ਧਨ ਅੰਧੀ ਪਿਰੁ ਚਪਲੁ ਸਿਆਨਾ ॥
dhan andhī pir chapal siānā .
The body-bride is blind, and the groom is clever and wise.
ਪੰਚ ਤਤੁ ਕਾ ਰਚਨੁ ਰਚਾਨਾ ॥
panch tat kā rachan rachānā .
The creation was created of the five elements.
ਜਿਸੁ ਵਖਰ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ ਆਏ ਹਹੁ ਸੋ ਪਾਇਓ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੬॥
jis vakhar kau tum āē hah sō pāiō satigur pāsā hē .6.
That merchandise, for which you have come into the world, is received only from the True Guru. ||6||
ਧਨ ਕਹੈ ਤੂ ਵਸੁ ਮੈ ਨਾਲੇ ॥
dhan kahai tū vas mai nālē .
The body-bride says, "Please live with me,
ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਸੁਖਵਾਸੀ ਬਾਲ ਗੁਪਾਲੇ ॥
pri sukhavāsī bāl gupālē .
O my beloved, peaceful, young lord.
ਤੁਝੈ ਬਿਨਾ ਹਉ ਕਿਤ ਹੀ ਨ ਲੇਖੈ ਵਚਨੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੭॥
tujhai binā hau kit hī n lēkhai vachan dēh shōd n jāsā hē .7.
Without you, I am of no account. Please give me your word, that you will not leave me". ||7||
ਪਿਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ਹਉ ਹੁਕਮੀ ਬੰਦਾ ॥
pir kahiā hau hukamī bandā .
The soul-husband says, "I am the slave of my Commander.
ਓਹੁ ਭਾਰੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਾਣਿ ਨ ਛੰਦਾ ॥
ōh bhārō thākur jis kān n shandā .
He is my Great Lord and Master, who is fearless and independent.
ਜਿਚਰੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਤਿਚਰੁ ਤੁਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਹਣਾ ਜਾ ਸਦੇ ਤ ਊਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੮॥
jichar rākhai tichar tum sang rahanā jā sadē t ūth sidhāsā hē .8.
As long as He wills, I will remain with you. When He summons me, I shall arise and depart."||8||
ਜਉ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਬਚਨ ਕਹੇ ਧਨ ਸਾਚੇ ॥
jau pri bachan kahē dhan sāchē .
The husband speaks words of Truth to the bride,
ਧਨ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਸਮਝੈ ਚੰਚਲਿ ਕਾਚੇ ॥
dhan kashū n samajhai chanchal kāchē .
but the bride is restless and inexperienced, and she does not understand anything.
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਪਿਰ ਹੀ ਸੰਗੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਓਹੁ ਬਾਤ ਜਾਨੈ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੯॥
bahur bahur pir hī sang māgai ōh bāt jānai kar hāsā hē .9.
Again and again, she begs her husband to stay; she thinks that he is just joking when he answers her. ||9||
ਆਈ ਆਗਿਆ ਪਿਰਹੁ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ॥
āī āgiā pirah bulāiā .
The Order comes, and the husband-soul is called.
ਨਾ ਧਨ ਪੁਛੀ ਨ ਮਤਾ ਪਕਾਇਆ ॥
nā dhan pushī n matā pakāiā .
He does not consult with his bride, and does not ask her opinion.
ਊਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਇਓ ਛੂਟਰਿ ਮਾਟੀ ਦੇਖੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਥਨ ਮੋਹਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੦॥
ūth sidhāiō shūtar mātī dēkh nānak mithan mōhāsā hē .10.
He gets up and marches off, and the discarded body-bride mingles with dust. O Nanak, behold the illusion of emotional attachment and hope. ||10||
ਰੇ ਮਨ ਲੋਭੀ ਸੁਣਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
rē man lōbhī sun man mērē .
O greedy mind - listen, O my mind!
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ਸਦੇਰੇ ॥
satigur sēv din rāt sadērē .
Serve the True Guru day and night forever.
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਚਿ ਮੂਏ ਸਾਕਤ ਨਿਗੁਰੇ ਗਲਿ ਜਮ ਫਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੧॥
bin satigur pach mūē sākat nigurē gal jam phāsā hē .11.
Without the True Guru, the faithless cynics rot away and die. The noose of Death is around the necks of those who have no guru. ||11||
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਆਵੈ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਵੈ ॥
manamukh āvai manamukh jāvai .
The self-willed manmukh comes, and the self-willed manmukh goes.
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਚੋਟਾ ਖਾਵੈ ॥
manamukh phir phir chōtā khāvai .
The manmukh suffers beatings again and again.
ਜਿਤਨੇ ਨਰਕ ਸੇ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਭੋਗੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਲੇਪੁ ਨ ਮਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੨॥
jitanē narak sē manamukh bhōgai guramukh lēp n māsā hē .12.
The manmukh endures as many hells as there are; the Gurmukh is not even touched by them. ||12||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੋਇ ਜਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
guramukh sōi j har jīu bhāiā .
He alone is Gurmukh, who is pleasing to the Dear Lord.
ਤਿਸੁ ਕਉਣੁ ਮਿਟਾਵੈ ਜਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਪਹਿਰਾਇਆ ॥
tis kaun mitāvai j prabh pahirāiā .
Who can destroy anyone who is robed in honor by the Lord?
ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਕਰੇ ਆਨੰਦੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਰਪਾਉ ਪਇਆ ਗਲਿ ਖਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੩॥
sadā anand karē ānandī jis sirapāu paiā gal khāsā hē .13.
The blissful one is forever in bliss; he is dressed in robes of honor. ||13||
ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
hau balihārī satigur pūrē .
I am a sacrifice to the Perfect True Guru.
ਸਰਣਿ ਕੇ ਦਾਤੇ ਬਚਨ ਕੇ ਸੂਰੇ ॥
saran kē dātē bachan kē sūrē .
He is the Giver of Sanctuary, the Heroic Warrior who keeps His Word.
ਐਸਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਵਿਛੁੜਿ ਨ ਕਤ ਹੀ ਜਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੪॥
aisā prabh miliā sukhadātā vishur n kat hī jāsā hē .14.
Such is the Lord God, the Giver of peace, whom I have met; He shall never leave me or go anywhere else. ||14||
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਮ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥
gun nidhān kish kīm n pāī .
He is the treasure of virtue; His value cannot be estimated.
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਭ ਠਾਈ ॥
ghat ghat pūr rahiō sabh thāī .
He is perfectly permeating each and every heart, prevailing everywhere.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਹਉ ਰੇਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਜੋ ਦਾਸਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੫॥੧॥੨॥
nānak saran dīn dukh bhanjan hau rēn tērē jō dāsā hē .15.1.2.
Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of the Destroyer of the pains of the poor; I am the dust of the feet of Your slaves. ||15||1||2||

ਕਰੈ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਅਨੰਦੀ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
karai anand anandī mērā .
My Blissful Lord is forever in bliss.
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਸਿਰ ਸਿਰਹਿ ਨਿਬੇਰਾ ॥
ghat ghat pūran sir sirah nibērā .
He fills each and every heart, and judges each and everyone.
ਸਿਰਿ ਸਾਹਾ ਕੈ ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਦੂਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧॥
sir sāhā kai sachā sāhib avar nāhī kō dūjā hē .1.
The True Lord and Master is above the heads of all kings; there is none other than Him. ||1||
ਹਰਖਵੰਤ ਆਨੰਤ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
harakhavant ānant daiālā .
He is joyful, blissful and merciful.
ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਰਬ ਉਜਾਲਾ ॥
pragat rahiō prabh sarab ujālā .
God's Light is manifest everywhere.
ਰੂਪ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਵਿਗਸੈ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਿ ਪੂਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੨॥
rūp karē kar vēkhai vigasai āpē hī āp pūjā hē .2.
He creates forms, and gazing upon them, He enjoys them; He Himself worships Himself. ||2||
ਆਪੇ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਵੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
āpē kudarat karē vīchārā .
He contemplates His own creative power.
ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਕਰੇ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥
āpē hī sach karē pasārā .
The True Lord Himself creates the expanse of the Universe.
ਆਪੇ ਖੇਲ ਖਿਲਾਵੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਆਪੇ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਭੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੩॥
āpē khēl khilāvai din rātī āpē sun sun bhījā hē .3.
He Himself stages the play, day and night; He Himself listens, and hearing, rejoices. ||3||
ਸਾਚਾ ਤਖਤੁ ਸਚੀ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੀ ॥
sāchā takhat sachī pātisāhī .
True is His throne, and True is His kingdom.
ਸਚੁ ਖਜੀਨਾ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹੀ ॥
sach khajīnā sāchā sāhī .
True is the treasure of the True Banker.
