ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
āth pahar pārabraham dhiāī sadā sadā gun gāiā .
Twenty-four hours a day, I meditate on the Supreme Lord God; I sing His Glorious Praises forever and ever.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੪॥
kah nānak mērē pūrē manōrath pārabraham gur pāiā .4.4.
Says Nanak, my desires have been fulfilled; I have found my Guru, the Supreme Lord God. ||4||4||
ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
prabhātī mahalā 5 .
Prabhaatee, Fifth Mehl:
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਸਭਿ ਨਾਸੇ ॥
simarat nām kilabikh sabh nāsē .
Meditating in rememberance on the Naam, all my sins have been erased.
ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਰਾਸੇ ॥
sach nām gur dīnī rāsē .
The Guru has blessed me with the Capital of the True Name.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤੇ ॥
prabh kī daragah sōbhāvantē .
God's servants are embellished and exalted in His Court;
ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੋਹੰਤੇ ॥੧॥
sēvak sēv sadā sōhantē .1.
serving Him, they look beauteous forever. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
har har nām japah mērē bhāī .
Chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, O my Siblings of Destiny.
ਸਗਲੇ ਰੋਗ ਦੋਖ ਸਭਿ ਬਿਨਸਹਿ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sagalē rōg dōkh sabh binasah agiān andhērā man tē jāī .1. rahāu .
All sickness and sin shall be erased; your mind shall be rid of the darkness of ignorance. ||1||Pause||
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਮੀਤ ॥
janam maran gur rākhē mīt .
The Guru has saved me from death and rebirth, O friend;
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
har kē nām siu lāgī prīt .
I am in love with the Name of the Lord.
ਕੋਟਿ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਗਏ ਕਲੇਸ ॥
kōt janam kē gaē kalēs .
The suffering of millions of incarnations is gone;
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਭਲ ਹੋਸ ॥੨॥
jō tis bhāvai sō bhal hōs .2.
whatever pleases Him is good. ||2||
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥
tis gur kau hau sad bal jāī .
I am forever a sacrifice to the Guru;
ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥
jis prasād har nām dhiāī .
by His Grace, I meditate on the Lord's Name.
ਐਸਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥
aisā gur pāīai vadabhāgī .
By great good fortune, such a Guru is found;
ਜਿਸੁ ਮਿਲਤੇ ਰਾਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥੩॥
jis milatē rām liv lāgī .3.
meeting Him, one is lovingly attuned to the Lord. ||3||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
kar kirapā pārabraham suāmī .
Please be merciful, O Supreme Lord God, O Lord and Master,
ਸਗਲ ਘਟਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
sagal ghatā kē antarajāmī .
Inner-knower, Searcher of Hearts.
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
āth pahar apunī liv lāi .
Twenty-four hours a day, I am lovingly attuned to You.
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾਇ ॥੪॥੫॥
jan nānak prabh kī saranāi .4.5.
Servant Nanak has come to the Sanctuary of God. ||4||5||
ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਏ ॥
kar kirapā apunē prabh kīē .
In His Mercy, God has made me His Own.
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਨ ਕਉ ਦੀਏ ॥
har kā nām japan kau dīē .
He has blessed me with the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਗੁਬਿੰਦ ॥
āth pahar gun gāi gubind .
Twenty-four hours a day, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.
ਭੈ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਉਤਰੀ ਸਭ ਚਿੰਦ ॥੧॥
bhai binasē utarī sabh chind .1.
Fear is dispelled, and all anxiety has been alleviated. ||1||
ਉਬਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਲਾਗਿ ॥
ubarē satigur charanī lāg .
I have been saved, touching the Feet of the True Guru.
ਜੋ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਹੈ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਮੀਠਾ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ ਤਿਆਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jō gur kahai sōī bhal mīthā man kī mat tiāg .1. rahāu .
Whatever the Guru says is good and sweet to me. I have renounced the intellectual wisdom of my mind. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
man tan vasiā har prabh sōī .
That Lord God abides within my mind and body.
ਕਲਿ ਕਲੇਸ ਕਿਛੁ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
kal kalēs kish bighan n hōī .
There are no conflicts, pains or obstacles.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜੀਅ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
sadā sadā prabh jī kai sang .
Forever and ever, God is with my soul.
ਉਤਰੀ ਮੈਲੁ ਨਾਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੨॥
utarī mail nām kai rang .2.
Filth and pollution are washed away by the Love of the Name. ||2||
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੋ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
charan kamal siu lāgō piār .
I am in love with the Lotus Feet of the Lord;
ਬਿਨਸੇ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ॥
binasē kām krōdh ahankār .
I am no longer consumed by sexual desire, anger and egotism.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਨ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਜਾਨਾਂ ॥
prabh milan kā mārag jānānh .
Now, I know the way to meet God.
ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਾਂ ॥੩॥
bhāi bhagat har siu man mānānh .3.
Through loving devotional worship, my mind is pleased and appeased with the Lord. ||3||
ਸੁਣਿ ਸਜਣ ਸੰਤ ਮੀਤ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ॥
sun sajan sant mīt suhēlē .
Listen, O friends, Saints, my exalted companions.
ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਹ ਅਤੋਲੇ ॥
nām ratan har agah atōlē .
The Jewel of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is unfathomable and immeasurable.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
sadā sadā prabh gun nidh gāīai .
Forever and ever, sing the Glories of God, the Treasure of Virtue.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੪॥੬॥
kah nānak vadabhāgī pāīai .4.6.
Says Nanak, by great good fortune, He is found. ||4||6||
ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
prabhātī mahalā 5 .
Prabhaatee, Fifth Mehl:
ਸੇ ਧਨਵੰਤ ਸੇਈ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਹਾ ॥
sē dhanavant sēī sach sāhā .
They are wealthy, and they are the true merchants,
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਹਾ ॥੧॥
har kī daragah nām visāhā .1.
who have the credit of the Naam in the Court of the Lord. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਮਨ ਮੀਤ ॥
har har nām japah man mīt .
So chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, in your mind, my friends.
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਪੂਰਨ ਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur pūrā pāīai vadabhāgī niramal pūran rīt .1. rahāu .
The Perfect Guru is found by great good fortune, and then one's lifestyle becomes perfect and immaculate. ||1||Pause||
ਪਾਇਆ ਲਾਭੁ ਵਜੀ ਵਾਧਾਈ ॥
pāiā lābh vajī vādhāī .
They earn the profit, and the congratulations pour in;
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਈ ॥੨॥
sant prasād har kē gun gāī .2.
by the Grace of the Saints, they sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||2||
ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਜੀਵਨ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
saphal janam jīvan paravān .
Their lives are fruitful and prosperous, and their birth is approved;
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣੁ ॥੩॥
gur parasādī har rang mān .3.
by Guru's Grace, they enjoy the Love of the Lord. ||3||
ਬਿਨਸੇ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ॥
binasē kām krōdh ahankār .
Sexuality, anger and egotism are wiped away;
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੭॥
nānak guramukh utarah pār .4.7.
O Nanak, as Gurmukh, they are carried across to the other shore. ||4||7||
