ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਸਦਾ ਥਿਰੁ ਪੂਜਹੁ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਤ ॥
har kē sant sadā thir pūjah jō har nām japāt .
The Lord's Saints are steady and stable forever; they worship and adore Him, and chant the Lord's Name.
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਤ ਹੈ ਗੋਬਿਦੁ ਤੇ ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਤ ॥੩॥
jin kau kripā karat hai gōbid tē satasang milāt .3.
Those who are mercifully blessed by the Lord of the Universe, join the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation. ||3||
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਸੰਪਤਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਨ ਚਲਤ ਸੰਗਾਤ ॥
māt pitā banitā sut sanpat ant n chalat sangāt .
Mother, father, spouse, children and wealth will not go along with you in the end.
ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਰਾਮ ਭਜੁ ਬਉਰੇ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਕਾਰਥ ਜਾਤ ॥੪॥੧॥
kahat kabīr rām bhaj baurē janam akārath jāt .4.1.
Says Kabeer, meditate and vibrate on the Lord, O madman. Your life is uselessly wasting away. ||4||1||
ਰਾਜਾਸ੍ਰਮ ਮਿਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੀ ਤੇਰੀ ॥
rājāsram mit nahī jānī tērī .
I do not know the limits of Your Royal Ashram.
ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਹਉ ਚੇਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tērē santan kī hau chērī .1. rahāu .
I am the humble slave of Your Saints. ||1||Pause||
ਹਸਤੋ ਜਾਇ ਸੁ ਰੋਵਤੁ ਆਵੈ ਰੋਵਤੁ ਜਾਇ ਸੁ ਹਸੈ ॥
hasatō jāi s rōvat āvai rōvat jāi s hasai .
The one who goes laughing returns crying, and the one who goes crying returns laughing.
ਬਸਤੋ ਹੋਇ ਹੋਇ ਸੋੁ ਊਜਰੁ ਊਜਰੁ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਬਸੈ ॥੧॥
basatō hōi hōi sō ūjar ūjar hōi s basai .1.
What is inhabited becomes deserted, and what is deserted becomes inhabited. ||1||
ਜਲ ਤੇ ਥਲ ਕਰਿ ਥਲ ਤੇ ਕੂਆ ਕੂਪ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੁ ਕਰਾਵੈ ॥
jal tē thal kar thal tē kūā kūp tē mēr karāvai .
The water turns into a desert, the desert turns into a well, and the well turns into a mountain.
ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਆਕਾਸਿ ਚਢਾਵੈ ਚਢੇ ਅਕਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
dharatī tē ākās chadhāvai chadhē akās girāvai .2.
From the earth, the mortal is exalted to the Akaashic ethers; and from the ethers on high, he is thrown down again. ||2||
ਭੇਖਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਰਾਜੁ ਕਰਾਵੈ ਰਾਜਾ ਤੇ ਭੇਖਾਰੀ ॥
bhēkhārī tē rāj karāvai rājā tē bhēkhārī .
The beggar is transformed into a king, and the king into a beggar.
ਖਲ ਮੂਰਖ ਤੇ ਪੰਡਿਤੁ ਕਰਿਬੋ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਤੇ ਮੁਗਧਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
khal mūrakh tē pandit karibō pandit tē mugadhārī .3.
The idiotic fool is transformed into a Pandit, a religious scholar, and the Pandit into a fool. ||3||
ਨਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਕਰਾਵੈ ਪੁਰਖਨ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
nārī tē jō purakh karāvai purakhan tē jō nārī .
The woman is transformed into a man, and the men into women.
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੨॥
kah kabīr sādhū kō prītam tis mūrat balihārī .4.2.
Says Kabeer, God is the Beloved of the Holy Saints. I am a sacrifice to His image. ||4||2||

ਕਾਏਂ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਬਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
kāēnh rē man bikhiā ban jāi .
O mortal, why are you going into the forest of corruption?
ਭੂਲੌ ਰੇ ਠਗਮੂਰੀ ਖਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhūlau rē thagamūrī khāi .1. rahāu .
You have been misled into eating the toxic drug. ||1||Pause||
ਜੈਸੇ ਮੀਨੁ ਪਾਨੀ ਮਹਿ ਰਹੈ ॥
jaisē mīn pānī mah rahai .
You are like a fish living in the water;
ਕਾਲ ਜਾਲ ਕੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਨਹੀ ਲਹੈ ॥
kāl jāl kī sudh nahī lahai .
you do not see the net of death.
ਜਿਹਬਾ ਸੁਆਦੀ ਲੀਲਿਤ ਲੋਹ ॥
jihabā suādī līlit lōh .
Trying to taste the flavor, you swallow the hook.
ਐਸੇ ਕਨਿਕ ਕਾਮਨੀ ਬਾਧਿਓ ਮੋਹ ॥੧॥
aisē kanik kāmanī bādhiō mōh .1.
You are bound by attachment to wealth and woman. ||1||
ਜਿਉ ਮਧੁ ਮਾਖੀ ਸੰਚੈ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
jiu madh mākhī sanchai apār .
The bee stores up loads of honey;
ਮਧੁ ਲੀਨੋ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਛਾਰੁ ॥
madh līnō mukh dīnī shār .
then someone comes and takes the honey, and throws dust in its mouth.
ਗਊ ਬਾਛ ਕਉ ਸੰਚੈ ਖੀਰੁ ॥
gaū bāsh kau sanchai khīr .
The cow stores up loads of milk;
ਗਲਾ ਬਾਂਧਿ ਦੁਹਿ ਲੇਇ ਅਹੀਰੁ ॥੨॥
galā bānhdh duh lēi ahīr .2.
then the milkman comes and ties it by its neck and milks it. ||2||
ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾਰਨਿ ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਅਤਿ ਕਰੈ ॥
māiā kāran sram at karai .
For the sake of Maya, the mortal works very hard.
ਸੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਲੈ ਗਾਡੈ ਧਰੈ ॥
sō māiā lai gādai dharai .
He takes the wealth of Maya, and buries it in the ground.
ਅਤਿ ਸੰਚੈ ਸਮਝੈ ਨਹੀ ਮੂੜ੍ਹ ॥
at sanchai samajhai nahī mūrh .
He acquires so much, but the fool does not appreciate it.
ਧਨੁ ਧਰਤੀ ਤਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਗਇਓ ਧੂੜਿ ॥੩॥
dhan dharatī tan hōi gaiō dhūr .3.
His wealth remains buried in the ground, while his body turns to dust. ||3||
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਤਿ ਜਰੈ ॥
kām krōdh trisanā at jarai .
He burns in tremendous sexual desire, unresolved anger and desire.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਬਹੂ ਨਹੀ ਕਰੈ ॥
sādhasangat kabahū nahī karai .
He never joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਕਹਤ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਤਾ ਚੀ ਆਣਿ ॥
kahat nāmadēu tā chī ān .
Says Naam Dayv, seek God's Shelter;
ਨਿਰਭੈ ਹੋਇ ਭਜੀਐ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੪॥੧॥
nirabhai hōi bhajīai bhagavān .4.1.
be fearless, and vibrate on the Lord God. ||4||1||
ਬਦਹੁ ਕੀ ਨ ਹੋਡ ਮਾਧਉ ਮੋ ਸਿਉ ॥
badah kī n hōd mādhau mō siu .
Why not make a bet with me, O Lord of Wealth?
ਠਾਕੁਰ ਤੇ ਜਨੁ ਜਨ ਤੇ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਖੇਲੁ ਪਰਿਓ ਹੈ ਤੋ ਸਿਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
thākur tē jan jan tē thākur khēl pariō hai tō siu .1. rahāu .
From the master comes the servant, and from the servant, comes the master. This is the game I play with You. ||1||Pause||
ਆਪਨ ਦੇਉ ਦੇਹੁਰਾ ਆਪਨ ਆਪ ਲਗਾਵੈ ਪੂਜਾ ॥
āpan dēu dēhurā āpan āp lagāvai pūjā .
You Yourself are the deity, and You are the temple of worship. You are the devoted worshipper.
ਜਲ ਤੇ ਤਰੰਗ ਤਰੰਗ ਤੇ ਹੈ ਜਲੁ ਕਹਨ ਸੁਨਨ ਕਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥
jal tē tarang tarang tē hai jal kahan sunan kau dūjā .1.
From the water, the waves rise up, and from the waves, the water. They are only different by figures of speech. ||1||
ਆਪਹਿ ਗਾਵੈ ਆਪਹਿ ਨਾਚੈ ਆਪਿ ਬਜਾਵੈ ਤੂਰਾ ॥
āpah gāvai āpah nāchai āp bajāvai tūrā .
You Yourself sing, and You Yourself dance. You Yourself blow the bugle.
ਕਹਤ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਜਨੁ ਊਰਾ ਤੂ ਪੂਰਾ ॥੨॥੨॥
kahat nāmadēu tūn mērō thākur jan ūrā tū pūrā .2.2.
Says Naam Dayv, You are my Lord and Master. Your humble servant is imperfect; You are perfect. ||2||2||
ਦਾਸ ਅਨਿੰਨ ਮੇਰੋ ਨਿਜ ਰੂਪ ॥
dās aninn mērō nij rūp .
Says God: my slave is devoted only to me; he is in my very image.
ਦਰਸਨ ਨਿਮਖ ਤਾਪ ਤ੍ਰਈ ਮੋਚਨ ਪਰਸਤ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਰਤ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੂਪ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
darasan nimakh tāp traī mōchan parasat mukat karat grih kūp .1. rahāu .
The sight of him, even for an instant, cures the three fevers; his touch brings liberation from the deep dark pit of household affairs. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਰੀ ਬਾਂਧੀ ਭਗਤੁ ਛਡਾਵੈ ਬਾਂਧੈ ਭਗਤੁ ਨ ਛੂਟੈ ਮੋਹਿ ॥
mērī bānhdhī bhagat shadāvai bānhdhai bhagat n shūtai mōh .
The devotee can release anyone from my bondage, but I cannot release anyone from his.
