Shalok, Fifth Mehl:
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਈ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਸੁਹਾਵੜਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਵੈ ਚਿਤਿ ॥
nānak sōī dinas suhāvarā jit prabh āvai chit .
O Nanak, that day is beautiful, when God comes to mind.
ਜਿਤੁ ਦਿਨਿ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਫਿਟੁ ਭਲੇਰੀ ਰੁਤਿ ॥੧॥
jit din visarai pārabraham phit bhalērī rut .1.
Cursed is that day, no matter how pleasant the season, when the Supreme Lord God is forgotten. ||1||

mah 5 .
Fifth Mehl:
ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾਈ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਿਸ ਕੈ ਹਾਥਿ ॥
nānak mitrāī tis siu sabh kish jis kai hāth .
O Nanak, become friends with the One, who holds everything in His hands.
ਕੁਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਸੇਈ ਕਾਂਢੀਅਹਿ ਇਕ ਵਿਖ ਨ ਚਲਹਿ ਸਾਥਿ ॥੨॥
kumitrā sēī kānhdhīah ik vikh n chalah sāth .2.
They are accounted as false friends, who do not go with you, for even one step. ||2||

Pauree:
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਪੀਵਹੁ ਭਾਈ ॥
anmrit nām nidhān hai mil pīvah bhāī .
The treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is Ambrosial Nectar; meet together and drink it in, O Siblings of Destiny.
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਭ ਤਿਖਾ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥
jis simarat sukh pāīai sabh tikhā bujhāī .
Remembering Him in meditation, peace is found, and all thirst is quenched.
ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗੁਰ ਭੁਖ ਰਹੈ ਨ ਕਾਈ ॥
kar sēvā pārabraham gur bhukh rahai n kāī .
So serve the Supreme Lord God and the Guru, and you shall never be hungry again.
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੁੰਨਿਆ ਅਮਰਾ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਈ ॥
sagal manōrath punniā amarā pad pāī .
All your desires shall be fulfilled, and you shall obtain the status of immortality.
ਤੁਧੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਤੂਹੈ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੩॥
tudh jēvad tūhai pārabraham nānak saranāī .3.
You alone are as great as Yourself, O Supreme Lord God; Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary. ||3||
