Kaanraa, Fifth Mehl:
ਐਸੀ ਕਉਨ ਬਿਧੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਪਰਸਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aisī kaun bidhē darasan parasanā .1. rahāu .
How may I obtain the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan? ||1||Pause||
ਆਸ ਪਿਆਸ ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਉਮਗਿ ਹੀਉ ਤਰਸਨਾ ॥੧॥
ās piās saphal mūrat umag hīu tarasanā .1.
I hope and thirst for Your wish-fulfilling image; my heart yearns and longs for You. ||1||
ਦੀਨ ਲੀਨ ਪਿਆਸ ਮੀਨ ਸੰਤਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਨਾ ॥
dīn līn piās mīn santanā har santanā .
The meek and humble Saints are like thirsty fish; the Saints of the Lord are absorbed in Him.
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਨਾ ਕੀ ਰੇਨ ॥
har santanā kī rēn .
I am the dust of the feet of the Lord's Saints.
ਹੀਉ ਅਰਪਿ ਦੇਨ ॥
hīu arap dēn .
I dedicate my heart to them.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਕਿਰਪੇਨ ॥
prabh bhaē hai kirapēn .
God has become Merciful to me.
ਮਾਨੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਛੋਡਿਓ ਤਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਭੇਟਨਾ ॥੨॥੨॥੩੫॥
mān mōh tiāg shōdiō tau nānak har jīu bhētanā .2.2.35.
Renouncing pride and leaving behind emotional attachment, O Nanak, one meets with the Dear Lord. ||2||2||35||

Kaanraa, Fifth Mehl:
ਰੰਗਾ ਰੰਗ ਰੰਗਨ ਕੇ ਰੰਗਾ ॥
rangā rang rangan kē rangā .
The Playful Lord imbues all with the Color of His Love.
ਕੀਟ ਹਸਤ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਭ ਸੰਗਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kīt hasat pūran sabh sangā .1. rahāu .
From the ant to the elephant, He is permeating and pervading all. ||1||Pause||
ਬਰਤ ਨੇਮ ਤੀਰਥ ਸਹਿਤ ਗੰਗਾ ॥
barat nēm tīrath sahit gangā .
Some go on fasts, make vows, and take pilgrimages to sacred shrines on the Ganges.
ਜਲੁ ਹੇਵਤ ਭੂਖ ਅਰੁ ਨੰਗਾ ॥
jal hēvat bhūkh ar nangā .
They stand naked in the water, enduring hunger and poverty.
ਪੂਜਾਚਾਰ ਕਰਤ ਮੇਲੰਗਾ ॥
pūjāchār karat mēlangā .
They sit cross-legged, perform worship services and do good deeds.
ਚਕ੍ਰ ਕਰਮ ਤਿਲਕ ਖਾਟੰਗਾ ॥
chakr karam tilak khātangā .
They apply religious symbols to their bodies, and ceremonial marks to their limbs.
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਸੰਗਾ ॥੧॥
darasan bhētē bin satasangā .1.
They read through the Shaastras, but they do not join the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation. ||1||
ਹਠਿ ਨਿਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਅਤਿ ਰਹਤ ਬਿਟੰਗਾ ॥
hath nigrah at rahat bitangā .
They stubbornly practice ritualistic postures, standing on their heads.
ਹਉ ਰੋਗੁ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਚੁਕੈ ਨ ਭੰਗਾ ॥
hau rōg biāpai chukai n bhangā .
They are afflicted with the disease of egotism, and their faults are not covered up.
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਤਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਜਰੰਗਾ ॥
kām krōdh at trisan jarangā .
They burn in the fire of sexual frustration, unresolved anger and compulsive desire.
ਸੋ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਚੰਗਾ ॥੨॥੩॥੩੬॥
sō mukat nānak jis satigur changā .2.3.36.
He alone is liberated, O Nanak, whose True Guru is Good. ||2||3||36||

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਤਿਖ ਬੂਝਿ ਗਈ ਗਈ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ॥
tikh būjh gaī gaī mil sādh janā .
My thirst has been quenched, meeting with the Holy.
ਪੰਚ ਭਾਗੇ ਚੋਰ ਸਹਜੇ ਸੁਖੈਨੋ ਹਰੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤੀ ਗਾਵਤੀ ਗਾਵਤੀ ਦਰਸ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
panch bhāgē chōr sahajē sukhainō harē gun gāvatī gāvatī gāvatī daras piār .1. rahāu .
The five thieves have run away, and I am in peace and poise; singing, singing, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, I obtain the Blessed Vision of my Beloved. ||1||Pause||
ਜੈਸੀ ਕਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੋ ਸਿਉ ਮੋ ਸਿਉ ਐਸੀ ਹਉ ਕੈਸੇ ਕਰਉ ॥
jaisī karī prabh mō siu mō siu aisī hau kaisē karau .
That which God has done for me - how can I do that for Him in return?
ਹੀਉ ਤੁਮ੍ਹਾਰੇ ਬਲਿ ਬਲੇ ਬਲਿ ਬਲੇ ਬਲਿ ਗਈ ॥੧॥
hīu tumhārē bal balē bal balē bal gaī .1.
I make my heart a sacrifice, a sacrifice, a sacrifice, a sacrifice, a sacrifice to You. ||1||
ਪਹਿਲੇ ਪੈ ਸੰਤ ਪਾਇ ਧਿਆਇ ਧਿਆਇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਾਇ ॥
pahilē pai sant pāi dhiāi dhiāi prīt lāi .
First, I fall at the feet of the Saints; I meditate, meditate, lovingly attuned to You.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਥਾਨੁ ਤੇਰੋ ਕੇਹਰੋ ਜਿਤੁ ਜੰਤਨ ਕਰਿ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
prabh thān tērō kēharō jit jantan kar bīchār .
O God, where is that Place, where You contemplate all Your beings?
ਅਨਿਕ ਦਾਸ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਤੁਹਾਰੀ ॥
anik dās kīrat karah tuhārī .
Countless slaves sing Your Praises.
ਸੋਈ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਜੋ ਭਾਵਤੋ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
sōī miliō jō bhāvatō jan nānak thākur rahiō samāi .
He alone meets You, who is pleasing to Your Will. Servant Nanak remains absorbed in his Lord and Master.
ਏਕ ਤੂਹੀ ਤੂਹੀ ਤੂਹੀ ॥੨॥੧॥੩੭॥

You, You, You alone, Lord. ||2||1||37||

ਤਿਆਗੀਐ ਗੁਮਾਨੁ ਮਾਨੁ ਪੇਖਤਾ ਦਇਆਲ ਲਾਲ ਹਾਂ ਹਾਂ ਮਨ ਚਰਨ ਰੇਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tiāgīai gumān mān pēkhatā daiāl lāl hānh hānh man charan rēn .1. rahāu .
Give up your pride and your self-conceit; the Loving, Merciful Lord is watching over all. O mind, become the dust of His Feet. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਮੰਤ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਗਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ॥੧॥
har sant mant gupāl giān dhiān .1.
Through the Mantra of the Lord's Saints, experience the spiritual wisdom and meditation of the Lord of the World. ||1||
ਹਿਰਦੈ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗਾਇ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਾਇ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਮੋਹਨਾ ॥
hiradai gōbind gāi charan kamal prīt lāi dīn daiāl mōhanā .
Within your heart, sing the Praises of the Lord of the Universe, and be lovingly attuned to His Lotus Feet. He is the Fascinating Lord, Merciful to the meek and the humble.
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦਇਆ ਮਇਆ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
kripāl daiā maiā dhār .
O Merciful Lord, please bless me with Your Kindness and Compassion.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਾਨੁ ॥
nānak māgai nām dān .
Nanak begs for the Gift of the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਤਜਿ ਮੋਹੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਸਗਲ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥੨॥੧॥੩੮॥
taj mōh bharam sagal abhimān .2.1.38.
I have abandoned emotional attachment, doubt and all egotistical pride. ||2||1||38||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਹਨ ਮਲਨ ਦਹਨ ਲਹਨ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲੇ ਆਨ ਨਹੀ ਉਪਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
prabh kahan malan dahan lahan gur milē ān nahī upāu .1. rahāu .
Speaking of God, filth and pollution are burnt away; This comes by meeting with the Guru, and not by any other efforts. ||1||Pause||
