Shalok, Fifth Mehl:
ਧਰਣਿ ਸੁਵੰਨੀ ਖੜ ਰਤਨ ਜੜਾਵੀ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਨਿ ਵੁਠਾ ॥
dharan suvannī khar ratan jarāvī har prēm purakh man vuthā .
Like the beautiful earth, adorned with jewels of grass - such is the mind, within which the Love of the Lord abides.
ਸਭੇ ਕਾਜ ਸੁਹੇਲੜੇ ਥੀਏ ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤੁਠਾ ॥੧॥
sabhē kāj suhēlarē thīē gur nānak satigur tuthā .1.
All one's affairs are easily resolved, O Nanak, when the Guru, the True Guru, is pleased. ||1||

mah 5 .
Fifth Mehl:
ਫਿਰਦੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਾ ਜਲ ਪਰਬਤ ਬਨਰਾਇ ॥
phiradī phiradī dah disā jal parabat banarāi .
Roaming and wandering in the ten directions, over water, mountains and forests
ਜਿਥੈ ਡਿਠਾ ਮਿਰਤਕੋ ਇਲ ਬਹਿਠੀ ਆਇ ॥੨॥
jithai dithā miratakō il bahithī āi .2.
- wherever the vulture sees a dead body, he flies down and lands. ||2||

Pauree:
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਫਲ ਲੋੜੀਅਹਿ ਸੋ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਵਉ ॥
jis sarab sukhā phal lōrīah sō sach kamāvau .
One who longs for all comforts and rewards should practice Truth.
ਨੇੜੈ ਦੇਖਉ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਇਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥
nērai dēkhau pārabraham ik nām dhiāvau .
Behold the Supreme Lord God near you, and meditate on the Naam, the Name of the One Lord.
ਹੋਇ ਸਗਲ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਮਾਵਉ ॥
hōi sagal kī rēnukā har sang samāvau .
Become the dust of all men's feet, and so merge with the Lord.
ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਦੇਈ ਕਿਸੈ ਜੀਅ ਪਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਵਉ ॥
dūkh n dēī kisai jī pat siu ghar jāvau .
Do not cause any being to suffer, and you shall go to your true home with honor.
ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਣਾਵਉ ॥੧੭॥
patit punīt karatā purakh nānak sunāvau .17.
Nanak speaks of the Purifier of sinners, the Creator, the Primal Being. ||17||
