ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਿਆ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰੁ ॥
jal thal mahīal pūriā suāmī sirajanahār .
The Creator Lord and Master is pervading the water, the land, and the sky.
ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
anik bhānht hōi pasariā nānak ēkankār .1.
In so many ways, the One, the Universal Creator has diffused Himself, O Nanak. ||1||

ਏਕਮ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਰਉ ਬੰਦਨਾ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
ēkam ēkankār prabh karau bandanā dhiāi .
The first day of the lunar cycle: Bow in humility and meditate on the One, the Universal Creator Lord God.
ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੁਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰਉ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥
gun gōbind gupāl prabh saran parau har rāi .
Praise God, the Lord of the Universe, the Sustainer of the World; seek the Sanctuary of the Lord, our King.
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਆਸ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਸੁਖ ਜਾ ਤੇ ਸਭੁ ਕਛੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
tā kī ās kaliān sukh jā tē sabh kash hōi .
Place your hopes in Him, for salvation and peace; all things come from Him.
ਚਾਰਿ ਕੁੰਟ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਓ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
chār kunt dah dis bhramiō tis bin avar n kōi .
I wandered around the four corners of the world and in the ten directions, but I saw nothing except Him.
ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸੁਨੇ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਰਉ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
bēd purān simrit sunē bah bidh karau bīchār .
I listened to the Vedas, the Puraanas and the Simritees, and I pondered over them in so many ways.
ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਭੈ ਹਰਨ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥
patit udhāran bhai haran sukh sāgar nirankār .
The Saving Grace of sinners, the Destroyer of fear, the Ocean of peace, the Formless Lord.
ਦਾਤਾ ਭੁਗਤਾ ਦੇਨਹਾਰੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
dātā bhugatā dēnahār tis bin avar n jāi .
The Great Giver, the Enjoyer, the Bestower - there is no place at all without Him.
ਜੋ ਚਾਹਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਮਿਲੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ॥੧॥
jō chāhah sōī milai nānak har gun gāi .1.
You shall obtain all that you desire, O Nanak, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਨੀਤ ॥
gōbind jas gāīai har nīt .
Sing the Praises of the Lord, the Lord of the Universe, each and every day.
ਮਿਲਿ ਭਜੀਐ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mil bhajīai sādhasang mērē mīt .1. rahāu .
Join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and vibrate, meditate on Him, O my friend. ||1||Pause||
