ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮ ਤੂੰ ਐਸਾ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
rājā rām tūn aisā nirabhau taran tāran rām rāiā .1. rahāu .
O my Sovereign Lord King, You are Fearless; You are the Carrier to carry us across, O my Lord King. ||1||Pause||
ਜਬ ਹਮ ਹੋਤੇ ਤਬ ਤੁਮ ਨਾਹੀ ਅਬ ਤੁਮ ਹਹੁ ਹਮ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
jab ham hōtē tab tum nāhī ab tum hah ham nāhī .
When I was, then You were not; now that You are, I am not.
ਅਬ ਹਮ ਤੁਮ ਏਕ ਭਏ ਹਹਿ ਏਕੈ ਦੇਖਤ ਮਨੁ ਪਤੀਆਹੀ ॥੧॥
ab ham tum ēk bhaē hah ēkai dēkhat man patīāhī .1.
Now, You and I have become one; seeing this, my mind is content. ||1||
ਜਬ ਬੁਧਿ ਹੋਤੀ ਤਬ ਬਲੁ ਕੈਸਾ ਅਬ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਲੁ ਨ ਖਟਾਈ ॥
jab budh hōtī tab bal kaisā ab budh bal n khatāī .
When there was wisdom, how could there be strength? Now that there is wisdom, strength cannot prevail.
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਬੁਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਈ ਮੇਰੀ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਦਲੀ ਸਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੨॥੨੧॥੭੨॥
kah kabīr budh har laī mērī budh badalī sidh pāī .2.21.72.
Says Kabeer, the Lord has taken away my wisdom, and I have attained spiritual perfection. ||2||21||72||
