ਝੂਠਾ ਪਰਪੰਚੁ ਜੋਰਿ ਚਲਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
jhūthā parapanch jōr chalāiā .2.
By Your Power, You have set this false contrivance in motion. ||2||
ਕਿਨਹੂ ਲਾਖ ਪਾਂਚ ਕੀ ਜੋਰੀ ॥
kinahū lākh pānhch kī jōrī .
Some collect hundreds of thousands of dollars,
ਅੰਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਰ ਗਗਰੀਆ ਫੋਰੀ ॥੩॥
ant kī bār gagarīā phōrī .3.
but in the end, the pitcher of the body bursts. ||3||
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਇਕ ਨੀਵ ਉਸਾਰੀ ॥
kah kabīr ik nīv usārī .
Says Kabeer, that single foundation which you have laid
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧॥੯॥੬੦॥
khin mah binas jāi ahankārī .4.1.9.60.
will be destroyed in an instant - you are so egotistical. ||4||1||9||60||

ਰਾਮ ਜਪਉ ਜੀਅ ਐਸੇ ਐਸੇ ॥ ਧ੍ਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਹਿਲਾਦ ਜਪਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਜੈਸੇ ॥੧॥
rām japau jī aisē aisē . dhrū prahilād japiō har jaisē .1.
Just as Dhroo and Prahlaad meditated on the Lord, so should you meditate on the Lord, O my soul. ||1||
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਭਰੋਸੇ ਤੇਰੇ ॥
dīn daiāl bharōsē tērē .
O Lord, Merciful to the meek, I have placed my faith in You;
ਸਭੁ ਪਰਵਾਰੁ ਚੜਾਇਆ ਬੇੜੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sabh paravār charāiā bērē .1. rahāu .
along with all my family, I have come aboard Your boat. ||1||Pause||
ਜਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮਨਾਵੈ ॥
jā tis bhāvai tā hukam manāvai .
When it is pleasing to Him, then He inspires us to obey the Hukam of His Command.
ਇਸ ਬੇੜੇ ਕਉ ਪਾਰਿ ਲਘਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
is bērē kau pār laghāvai .2.
He causes this boat to cross over. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਐਸੀ ਬੁਧਿ ਸਮਾਨੀ ॥
gur parasād aisī budh samānī .
By Guru's Grace, such understanding is infused into me;
ਚੂਕਿ ਗਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਨ ਜਾਨੀ ॥੩॥
chūk gaī phir āvan jānī .3.
my comings and goings in reincarnation have ended. ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਭਜੁ ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਨੀ ॥
kah kabīr bhaj sārigapānī .
Says Kabeer, meditate, vibrate upon the Lord, the Sustainer of the earth.
ਉਰਵਾਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਸਭ ਏਕੋ ਦਾਨੀ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੦॥੬੧॥
uravār pār sabh ēkō dānī .4.2.10.61.
In this world, in the world beyond and everywhere, He alone is the Giver. ||4||2||10||61||

Gauree 9:
ਜੋਨਿ ਛਾਡਿ ਜਉ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਓ ॥
jōn shād jau jag mah āiō .
He leaves the womb, and comes into the world;
ਲਾਗਤ ਪਵਨ ਖਸਮੁ ਬਿਸਰਾਇਓ ॥੧॥
lāgat pavan khasam bisarāiō .1.
as soon as the air touches him, he forgets his Lord and Master. ||1||
ਜੀਅਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਨਾ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jīarā har kē gunā gāu .1. rahāu .
O my soul, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਗਰਭ ਜੋਨਿ ਮਹਿ ਉਰਧ ਤਪੁ ਕਰਤਾ ॥
garabh jōn mah uradh tap karatā .
You were upside-down, living in the womb; you generated the intense meditative heat of 'tapas'.
ਤਉ ਜਠਰ ਅਗਨਿ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਤਾ ॥੨॥
tau jathar agan mah rahatā .2.
Then, you escaped the fire of the belly. ||2||
ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਜੋਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਆਇਓ ॥
lakh chaurāsīh jōn bhram āiō .
After wandering through 8.4 million incarnations, you came.
ਅਬ ਕੇ ਛੁਟਕੇ ਠਉਰ ਨ ਠਾਇਓ ॥੩॥
ab kē shutakē thaur n thāiō .3.
If you stumble and fall now, you shall find no home or place of rest. ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਭਜੁ ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਨੀ ॥
kah kabīr bhaj sārigapānī .
Says Kabeer, meditate, vibrate upon the Lord, the Sustainer of the earth.
ਆਵਤ ਦੀਸੈ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਜਾਨੀ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੧॥੬੨॥
āvat dīsai jāt n jānī .4.1.11.62.
He is not seen to be coming or going; He is the Knower of all. ||4||1||11||62||
ਗਉੜੀ ਪੂਰਬੀ ॥

Gauree Poorbee:
ਸੁਰਗ ਬਾਸੁ ਨ ਬਾਛੀਐ ਡਰੀਐ ਨ ਨਰਕਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥
surag bās n bāshīai darīai n narak nivās .
Don't wish for a home in heaven, and don't be afraid to live in hell.
ਹੋਨਾ ਹੈ ਸੋ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਮਨਹਿ ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ਆਸ ॥੧॥
hōnā hai sō hōī hai manah n kījai ās .1.
Whatever will be will be, so don't get your hopes up in your mind. ||1||
ਰਮਈਆ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
ramaīā gun gāīai .
Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord,
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਪਰਮ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jā tē pāīai param nidhān .1. rahāu .
from whom the most excellent treasure is obtained. ||1||Pause||
ਕਿਆ ਜਪੁ ਕਿਆ ਤਪੁ ਸੰਜਮੋ ਕਿਆ ਬਰਤੁ ਕਿਆ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥
kiā jap kiā tap sanjamō kiā barat kiā isanān .
What good is chanting, penance or self-mortification? What good is fasting or cleansing baths,
ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਨ ਜਾਨੀਐ ਭਾਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੨॥
jab lag jugat n jānīai bhāu bhagat bhagavān .2.
unless you know the way to worship the Lord God with loving devotion? ||2||
ਸੰਪੈ ਦੇਖਿ ਨ ਹਰਖੀਐ ਬਿਪਤਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਨ ਰੋਇ ॥
sanpai dēkh n harakhīai bipat dēkh n rōi .
Don't feel so delighted at the sight of wealth, and don't weep at the sight of suffering and adversity.
ਜਿਉ ਸੰਪੈ ਤਿਉ ਬਿਪਤਿ ਹੈ ਬਿਧ ਨੇ ਰਚਿਆ ਸੋ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
jiu sanpai tiu bipat hai bidh nē rachiā sō hōi .3.
As is wealth, so is adversity; whatever the Lord proposes, comes to pass. ||3||
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਅਬ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਸੰਤਨ ਰਿਦੈ ਮਝਾਰਿ ॥
kah kabīr ab jāniā santan ridai majhār .
Says Kabeer, now I know that the Lord dwells within the hearts of His Saints;
ਸੇਵਕ ਸੋ ਸੇਵਾ ਭਲੇ ਜਿਹ ਘਟ ਬਸੈ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੨॥੬੩॥
sēvak sō sēvā bhalē jih ghat basai murār .4.1.12.63.
that servant performs the best service, whose heart is filled with the Lord. ||4||1||12||63||

Gauree:
ਰੇ ਮਨ ਤੇਰੋ ਕੋਇ ਨਹੀ ਖਿੰਚਿ ਲੇਇ ਜਿਨਿ ਭਾਰੁ ॥
rē man tērō kōi nahī khinch lēi jin bhār .
O my mind, even if you carry someone's burden, they don't belong to you.
ਬਿਰਖ ਬਸੇਰੋ ਪੰਖਿ ਕੋ ਤੈਸੋ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
birakh basērō pankh kō taisō ih sansār .1.
This world is like the perch of the bird on the tree. ||1||
ਰਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਆ ਰੇ ॥
rām ras pīā rē .
I drink in the sublime essence of the Lord.
ਜਿਹ ਰਸ ਬਿਸਰਿ ਗਏ ਰਸ ਅਉਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jih ras bisar gaē ras aur .1. rahāu .
With the taste of this essence, I have forgotten all other tastes. ||1||Pause||
ਅਉਰ ਮੁਏ ਕਿਆ ਰੋਈਐ ਜਉ ਆਪਾ ਥਿਰੁ ਨ ਰਹਾਇ ॥
aur muē kiā rōīai jau āpā thir n rahāi .
Why should we weep at the death of others, when we ourselves are not permanent?
ਜੋ ਉਪਜੈ ਸੋ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਹੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਰਿ ਰੋਵੈ ਬਲਾਇ ॥੨॥
jō upajai sō binas hai dukh kar rōvai balāi .2.
Whoever is born shall pass away; why should we cry out in grief? ||2||
ਜਹ ਕੀ ਉਪਜੀ ਤਹ ਰਚੀ ਪੀਵਤ ਮਰਦਨ ਲਾਗ ॥
jah kī upajī tah rachī pīvat maradan lāg .
We are re-absorbed into the One from whom we came; drink in the Lord's essence, and remain attached to Him.
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਚਿਤਿ ਚੇਤਿਆ ਰਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਬੈਰਾਗ ॥੩॥੨॥੧੩॥੬੪॥
kah kabīr chit chētiā rām simar bairāg .3.2.13.64.
Says Kabeer, my consciousness is filled with thoughts of remembrance of the Lord; I have become detached from the world. ||3||2||13||64||

Raag Gauree:
ਪੰਥੁ ਨਿਹਾਰੈ ਕਾਮਨੀ ਲੋਚਨ ਭਰੀ ਲੇ ਉਸਾਸਾ ॥
panth nihārai kāmanī lōchan bharī lē usāsā .
The bride gazes at the path, and sighs with tearful eyes.
