ਪੂਰਾ ਭਾਗੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
pūrā bhāg hōvai mukh masatak sadā har kē gun gāh .1. rahāu .
Perfect destiny is inscribed upon your forehead and face; sing the Praises of the Lord forever. ||1||Pause||
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਇ ॥
anmrit nām bhōjan har dēi .
The Lord bestows the Ambrosial Food of the Naam.
ਕੋਟਿ ਮਧੇ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਲੇਇ ॥
kōt madhē kōī viralā lēi .
Out of millions, only a rare few receive it
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਅਪਣੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥੧॥
jis nō apanī nadar karēi .1.
- only those who are blessed by God's Glance of Grace. ||1||
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਵਸਾਇ ॥
gur kē charan man māh vasāi .
Whoever enshrines the Guru's Feet within his mind,
ਦੁਖੁ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
dukh anhērā andarah jāi .
is rid of pain and darkness from within.
ਆਪੇ ਸਾਚਾ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੨॥
āpē sāchā laē milāi .2.
The True Lord unites him with Himself. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
gur kī bānī siu lāi piār .
So embrace love for the Word of the Guru's Bani.
ਐਥੈ ਓਥੈ ਏਹੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
aithai ōthai ēh adhār .
Here and hereafter, this is your only Support.
ਆਪੇ ਦੇਵੈ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
āpē dēvai sirajanahār .3.
The Creator Lord Himself bestows it. ||3||
ਸਚਾ ਮਨਾਏ ਅਪਣਾ ਭਾਣਾ ॥
sachā manāē apanā bhānā .
One whom the Lord inspires to accept His Will,
ਸੋਈ ਭਗਤੁ ਸੁਘੜੁ ਸੋੁਜਾਣਾ ॥
sōī bhagat sughar sōjānā .
is a wise and knowing devotee.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਣਾ ॥੪॥੭॥੧੭॥੭॥੨੪॥
nānak tis kai sad kurabānā .4.7.17.7.24.
Nanak is forever a sacrifice to him. ||4||7||17||7||24||

ਰਸਕਿ ਰਸਕਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਲਿਵ ਉਨਮਨਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਗਾਨ ॥
rasak rasak gun gāvah guramat liv unaman nām lagān .
Through the Guru's Teachings, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord with joyous love and delight; I am enraptured, lovingly attuned to the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਮ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ॥੧॥
anmrit ras pīā gur sabadī ham nām vitah kurabān .1.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, I drink in the Ambrosial Essence; I am a sacrifice to the Naam. ||1||
ਹਮਰੇ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ॥
hamarē jagajīvan har prān .
The Lord, the Life of the World, is my Breath of Life.
ਹਰਿ ਊਤਮੁ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਭਾਇਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੰਤੁ ਦੀਓ ਹਰਿ ਕਾਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har ūtam rid antar bhāiō gur mant dīō har kān .1. rahāu .
The Lofty and Exalted Lord became pleasing to my heart and my inner being, when the Guru breathed the Mantra of the Lord into my ears. ||1||Pause||
ਆਵਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਨ ॥
āvah sant milah mērē bhāī mil har har nām vakhān .
Come, O Saints: let us join together, O Siblings of Destiny; let us meet and chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਕਿਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਿਉ ਪਾਈਐ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕਰਹੁ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਨ ॥੨॥
kit bidh kiu pāīai prabh apunā mō kau karah upadēs har dān .2.
How am I to find my God? Please bless me with the Gift of the Lord's Teachings. ||2||
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਜਾਨ ॥
satasangat mah har har vasiā mil sangat har gun jān .
The Lord, Har, Har, abides in the Society of the Saints; joining this Sangat, the Lord's Glories are known.
ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਸਿ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੩॥
vadai bhāg satasangat pāī gur satigur paras bhagavān .3.
By great good fortune, the Society of the Saints is found. Through the Guru, the True Guru, I receive the Touch of the Lord God. ||3||
ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਗਮ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਰਹੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ॥
gun gāvah prabh agam thākur kē gun gāi rahē hairān .
I sing the Glorious Praises of God, my Inaccessible Lord and Master; singing His Praises, I am enraptured.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਖਿਨ ਦਾਨ ॥੪॥੧॥
jan nānak kau gur kirapā dhārī har nām dīō khin dān .4.1.
The Guru has showered His Mercy on servant Nanak; in an instant, He blessed him with the Gift of the Lord's Name. ||4||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥

Prabhaatee, Fourth Mehl:
ਉਗਵੈ ਸੂਰੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਸਭ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਮ੍ਹਾਲਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਲ ॥
ugavai sūr guramukh har bōlah sabh rain samhālah har gāl .
With the rising of the sun, the Gurmukh speaks of the Lord. All through the night, he dwells upon the Sermon of the Lord.
ਹਮਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਹਮ ਲੋਚ ਲਗਾਈ ਹਮ ਕਰਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਲ ॥੧॥
hamarai prabh ham lōch lagāī ham karah prabhū har bhāl .1.
My God has infused this longing within me; I seek my Lord God. ||1||
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰਿ ਰਵਾਲ ॥
mērā man sādhū dhūr ravāl .
My mind is the dust of the feet of the Holy.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੀਠਾ ਗੁਰ ਪਗ ਝਾਰਹ ਹਮ ਬਾਲ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har har nām drirāiō gur mīthā gur pag jhārah ham bāl .1. rahāu .
The Guru has implanted the Sweet Name of the Lord, Har, Har, within me. I dust the Guru's Feet with my hair. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਕਤ ਕਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਅੰਧਾਰੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਫਾਥੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਜਾਲ ॥
sākat kau din rain andhārī mōh phāthē māiā jāl .
Dark are the days and nights of the faithless cynics; they are caught in the trap of attachment to Maya.
ਖਿਨੁ ਪਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਨ ਵਸਿਓ ਰਿਨਿ ਬਾਧੇ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਬਾਲ ॥੨॥
khin pal har prabh ridai n vasiō rin bādhē bah bidh bāl .2.
The Lord God does not dwell in their hearts, even for an instant; every hair of their heads is totally tied up in debts. ||2||
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਮਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਾਈ ਹਉ ਛੂਟੇ ਮਮਤਾ ਜਾਲ ॥
satasangat mil mat budh pāī hau shūtē mamatā jāl .
Joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, wisdom and understanding are obtained, and one is released from the traps of egotism and possessiveness.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਮੀਠ ਲਗਾਨਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਏ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੩॥
har nāmā har mīth lagānā gur kīē sabad nihāl .3.
The Lord's Name, and the Lord, seem sweet to me. Through the Word of His Shabad, the Guru has made me happy. ||3||
ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਗੁਰ ਅਗਮ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥
ham bārik gur agam gusāī gur kar kirapā pratipāl .
I am just a child; the Guru is the Unfathomable Lord of the World. In His Mercy, He cherishes and sustains me.
ਬਿਖੁ ਭਉਜਲ ਡੁਬਦੇ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਾਲ ਗੁਪਾਲ ॥੪॥੨॥
bikh bhaujal dubadē kādh lēh prabh gur nānak bāl gupāl .4.2.
I am drowning in the ocean of poison; O God, Guru, Lord of the World, please save Your child, Nanak. ||4||2||
