ਆਪੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਨੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਤੁਮ ਸਾ ਮੀਤੁ ਨ ਅਵਰੁ ਕੋਈ ॥
āp bīchār mār man dēkhiā tum sā mīt n avar kōī .
Reflecting upon my self, and conquering my mind, I have seen that there is no other friend like You.
ਜਿਉ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਖਹਿ ਤਿਵ ਹੀ ਰਹਣਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਦੇਵਹਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੋਈ ॥੩॥
jiu tūn rākhah tiv hī rahanā dukh sukh dēvah karah sōī .3.
As You keep me, so do I live. You are the Giver of peace and pleasure. Whatever You do, comes to pass. ||3||
ਆਸਾ ਮਨਸਾ ਦੋਊ ਬਿਨਾਸਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਗੁਣ ਆਸ ਨਿਰਾਸ ਭਈ ॥
āsā manasā dōū bināsat trih gun ās nirās bhaī .
Hope and desire have both been dispelled; I have renounced my longing for the three qualities.
ਤੁਰੀਆਵਸਥਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਕੀ ਓਟ ਲਹੀ ॥੪॥
turīāvasathā guramukh pāīai sant sabhā kī ōt lahī .4.
The Gurmukh obtains the state of ecstasy, taking to the Shelter of the Saints' Congregation. ||4||
ਗਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਸਗਲੇ ਸਭਿ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵਾ ॥
giān dhiān sagalē sabh jap tap jis har hiradai alakh abhēvā .
All wisdom and meditation, all chanting and penance, come to one whose heart is filled with the Invisible, Inscrutable Lord.
ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪਾਏ ਸਹਜ ਸੇਵਾ ॥੫॥੨੨॥
nānak rām nām man rātā guramat pāē sahaj sēvā .5.22.
O Nanak, one whose mind is imbued with the Lord's Name, finds the Guru's Teachings, and intuitively serves. ||5||22||

ਕਾਚੀ ਗਾਗਰਿ ਦੇਹ ਦੁਹੇਲੀ ਉਪਜੈ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ॥
kāchī gāgar dēh duhēlī upajai binasai dukh pāī .
The clay pitcher of the body is miserable; it suffers in pain through birth and death.
ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਕਿਉ ਤਰੀਐ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥
ih jag sāgar dutar kiu tarīai bin har gur pār n pāī .1.
How can this terrifying world-ocean be crossed over? Without the Lord - Guru, it cannot be crossed. ||1||
ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ਹਰੇ ॥
tujh bin avar n kōī mērē piārē tujh bin avar n kōi harē .
Without You, there is no other at all, O my Beloved; without you, there is no other at all.
ਸਰਬੀ ਰੰਗੀ ਰੂਪੀ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਖਸੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sarabī rangī rūpī tūnhai tis bakhasē jis nadar karē .1. rahāu .
You are in all colors and forms; he alone is forgiven, upon whom You bestow Your Glance of Grace. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਸੁ ਬੁਰੀ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸੁ ਨ ਦੇਵੈ ਪਿਰ ਸਿਉ ਮਿਲਣ ਨ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਰੀ ॥
sās burī ghar vās n dēvai pir siu milan n dēi burī .
Maya, my mother-in-law, is evil; she does not let me live in my own home. The vicious one does not let me meet with my Husband Lord.
ਸਖੀ ਸਾਜਨੀ ਕੇ ਹਉ ਚਰਨ ਸਰੇਵਉ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਨਦਰਿ ਧਰੀ ॥੨॥
sakhī sājanī kē hau charan sarēvau har gur kirapā tē nadar dharī .2.
I serve at the feet of my companions and friends; the Lord has showered me with His Mercy, through Guru's Grace. ||2||
