ਆਪਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਪੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ॥੨॥
āp kripā kar rākhah har jīu pōh n sakai jamakāl .2.
O Dear Lord, the Messenger of Death cannot even touch those whom You, in Your Mercy, protect. ||2||
ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਸਚੀ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਨਾ ਓਹ ਘਟੈ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
tērī saranāī sachī har jīu nā ōh ghatai n jāi .
True Is Your Sanctuary, O Dear Lord; it never diminishes or goes away.
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਲਾਗੈ ਓਹੁ ਜੰਮੈ ਤੈ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥
jō har shōd dūjai bhāi lāgai ōh janmai tai mar jāi .3.
Those who abandon the Lord, and become attached to the love of duality, shall continue to die and be reborn. ||3||
ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤਿਨਾ ਦੂਖ ਭੂਖ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
jō tērī saranāī har jīu tinā dūkh bhūkh kish nāh .
Those who seek Your Sanctuary, Dear Lord, shall never suffer in pain or hunger for anything.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਤੂ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੪॥੪॥
nānak nām salāh sadā tū sachai sabad samāh .4.4.
O Nanak, praise the Naam, the Name of the Lord forever, and merge in the True Word of the Shabad. ||4||4||

Prabhaatee, Third Mehl:
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਜੀਅ ਪਰਾਨ ॥
guramukh har jīu sadā dhiāvah jab lag jī parān .
As Gurmukh, meditate on the Dear Lord forever, as long as there is the breath of life.
ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਚੂਕਾ ਮਨਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥
gur sabadī man niramal hōā chūkā man abhimān .
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the mind becomes immaculate, and egotistical pride is expelled from the mind.
ਸਫਲੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਕੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਨ ॥੧॥
saphal janam tis prānī kērā har kai nām samān .1.
Fruitful and prosperous is the life of that mortal being, who is absorbed in the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਿਖ ਸੁਣੀਜੈ ॥
mērē man gur kī sikh sunījai .
O my mind, listen to the Teachings of the Guru.
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਜੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har kā nām sadā sukhadātā sahajē har ras pījai .1. rahāu .
The Name of the Lord is the Giver of peace forever. With intuitive ease, drink in the Sublime Essence of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਮੂਲੁ ਪਛਾਣਨਿ ਤਿਨ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
mūl pashānan tin nij ghar vāsā sahajē hī sukh hōī .
Those who understand their own origin dwell within the home of their inner being, in intuitive peace and poise.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥
gur kai sabad kamal paragāsiā haumai duramat khōī .
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the heart-lotus blossoms forth, and egotism and evil-mindedness are eradicated.
ਸਭਨਾ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੋ ਸਚੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੨॥
sabhanā mah ēkō sach varatai viralā būjhai kōī .2.
The One True Lord is pervading amongst all; those who realize this are very rare. ||2||
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਤਤੁ ਵਖਾਨੈ ॥
guramatī man niramal hōā anmrit tat vakhānai .
Through the Guru's Teachings, the mind becomes immaculate, speaking the Ambrosial Essence.
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨੈ ॥
har kā nām sadā man vasiā vich man hī man mānai .
The Name of the Lord dwells in the mind forever; within the mind, the mind is pleased and appeased.
ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਨੈ ॥੩॥
sad balihārī gur apunē vitah jit ātam rām pashānai .3.
I am forever a sacrifice to my Guru, through whom I have realized the Lord, the Supreme Soul. ||3||
ਮਾਨਸ ਜਨਮਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
mānas janam satigurū n sēviā birathā janam gavāiā .
Those human beings who do not serve the True Guru - their lives are uselessly wasted.
ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
nadar karē tānh satigur mēlē sahajē sahaj samāiā .
When God bestows His Glance of Grace, then we meet the True Guru, merging in intuitive peace and poise.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੪॥੫॥
nānak nām milai vadiāī pūrai bhāg dhiāiā .4.5.
O Nanak, by great good fortune, the Naam is bestowed; by perfect destiny, meditate. ||4||5||

ਆਪੇ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਬਣਾਏ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੀ ਸਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਖੇਲੁ ਕੀਆ ॥
āpē bhānht banāē bah rangī sisat upāi prabh khēl kīā .
God Himself fashioned the many forms and colors; He created the Universe and staged the play.
ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਏ ਸਰਬ ਜੀਆ ਨੋ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਦੀਆ ॥੧॥
kar kar vēkhai karē karāē sarab jīā nō rijak dīā .1.
Creating the creation, He watches over it. He acts, and causes all to act; He gives sustenance to all beings. ||1||
ਕਲੀ ਕਾਲ ਮਹਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਰਾਮੁ ॥
kalī kāl mah raviā rām .
In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the Lord is All-pervading.
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ghat ghat pūr rahiā prabh ēkō guramukh paragat har har nām .1. rahāu .
The One God is pervading and permeating each and every heart; the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is revealed to the Gurmukh. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਪਤਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਕਲਜੁਗਿ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥
gupatā nām varatai vich kalajug ghat ghat har bharapūr rahiā .
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is hidden, but it is pervasive in the Dark Age. The Lord is totally pervading and permeating each and every heart.
ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਆ ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਭਜਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੨॥
nām ratan tinā hiradai pragatiā jō gur saranāī bhaj paiā .2.
The Jewel of the Naam is revealed within the hearts of those who hurry to the Sanctuary of the Guru. ||2||
ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਪੰਚ ਪੰਚੇ ਵਸਿ ਆਣੈ ਖਿਮਾ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
indrī panch panchē vas ānai khimā santōkh guramat pāvai .
Whoever overpowers the five sense organs, is blessed with forgiveness, patience and contentment, through the Guru's Teachings.
ਸੋ ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਵਡ ਪੂਰਾ ਜੋ ਭੈ ਬੈਰਾਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
sō dhan dhan har jan vad pūrā jō bhai bairāg har gun gāvai .3.
Blessed, blessed, perfect and great is that humble servant of the Lord, who is inspired by the Fear of God and detached love, to sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||3||
ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮੁਹੁ ਫੇਰੇ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਕਹਿਆ ਨ ਚਿਤਿ ਧਰੈ ॥
gur tē muh phērē jē kōī gur kā kahiā n chit dharai .
If someone turns his face away from the Guru, and does not enshrine the Guru's Words in his consciousness
ਕਰਿ ਆਚਾਰ ਬਹੁ ਸੰਪਉ ਸੰਚੈ ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਨਰਕਿ ਪਰੈ ॥੪॥
kar āchār bah sanpau sanchai jō kish karai s narak parai .4.
- he may perform all sorts of rituals and accumulate wealth, but in the end, he will fall into hell. ||4||
ਏਕੋ ਸਬਦੁ ਏਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਭ ਏਕਸੁ ਤੇ ਉਤਪਤਿ ਚਲੈ ॥
ēkō sabad ēkō prabh varatai sabh ēkas tē utapat chalai .
The One Shabad, the Word of the One God, is prevailing everywhere. All the creation came from the One Lord.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਇ ਰਲੈ ॥੫॥੬॥
nānak guramukh mēl milāē guramukh har har jāi ralai .5.6.
O Nanak, the Gurmukh is united in union. When the Gurmukh goes, he blends into the Lord, Har, Har. ||5||6||
