ਸਦ ਹੀ ਨੇੜੈ ਦੂਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਣਹੁ ॥
sad hī nērai dūr n jānah .
He is always near at hand; He is never far away.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਜੀਕਿ ਪਛਾਣਹੁ ॥
gur kai sabad najīk pashānah .
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, realize that He is very near.
ਬਿਗਸੈ ਕਮਲੁ ਕਿਰਣਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੈ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖਾਇਆ ॥੧੫॥
bigasai kamal kiran paragāsai paragat kar dēkhāiā .15.
Your heart-lotus shall blossom forth, and the ray of God's Divine Light shall illuminate your heart; He shall be revealed to You. ||15||
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਈ ॥
āpē karatā sachā sōī .
The True Lord is Himself the Creator.
ਆਪੇ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੀਵਾਲੇ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
āpē mār jīvālē avar n kōī .
He Himself kills, and gives life; there is no other at all.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧੬॥੨॥੨੪॥
nānak nām milai vadiāī āp gavāi sukh pāiā .16.2.24.
O Nanak, through the Naam, the Name of the Lord, glorious greatness is obtained. Eradicating self-conceit, peace is found. ||16||2||24||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਸਚਾ ਆਪਿ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
sachā āp savāranahārā .
The Lord Lord Himself is the One who exalts and embellishes.
ਅਵਰ ਨ ਸੂਝਸਿ ਬੀਜੀ ਕਾਰਾ ॥
avar n sūjhas bījī kārā .
Do not consider any other work.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਚੁ ਵਸੈ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧॥
guramukh sach vasai ghat antar sahajē sach samāī hē .1.
The True Lord abides deep within the heart of the Gurmukh, who intuitively merges in the True Lord. ||1||
ਸਭਨਾ ਸਚੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
sabhanā sach vasai man māhī .
The True Lord dwells within the minds of all.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥
gur parasādī sahaj samāhī .
By Guru's Grace, they are intuitively absorbed in Him.
ਗੁਰੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਤ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੨॥
gur gur karat sadā sukh pāiā gur charanī chit lāī hē .2.
Calling out, "Guru, Guru", I have found eternal peace; my consciousness is focused on the Guru's feet. ||2||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਹੈ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਹੈ ਪੂਜਾ ॥
satigur hai giān satigur hai pūjā .
The True Guru is spiritual wisdom; the True Guru is worship and adoration.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੀ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ॥
satigur sēvī avar n dūjā .
I serve the True Guru, and no other.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਭਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੩॥
satigur tē nām ratan dhan pāiā satigur kī sēvā bhāī hē .3.
From the True Guru, I have obtained the wealth, the jewel of the Naam. Service to the True Guru is pleasing to me. ||3||
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੋ ਦੂਜੈ ਲਾਗੇ ॥
bin satigur jō dūjai lāgē .
Without the True Guru, those who are attached to duality
ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਮਰਹਿ ਅਭਾਗੇ ॥
āvah jāh bhram marah abhāgē .
come and go, and wander in reincarnation; these unfortunate ones die.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਜਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਹਹਿ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੪॥
nānak tin kī phir gat hōvai j guramukh rahah saranāī hē .4.
O Nanak, even after they are emancipated, those who become Gurmukh remain in the Guru's Sanctuary. ||4||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਾਚੀ ॥
guramukh prīt sadā hai sāchī .
The love of the Gurmukh is forever true.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮਾਗਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਜਾਚੀ ॥
satigur tē māgau nām ajāchī .
I beg for the invaluable Naam, the Name of the Lord, from the Guru.
ਹੋਹੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੫॥
hōh daiāl kripā kar har jīu rakh lēvah gur saranāī hē .5.
O Dear Lord, please be kind, and grant Your Grace; please keep me in the Guru's Sanctuary. ||5||
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਚੁਆਇਆ ॥
anmrit ras satigurū chuāiā .
The True Guru trickles the Ambrosial Nectar into my mouth.
ਦਸਵੈ ਦੁਆਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ਆਇਆ ॥
dasavai duār pragat hōi āiā .
My Tenth Gate has been opened and revealed.
ਤਹ ਅਨਹਦ ਸਬਦ ਵਜਹਿ ਧੁਨਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੬॥
tah anahad sabad vajah dhun bānī sahajē sahaj samāī hē .6.
The unstruck sound current of the Shabad vibrates and resounds there, with the melody of the Guru's Bani; one is easily, intuitively absorbed in the Lord. ||6||
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਕਰਤੈ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
jin kau karatai dhur likh pāī .
Those who are so pre-ordained by the Creator,
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਤ ਵਿਹਾਈ ॥
anadin gur gur karat vihāī .
pass their nights and days calling on the Guru.
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੋ ਸੀਝੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੭॥
bin satigur kō sījhai nāhī gur charanī chit lāī hē .7.
Without the True Guru, no one understands; focus your consciousness on the Guru's Feet. ||7||
ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਇ ॥
jis bhāvai tis āpē dēi .
The Lord Himself blesses those with whom He is pleased.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਲੇਇ ॥
guramukh nām padārath lēi .
The Gurmukh receives the wealth of the Naam.
ਆਪੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੮॥
āpē kripā karē nām dēvai nānak nām samāī hē .8.
When the Lord grants His Grace, He bestows the Naam; Nanak is immersed and absorbed in the Naam. ||8||
ਗਿਆਨ ਰਤਨੁ ਮਨਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
giān ratan man paragat bhaiā .
The jewel of spiritual wisdom is revealed within the mind.
ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਸਹਜੇ ਲਇਆ ॥
nām padārath sahajē laiā .
The wealth of the Naam is easily, intuitively received.
ਏਹ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੯॥
ēh vadiāī gur tē pāī satigur kau sad bal jāī hē .9.
This glorious greatness is obtained from the Guru; I am forever a sacrifice to the True Guru. ||9||
ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਆ ਸੂਰੁ ਨਿਸਿ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਅੰਧਿਆਰਾ ॥
pragatiā sūr nis mitiā andhiārā .
With the rising of the sun, the darkness of the night is dispelled.
ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਰਤਨਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
agiān mitiā gur ratan apārā .
Spiritual ignorance is eradicated, by the priceless jewel of the Guru.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਅਤਿ ਭਾਰੀ ਕਰਮਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੦॥
satigur giān ratan at bhārī karam milai sukh pāī hē .10.
The True Guru is the fantastically valuable jewel of spiritual wisdom; blessed by God's Mercy, peace is found. ||10||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੀ ਹੈ ਸੋਇ ॥
guramukh nām pragatī hai sōi .
The Gurmukh obtains the Naam, and his good reputation increases.
ਚਹੁ ਜੁਗਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹਛਾ ਲੋਇ ॥
chah jug niramal hashā lōi .
In all four ages he is considered to be pure and good.
ਨਾਮੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੧॥
nāmē nām ratē sukh pāiā nām rahiā liv lāī hē .11.
Imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord, he finds peace. He remains lovingly focused on the Naam. ||11||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ॥
guramukh nām parāpat hōvai .
The Gurmukh receives the Naam.
ਸਹਜੇ ਜਾਗੈ ਸਹਜੇ ਸੋਵੈ ॥
sahajē jāgai sahajē sōvai .
In intuitive peace he wakes, and in intuitive peace he sleeps.
