ਆਸ ਮਨੋਰਥੁ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਭੇਟਤ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
ās manōrath pūran hōvai bhētat gur darasāiā jīu .2.
His hopes and desires are fulfilled, when he gains the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan. ||2||
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਕਿਛੁ ਮਿਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੀ ॥
agam agōchar kish mit nahī jānī .
The limits of the Inaccessible and Unfathomable Lord cannot be known.
ਸਾਧਿਕ ਸਿਧ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਗਿਆਨੀ ॥
sādhik sidh dhiāvah giānī .
The seekers, the Siddhas, those beings of miraculous spiritual powers, and the spiritual teachers, all meditate on Him.
ਖੁਦੀ ਮਿਟੀ ਚੂਕਾ ਭੋਲਾਵਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
khudī mitī chūkā bhōlāvā gur man hī mah pragatāiā jīu .3.
Thus, their egos are erased, and their doubts are dispelled. The Guru has enlightened their minds. ||3||
ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥ ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਨਾ ॥
anad mangal kaliān nidhānā . sūkh sahaj har nām vakhānā .
I chant the Name of the Lord, the Treasure of bliss, joy, salvation, intuitive peace and poise.
ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਪਨਾ ਨਾਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨੫॥੩੨॥
hōi kripāl suāmī apanā nāu nānak ghar mah āiā jīu .4.25.32.
When my Lord and Master blessed me with His Mercy, O Nanak, then His Name entered the home of my mind. ||4||25||32||

Maajh, Fifth Mehl:
ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਸੋਇ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥
sun sun jīvā sōi tumārī .
Hearing of You, I live.
ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਅਤਿ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
tūn prītam thākur at bhārī .
You are my Beloved, my Lord and Master, Utterly Great.
ਤੁਮਰੇ ਕਰਤਬ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਓਟ ਗੋੁਪਾਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
tumarē karatab tum hī jānah tumarī ōt gōpālā jīu .1.
You alone know Your Ways; I grasp Your Support, Lord of the World. ||1||
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਤ ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਹੋਵੈ ॥
gun gāvat man hariā hōvai .
Singing Your Glorious Praises, my mind is rejuvenated.
ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਤ ਮਲੁ ਸਗਲੀ ਖੋਵੈ ॥
kathā sunat mal sagalī khōvai .
Hearing Your Sermon, all filth is removed.
ਭੇਟਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਸਦਾ ਜਪਉ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
bhētat sang sādh santan kai sadā japau daiālā jīu .2.
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I meditate forever on the Merciful Lord. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਮਾਰਉ ॥
prabh apunā sās sās samārau .
I dwell on my God with each and every breath.
ਇਹ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮਨਿ ਧਾਰਉ ॥
ih mat gur prasād man dhārau .
This understanding has been implanted within my mind, by Guru's Grace.
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਾ ਸਰਬ ਮਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
tumarī kripā tē hōi pragāsā sarab maiā pratipālā jīu .3.
By Your Grace, the Divine Light has dawned. The Merciful Lord cherishes everyone. ||3||
ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
sat sat sat prabh sōī .
True, True, True is that God.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਦ ਆਪੇ ਹੋਈ ॥
sadā sadā sad āpē hōī .
Forever, forever and ever, He Himself is.
ਚਲਿਤ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਏ ਨਿਹਾਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨੬॥੩੩॥
chalit tumārē pragat piārē dēkh nānak bhaē nihālā jīu .4.26.33.
Your Playful Ways are revealed, O my Beloved. Beholding them, Nanak is enraptured. ||4||26||33||

mājh mahalā 5 .
Maajh, Fifth Mehl:
ਹੁਕਮੀ ਵਰਸਣ ਲਾਗੇ ਮੇਹਾ ॥
hukamī varasan lāgē mēhā .
By His Command, the rain begins to fall.
ਸਾਜਨ ਸੰਤ ਮਿਲਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੇਹਾ ॥
sājan sant mil nām japēhā .
The Saints and friends have met to chant the Naam.
ਸੀਤਲ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਠਾਢਿ ਪਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
sītal sānht sahaj sukh pāiā thādh pāī prabh āpē jīu .1.
Serene tranquility and peaceful ease have come; God Himself has brought a deep and profound peace. ||1||
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਬਹੁਤੋ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥
sabh kish bahutō bahut upāiā .
God has produced everything in great abundance.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸਗਲ ਰਜਾਇਆ ॥
kar kirapā prabh sagal rajāiā .
Granting His Grace, God has satisfied all.
ਦਾਤਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਾਤਾਰਾ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਧ੍ਰਾਪੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
dāt karah mērē dātārā jī jant sabh dhrāpē jīu .2.
Bless us with Your Gifts, O my Great Giver. All beings and creatures are satisfied. ||2||
ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਚੀ ਨਾਈ ॥
sachā sāhib sachī nāī .
True is the Master, and True is His Name.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈ ॥
gur parasād tis sadā dhiāī .
By Guru's Grace, I meditate forever on Him.
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਭੈ ਕਾਟੇ ਮੋਹਾ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸੋਗ ਸੰਤਾਪੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
janam maran bhai kātē mōhā binasē sōg santāpē jīu .3.
The fear of birth and death has been dispelled; emotional attachment, sorrow and suffering have been erased. ||3||
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੇ ॥
sās sās nānak sālāhē .
With each and every breath, Nanak praises the Lord.
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਾਟੇ ਸਭਿ ਫਾਹੇ ॥
simarat nām kātē sabh phāhē .
Meditating in remembrance on the Name, all bonds are cut away.
ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸ ਕਰੀ ਖਿਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਜਾਪੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨੭॥੩੪॥
pūran ās karī khin bhītar har har har gun jāpē jīu .4.27.34.
One's hopes are fulfilled in an instant, chanting the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har, Har. ||4||27||34||

Maajh, Fifth Mehl:
ਆਉ ਸਾਜਨ ਸੰਤ ਮੀਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
āu sājan sant mīt piārē .
Come, dear friends, Saints and companions:
ਮਿਲਿ ਗਾਵਹ ਗੁਣ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੇ ॥
mil gāvah gun agam apārē .
let us join together and sing the Glorious Praises of the Inaccessible and Infinite Lord.
ਗਾਵਤ ਸੁਣਤ ਸਭੇ ਹੀ ਮੁਕਤੇ ਸੋ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਮ ਕੀਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
gāvat sunat sabhē hī mukatē sō dhiāīai jin ham kīē jīu .1.
Those who sing and hear these praises are liberated, so let us meditate on the One who created us. ||1||
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਜਾਵਹਿ ॥
janam janam kē kilabikh jāvah .
The sins of countless incarnations depart,
ਮਨਿ ਚਿੰਦੇ ਸੇਈ ਫਲ ਪਾਵਹਿ ॥
man chindē sēī phal pāvah .
and we receive the fruits of the mind's desires.
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸੋ ਸਚੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸਭਸੁ ਕਉ ਦੀਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
simar sāhib sō sach suāmī rijak sabhas kau dīē jīu .2.
So meditate on that Lord, our True Lord and Master, who gives sustenance to all. ||2||
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
nām japat sarab sukh pāīai .
Chanting the Naam, all pleasures are obtained.
ਸਭੁ ਭਉ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥
sabh bhau binasai har har dhiāīai .
All fears are erased, meditating on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਜਿਨਿ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਸੋ ਪਾਰਗਿਰਾਮੀ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਗਲੇ ਥੀਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
jin sēviā sō pāragirāmī kāraj sagalē thīē jīu .3.
One who serves the Lord swims across to the other side, and all his affairs are resolved. ||3||
ਆਇ ਪਇਆ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥
āi paiā tērī saranāī .
I have come to Your Sanctuary;
ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਲੈਹਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥
jiu bhāvai tiu laih milāī .
if it pleases You, unite me with You.
