ਬਨਿ ਤਿਨਿ ਪਰਬਤਿ ਹੈ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ॥
ban tin parabat hai pārabraham .
In the forests, fields and mountains, He is the Supreme Lord God.
ਜੈਸੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਤੈਸਾ ਕਰਮੁ ॥
jaisī āgiā taisā karam .
As He orders, so do His creatures act.
ਪਉਣ ਪਾਣੀ ਬੈਸੰਤਰ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
paun pānī baisantar māh .
He permeates the winds and the waters.
ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਤਰਾਇਆ ॥
jis prasād sabh jagat tarāiā .
by his grace, the whole world is saved.
ਜਨ ਆਵਨ ਕਾ ਇਹੈ ਸੁਆਉ ॥
jan āvan kā ihai suāu .
This is his purpose in life;
ਜਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਨਾਉ ॥
jan kai sang chit āvai nāu .
in the Company of this humble servant, the Lord's Name comes to mind.
ਚਾਰਿ ਕੁੰਟ ਦਹ ਦਿਸੇ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥
chār kunt dah disē samāh .
He is pervading in the four corners and in the ten directions.
ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਭਿੰਨ ਨਹੀ ਕੋ ਠਾਉ ॥
tis tē bhinn nahī kō thāu .
Without Him, there is no place at all.
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਉ ॥੨॥
gur prasād nānak sukh pāu .2.
By Guru's Grace, O Nanak, peace is obtained. ||2||
ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਦੇਖੁ ॥
bēd purān sinmrit mah dēkh .
See Him in the Vedas, the Puraanas and the Simritees.
ਆਪਿ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
āp mukat mukat karai sansār .
He Himself is liberated, and He liberates the universe.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ ॥੮॥੨੩॥
nānak tis jan kau sadā namasakār .8.23.
O Nanak, to that humble servant, I bow in reverence forever. ||8||23||
ਸਸੀਅਰ ਸੂਰ ਨਖ੍ਯਤ੍ਰ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੁ ॥
sasīar sūr nakhyatr mah ēk .
In the moon, the sun and the stars, He is the One.
ਬਾਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਬੋਲੈ ॥
bānī prabh kī sabh kō bōlai .
The Bani of God's Word is spoken by everyone.
ਆਪਿ ਅਡੋਲੁ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਡੋਲੈ ॥
āp adōl n kabahū dōlai .
He Himself is unwavering - He never wavers.
ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਕਰਿ ਖੇਲੈ ਖੇਲ ॥
sarab kalā kar khēlai khēl .
With absolute power, He plays His play.
ਮੋਲਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਣਹ ਅਮੋਲ ॥
mōl n pāīai gunah amōl .
His value cannot be estimated; His virtues are invaluable.
ਸਰਬ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਜੋਤਿ ॥
sarab jōt mah jā kī jōt .
In all light, is His Light.
ਧਾਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ॥
dhār rahiō suāmī ōt pōt .
The Lord and Master supports the weave of the fabric of the universe.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਭਰਮ ਕਾ ਨਾਸੁ ॥
gur parasād bharam kā nās .
By Guru's Grace, doubt is dispelled.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਏਹੁ ਬਿਸਾਸੁ ॥੩॥
nānak tin mah ēh bisās .3.
O Nanak, this faith is firmly implanted within. ||3||
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਾ ਪੇਖਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ॥
sant janā kā pēkhan sabh braham .
In the eye of the Saint, everything is God.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਭਿ ਧਰਮ ॥
sant janā kai hiradai sabh dharam .
In the heart of the Saint, everything is Dharma.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਸੁਨਹਿ ਸੁਭ ਬਚਨ ॥
sant janā sunah subh bachan .
The Saint hears words of goodness.
ਸਰਬ ਬਿਆਪੀ ਰਾਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਚਨ ॥
sarab biāpī rām sang rachan .
He is absorbed in the All-pervading Lord.
ਜਿਨਿ ਜਾਤਾ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਰਹਤ ॥
jin jātā tis kī ih rahat .
This is the way of life of one who knows God.
ਸਤਿ ਬਚਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਭਿ ਕਹਤ ॥
sat bachan sādhū sabh kahat .
True are all the words spoken by the Holy.
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਹੋਇ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਖੁ ਮਾਨੈ ॥
jō jō hōi sōī sukh mānai .
Whatever happens, he peacefully accepts.
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨਹਾਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
karan karāvanahār prabh jānai .
He knows God as the Doer, the Cause of causes.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਸੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਭੀ ਓਹੀ ॥
antar basē bāhar bhī ōhī .
He dwells inside, and outside as well.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਸਭ ਮੋਹੀ ॥੪॥
nānak darasan dēkh sabh mōhī .4.
O Nanak, beholding the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, all are fascinated. ||4||
ਆਪਿ ਸਤਿ ਕੀਆ ਸਭੁ ਸਤਿ ॥
āp sat kīā sabh sat .
He Himself is True, and all that He has made is True.
ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇ ਸਗਲੀ ਉਤਪਤਿ ॥
tis prabh tē sagalī utapat .
The entire creation came from God.
ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਕਰੇ ਬਿਸਥਾਰੁ ॥
tis bhāvai tā karē bisathār .
As it pleases Him, He creates the expanse.
ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
tis bhāvai tā ēkankār .
As it pleases Him, He becomes the One and Only again.
ਅਨਿਕ ਕਲਾ ਲਖੀ ਨਹ ਜਾਇ ॥
anik kalā lakhī nah jāi .
His powers are so numerous, they cannot be known.
ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
jis bhāvai tis laē milāi .
As it pleases Him, He merges us into Himself again.
ਕਵਨ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਕਵਨ ਕਹੀਐ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
kavan nikat kavan kahīai dūr .
Who is near, and who is far away?
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥
āpē āp āp bharapūr .
He Himself is Himself pervading everywhere.
ਅੰਤਰਗਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਜਨਾਏ ॥
antaragat jis āp janāē .
One whom God causes to know that He is within the heart
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥੫॥
nānak tis jan āp bujhāē .5.
- O Nanak, He causes that person to understand Him. ||5||
ਸਰਬ ਭੂਤ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ॥
sarab bhūt āp varatārā .
In all forms, He Himself is pervading.
ਸਰਬ ਨੈਨ ਆਪਿ ਪੇਖਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
sarab nain āp pēkhanahārā .
Through all eyes, He Himself is watching.
ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਤਨਾ ॥
sagal samagrī jā kā tanā .
All the creation is His Body.
ਆਪਨ ਜਸੁ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸੁਨਾ ॥
āpan jas āp hī sunā .
He Himself listens to His Own Praise.
ਆਵਨ ਜਾਨੁ ਇਕੁ ਖੇਲੁ ਬਨਾਇਆ ॥
āvan jān ik khēl banāiā .
The One has created the drama of coming and going.
ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਕੀਨੀ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
āgiākārī kīnī māiā .
He made Maya subservient to His Will.

ਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਧੇਰ ਬਿਨਾਸੁ ॥
giān anjan gur dīā agiān andhēr binās .
The Guru has given the healing ointment of spiritual wisdom, and dispelled the darkness of ignorance.
ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
har kirapā tē sant bhētiā nānak man paragās .1.
By the Lord's Grace, I have met the Saint; O Nanak, my mind is enlightened. ||1||
ਸਭ ਕੈ ਮਧਿ ਅਲਿਪਤੋ ਰਹੈ ॥
sabh kai madh alipatō rahai .
In the midst of all, He remains unattached.
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਹਣਾ ਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਕਹੈ ॥
jō kish kahanā s āpē kahai .
Whatever is said, He Himself says.
ਆਗਿਆ ਆਵੈ ਆਗਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
āgiā āvai āgiā jāi .
By His Will we come, and by His Will we go.

ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਡੀਠਾ ॥
santasang antar prabh dīthā .
In the Society of the Saints, I see God deep within my being.
ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਾ ਲਾਗਾ ਮੀਠਾ ॥
nām prabhū kā lāgā mīthā .
God's Name is sweet to me.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਲਏ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੬॥
nānak jā bhāvai tā laē samāi .6.
O Nanak, when it pleases Him, then He absorbs us into Himself. ||6||
ਇਸ ਤੇ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਬੁਰਾ ॥
is tē hōi s nāhī burā .
If it comes from Him, it cannot be bad.
ਓਰੈ ਕਹਹੁ ਕਿਨੈ ਕਛੁ ਕਰਾ ॥
ōrai kahah kinai kash karā .
Other than Him, who can do anything?
ਸਗਲ ਸਮਿਗ੍ਰੀ ਏਕਸੁ ਘਟ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
sagal samigrī ēkas ghat māh .
All things are contained in the Heart of the One,
ਅਨਿਕ ਰੰਗ ਨਾਨਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਹਿ ॥
anik rang nānā drisatāh .
although they appear in so many various colors.
ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
nau nidh anmrit prabh kā nām .
The nine treasures are in the Ambrosial Name of God.
ਆਪਿ ਭਲਾ ਕਰਤੂਤਿ ਅਤਿ ਨੀਕੀ ॥
āp bhalā karatūt at nīkī .
He Himself is good; His actions are the very best.
ਆਪੇ ਜਾਨੈ ਅਪਨੇ ਜੀ ਕੀ ॥
āpē jānai apanē jī kī .
He Himself knows His Own Being.
ਆਪਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਧਾਰੀ ਸਭ ਸਾਚੁ ॥
āp sāch dhārī sabh sāch .
He Himself is True, and all that He has established is True.
ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਆਪਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਚੁ ॥
ōt pōt āpan sang rāch .
Through and through, He is blended with His creation.
ਦੇਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਇਸ ਕਾ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁ ॥
dēhī mah is kā bisrām .
Within the human body is its place of rest.
ਸੁੰਨ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਅਨਹਤ ਤਹ ਨਾਦ ॥
sunn samādh anahat tah nād .
The Deepest Samaadhi, and the unstruck sound current of the Naad are there.
ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਅਚਰਜ ਬਿਸਮਾਦ ॥
kahan n jāī acharaj bisamād .
The wonder and marvel of it cannot be described.
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
tā kī gat mit kahī n jāi .
His state and extent cannot be described.
ਦੂਸਰ ਹੋਇ ਤ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਇ ॥
dūsar hōi t sōjhī pāi .
If there were another like Him, then only he could understand Him.
ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ਸਭੁ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥
tis kā kīā sabh paravān .
His actions are all approved and accepted.
ਤਿਨਿ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਦਿਖਾਏ ॥
tin dēkhiā jis āp dikhāē .
He alone sees it, unto whom God Himself reveals it.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਏ ॥੧॥
nānak tis jan sōjhī pāē .1.
O Nanak, that humble being understands. ||1||
ਸੋ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੋ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਅਨੰਤ ॥
sō antar sō bāhar anant .
The Infinite Lord is inside, and outside as well.
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਜਾਨੁ ॥੭॥
gur prasād nānak ih jān .7.
By Guru's Grace, O Nanak, this is known. ||7||
ਜੋ ਜਾਨੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
jō jānai tis sadā sukh hōi .
One who knows Him, obtains everlasting peace.
ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਲਏ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
āp milāi laē prabh sōi .
God blends that one into Himself.
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਬਿਆਪਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥
ghat ghat biāp rahiā bhagavant .
Deep within each and every heart, the Lord God is pervading.
ਧਰਨਿ ਮਾਹਿ ਆਕਾਸ ਪਇਆਲ ॥
dharan māh ākās paiāl .
In the earth, in the Akaashic ethers, and in the nether regions of the underworld
ਸਰਬ ਲੋਕ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥
sarab lōk pūran pratipāl .
- in all worlds, He is the Perfect Cherisher.
ਓਹੁ ਧਨਵੰਤੁ ਕੁਲਵੰਤੁ ਪਤਿਵੰਤੁ ॥
ōh dhanavant kulavant pativant .
He is wealth and prosperous, and of noble birth.
ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਭਗਵੰਤੁ ॥
jīvan mukat jis ridai bhagavant .
He is Jivan Mukta - liberated while yet alive; the Lord God abides in his heart.
ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਜਨੁ ਆਇਆ ॥
dhann dhann dhann jan āiā .
Blessed, blessed, blessed is the coming of that humble being;
