵਿ ਲੇਹਿ ਤੂ ਗਾਵਨਹਾਰੇ ॥
gāv lēh tū gāvanahārē .
O singer, sing of the One,
ਜੀਅ ਪਿੰਡ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰੇ ॥
jī pind kē prān adhārē .
who is the Support of the soul, the body and the breath of life.
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਹਿ ॥
jā kī sēvā sarab sukh pāvah .
Serving Him, all peace is obtained.
ਅਵਰ ਕਾਹੂ ਪਹਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਜਾਵਹਿ ॥੧॥
avar kāhū pah bahur n jāvah .1.
You shall no longer go to any other. ||1||
ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਅਨੰਦੀ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਗੁਨ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਜਾਪੀਐ ॥
sadā anand anandī sāhib gun nidhān nit nit jāpīai .
My Blissful Lord Master is forever in bliss; meditate continually and forever, on the Lord, the treasure of excellence.
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਾਸੀਐ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
balihārī tis sant piārē jis prasād prabh man vāsīai . rahāu .
I am a sacrifice to the Beloved Saints; by their kind favor, God comes to dwell in the mind. ||Pause||
ਜਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਨੁ ਨਿਖੂਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
jā kā dān nikhūtai nāhī .
His gifts are never exhausted.
ਭਲੀ ਭਾਤਿ ਸਭ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥
bhalī bhāt sabh sahaj samāhī .
In His subtle way, He easily absorbs all.
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਬਖਸ ਨ ਮੇਟੈ ਕੋਈ ॥
jā kī bakhas n mētai kōī .
His benevolence cannot be erased.
ਮਨਿ ਵਾਸਾਈਐ ਸਾਚਾ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥
man vāsāīai sāchā sōī .2.
So enshrine that True Lord within your mind. ||2||
ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਪੂਰਨ ॥
sagal samagrī grih jā kai pūran .
His house is filled with all sorts of articles;
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੂਖ ਨ ਝੂਰਨ ॥
prabh kē sēvak dūkh n jhūran .
God's servants never suffer pain.
ਓਟਿ ਗਹੀ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
ōt gahī nirabhau pad pāīai .
Holding to His Support, the state of fearless dignity is obtained.
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸੋ ਗੁਨ ਨਿਧਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥੩॥
sās sās sō gun nidh gāīai .3.
With each and every breath, sing of the Lord, the treasure of excellence. ||3||
ਦੂਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ਕਤਹੂ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
dūr n hōī katahū jāīai .
He is not far from us, wherever we go.
ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
nadar karē tā har har pāīai .
When He shows His Mercy, we obtain the Lord, Har, Har.
ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਕਰੀ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
aradās karī pūrē gur pās .
I offer this prayer to the Perfect Guru.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੫॥੯੯॥
nānak mangai har dhan rās .4.5.99.
Nanak begs for the treasure of the Lord's Name. ||4||5||99||
ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
ਪ੍ਰਥਮੇ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਤਨ ਕਾ ਦੂਖ ॥
prathamē mitiā tan kā dūkh .
First, the pains of the body vanish;
ਮਨ ਸਗਲ ਕਉ ਹੋਆ ਸੂਖੁ ॥
man sagal kau hōā sūkh .
then, the mind becomes totally peaceful.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੁਰ ਦੀਨੋ ਨਾਉ ॥
kar kirapā gur dīnō nāu .
In His Mercy, the Guru bestows the Lord's Name.
ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਜਾਉ ॥੧॥
bal bal tis satigur kau jāu .1.
I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to that True Guru. ||1||
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਓ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
gur pūrā pāiō mērē bhāī .
I have obtained the Perfect Guru, O my Siblings of Destiny.
ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਸਭ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
rōg sōg sabh dūkh bināsē satigur kī saranāī . rahāu .
All illness, sorrows and sufferings are dispelled, in the Sanctuary of the True Guru. ||Pause||
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸਾਏ ॥
gur kē charan hiradai vasāē .
The feet of the Guru abide within my heart;
ਮਨ ਚਿੰਤਤ ਸਗਲੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ॥
man chintat sagalē phal pāē .
I have received all the fruits of my heart's desires.
ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝੀ ਸਭ ਹੋਈ ਸਾਂਤਿ ॥
agan bujhī sabh hōī sānht .
The fire is extinguished, and I am totally peaceful.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਦਾਤਿ ॥੨॥
kar kirapā gur kīnī dāt .2.
Showering His Mercy, the Guru has given this gift. ||2||
ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੋ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
nithāvē kau gur dīnō thān .
The Guru has given shelter to the shelterless.
ਨਿਮਾਨੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਨੋ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
nimānē kau gur kīnō mān .
The Guru has given honor to the dishonored.
ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟਿ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ॥
bandhan kāt sēvak kar rākhē .
Shattering his bonds, the Guru has saved His servant.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਨੀ ਰਸਨਾ ਚਾਖੇ ॥੩॥
anmrit bānī rasanā chākhē .3.
I taste with my tongue the Ambrosial Bani of His Word. ||3||
ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਪੂਜ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨਾ ॥
vadai bhāg pūj gur charanā .
By great good fortune, I worship the Guru's feet.
ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਪਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਨਾ ॥
sagal tiāg pāī prabh saranā .
Forsaking everything, I have obtained God's Sanctuary.
