ਮਇਆ ਕਰੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

The Sovereign Lord, the Perfect King, has shown His Mercy to me. ||1||Pause||
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਗ ॥
kah nānak jā kē pūrē bhāg .
Says Nanak, one whose destiny is perfect,
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ॥੨॥੧੦੬॥
har har nām asathir sōhāg .2.106.
meditates on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, the Everlasting Husband. ||2||106||

Gauree, Fifth Mehl:
ਧੋਤੀ ਖੋਲਿ ਵਿਛਾਏ ਹੇਠਿ ॥
dhōtī khōl vishāē hēth .
He opens his loin-cloth, and spreads it out beneath him.
ਗਰਧਪ ਵਾਂਗੂ ਲਾਹੇ ਪੇਟਿ ॥੧॥
garadhap vānhgū lāhē pēt .1.
Like a donkey, he gulps down all that comes his way. ||1||
ਬਿਨੁ ਕਰਤੂਤੀ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
bin karatūtī mukat n pāīai .
Without good deeds, liberation is not obtained.
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mukat padārath nām dhiāīai .1. rahāu .
The wealth of liberation is only obtained by meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਪੂਜਾ ਤਿਲਕ ਕਰਤ ਇਸਨਾਨਾਂ ॥
pūjā tilak karat isanānānh .
He performs worship ceremonies, applies the ceremonial tilak mark to his forehead, and takes his ritual cleansing baths;
ਛੁਰੀ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੇਵੈ ਹਥਿ ਦਾਨਾ ॥੨॥
shurī kādh lēvai hath dānā .2.
he pulls out his knife, and demands donations. ||2||
ਬੇਦੁ ਪੜੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਮੀਠੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
bēd parai mukh mīthī bānī .
With his mouth, he recites the Vedas in sweet musical measures,
ਜੀਆਂ ਕੁਹਤ ਨ ਸੰਗੈ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥੩॥
jīānh kuhat n sangai parānī .3.
and yet he does not hesitate to take the lives of others. ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੈ ॥
kah nānak jis kirapā dhārai .
Says Nanak, when God showers His Mercy,
ਹਿਰਦਾ ਸੁਧੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੈ ॥੪॥੧੦੭॥
hiradā sudh braham bīchārai .4.107.
even his heart becomes pure, and he contemplates God. ||4||107||

ਥਿਰੁ ਘਰਿ ਬੈਸਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
thir ghar baisah har jan piārē .
Remain steady in the home of your own self, O beloved servant of the Lord.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਕਾਜ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
satigur tumarē kāj savārē .1. rahāu .
The True Guru shall resolve all your affairs. ||1||Pause||
ਦੁਸਟ ਦੂਤ ਪਰਮੇਸਰਿ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
dusat dūt paramēsar mārē .
The Transcendent Lord has struck down the wicked and the evil.
ਜਨ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖੀ ਕਰਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
jan kī paij rakhī karatārē .1.
The Creator has preserved the honor of His servant. ||1||
ਬਾਦਿਸਾਹ ਸਾਹ ਸਭ ਵਸਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੇ ॥
bādisāh sāh sabh vas kar dīnē .
The kings and emperors are all under his power;
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮ ਮਹਾ ਰਸ ਪੀਨੇ ॥੨॥
anmrit nām mahā ras pīnē .2.
he drinks deeply of the most sublime essence of the Ambrosial Naam. ||2||
ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹੋਇ ਭਜਹੁ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥
nirabhau hōi bhajah bhagavān .
Meditate fearlessly on the Lord God.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੀਨੋ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੩॥
sādhasangat mil kīnō dān .3.
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, this gift is given. ||3||
ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
saran parē prabh antarajāmī .
Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts;
ਨਾਨਕ ਓਟ ਪਕਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੪॥੧੦੮॥
nānak ōt pakarī prabh suāmī .4.108.
he grasps the Support of God, his Lord and Master. ||4||108||

ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਭਾਹਿ ਨ ਜਲੈ ॥
har sang rātē bhāh n jalai .
One who is attuned to the Lord, shall not be burned in the fire.
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਹੀ ਛਲੈ ॥
har sang rātē māiā nahī shalai .
One who is attuned to the Lord, shall not be enticed by Maya.
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਨਹੀ ਡੂਬੈ ਜਲਾ ॥
har sang rātē nahī dūbai jalā .
One who is attuned to the Lord, shall not be drowned in water.
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਸੁਫਲ ਫਲਾ ॥੧॥
har sang rātē suphal phalā .1.
One who is attuned to the Lord, is prosperous and fruitful. ||1||
ਸਭ ਭੈ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੈ ਨਾਇ ॥
sabh bhai mitah tumārai nāi .
All fear is eradicated by Your Name.
ਭੇਟਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhētat sang har har gun gāi . rahāu .
Joining the Sangat, the Holy Congregation, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. ||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਮਿਟੈ ਸਭ ਚਿੰਤਾ ॥
har sang rātē mitai sabh chintā .
One who is attuned to the Lord, is free of all anxieties.
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਸੋ ਰਚੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਾਧ ਕਾ ਮੰਤਾ ॥
har siu sō rachai jis sādh kā mantā .
One who is attuned to the Lord, is blessed with the Mantra of the Holy.
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਨਹੀ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ॥
har sang rātē jam kī nahī trās .
One who is attuned to the Lord, is not haunted by the fear of death.
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸ ॥੨॥
har sang rātē pūran ās .2.
One who is attuned to the Lord, sees all his hopes fulfilled. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
har sang rātē dūkh n lāgai .
One who is attuned to the Lord, does not suffer in pain.
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥
har sang rātā anadin jāgai .
One who is attuned to the Lord, remains awake and aware, night and day.
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਸਹਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਸੈ ॥
har sang rātā sahaj ghar vasai .
One who is attuned to the Lord, dwells in the home of intuitive peace.
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਨਸੈ ॥੩॥
har sang rātē bhram bhau nasai .3.
One who is attuned to the Lord, sees his doubts and fears run away. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਮਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਹੋਇ ॥
har sang rātē mat ūtam hōi .
One who is attuned to the Lord, has the most sublime and exalted intellect.
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੋਇ ॥
har sang rātē niramal sōi .
One who is attuned to the Lord, has a pure and spotless reputation.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੪॥੧੦੯॥
kah nānak tin kau bal jāī . jin kau prabh mērā bisarat nāhī .4.109.
Says Nanak, I am a sacrifice to those who do not forget my God. ||4||109||

ਉਦਮੁ ਕਰਤ ਸੀਤਲ ਮਨ ਭਏ ॥
udam karat sītal man bhaē .
Through sincere efforts, the mind is made peaceful and calm.
ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਲਤ ਸਗਲ ਦੁਖ ਗਏ ॥
mārag chalat sagal dukh gaē .
Walking on the Lord's Way, all pains are taken away.
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਮਨਿ ਭਏ ਅਨੰਦ ॥
nām japat man bhaē anand .
Chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the mind becomes blissful.
ਰਸਿ ਗਾਏ ਗੁਨ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦ ॥੧॥
ras gāē gun paramānand .1.
Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, supreme bliss is obtained. ||1||
ਖੇਮ ਭਇਆ ਕੁਸਲ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ॥
khēm bhaiā kusal ghar āē .
There is joy all around, and peace has come to my home.
ਭੇਟਤ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਗਈ ਬਲਾਏ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhētat sādhasang gaī balāē . rahāu .
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, misfortune disappears. ||Pause||
ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਪੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਦਰਸ ॥
nētr punīt pēkhat hī daras .
My eyes are purified, beholding the Blessed Vision of His Darshan.
ਧਨਿ ਮਸਤਕ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਹੀ ਪਰਸ ॥
dhan masatak charan kamal hī paras .
Blessed is the forehead which touches His Lotus Feet.
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕੀ ਟਹਲ ਸਫਲ ਇਹ ਕਾਂਇਆ ॥
gōbind kī tahal saphal ih kānhiā .
Working for the Lord of the Universe, the body becomes fruitful.
