ਮੁਖਿ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਜਸੁ ਰਸਨ ਬਖਾਨੈ ॥
mukh tā kō jas rasan bakhānai .
with your mouth and with your tongue, chant His Praises.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤੇਰੋ ਰਹਤਾ ਧਰਮੁ ॥
jih prasād tērō rahatā dharam .
By His Grace, you remain in the Dharma;
ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਇ ਕੇਵਲ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ॥
man sadā dhiāi kēval pārabraham .
O mind, meditate continually on the Supreme Lord God.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ॥
prabh kirapā tē hōi pragās .
By God's Grace, enlightenment comes.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆ ਤੇ ਕਮਲ ਬਿਗਾਸੁ ॥
prabhū daiā tē kamal bigās .
By God's Kind Mercy, the heart-lotus blossoms forth.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਬਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਸੋਇ ॥
prabh suprasann basai man sōi .
When God is totally pleased, He comes to dwell in the mind.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਇਆ ਤੇ ਮਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਹੋਇ ॥
prabh daiā tē mat ūtam hōi .
By God's Kind Mercy, the intellect is exalted.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਜਪਤ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਾਨੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ॥
prabh jī japat daragah mān pāvah .
Meditating on God, you shall be honored in His Court;
ਨਾਨਕ ਪਤਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਵਹਿ ॥੨॥
nānak pat sētī ghar jāvah .2.
O Nanak, you shall return to your true home with honor. ||2||
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਇਆ ॥
sarab nidhān prabh tērī maiā .
All treasures, O Lord, come by Your Kind Mercy.
ਆਪਹੁ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਕਿਨਹੂ ਲਇਆ ॥
āpah kashū n kinahū laiā .
No one obtains anything by himself.
ਜਿਤੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਲਾਵਹੁ ਤਿਤੁ ਲਗਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਥ ॥
jit jit lāvah tit lagah har nāth .
As You have delegated, so do we apply ourselves, O Lord and Master.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਆਰੋਗ ਕੰਚਨ ਦੇਹੀ ॥
jih prasād ārōg kanchan dēhī .
By His Grace, you have a healthy, golden body;
ਲਿਵ ਲਾਵਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਰਾਮ ਸਨੇਹੀ ॥
liv lāvah tis rām sanēhī .
attune yourself to that Loving Lord.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਓਲਾ ਰਹਤ ॥
jih prasād tērā ōlā rahat .
By His Grace, your honor is preserved;
ਮਨ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਕਹਤ ॥
man sukh pāvah har har jas kahat .
O mind, chant the Praises of the Lord, Har, Har, and find peace.
ਨਾਨਕ ਇਨ ਕੈ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹਾਥ ॥੮॥੬॥
nānak in kai kashū n hāth .8.6.
O Nanak, nothing is in our hands. ||8||6||
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਗਲ ਛਿਦ੍ਰ ਢਾਕੇ ॥
jih prasād tērē sagal shidr dhākē .
By His Grace, all your deficits are covered;
ਮਨ ਸਰਨੀ ਪਰੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤਾ ਕੈ ॥
man saranī par thākur prabh tā kai .
O mind, seek the Sanctuary of God, our Lord and Master.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤੁਝੁ ਕੋ ਨ ਪਹੂਚੈ ॥
jih prasād tujh kō n pahūchai .
By His Grace, no one can rival you;
ਮਨ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਊਚੇ ॥
man sās sās simarah prabh ūchē .
O mind, with each and every breath, remember God on High.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਪਾਈ ਦ੍ਰੁਲਭ ਦੇਹ ॥
jih prasād pāī drulabh dēh .
By His Grace, you obtained this precious human body;
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇਹ ॥੩॥
nānak tā kī bhagat karēh .3.
O Nanak, worship Him with devotion. ||3||
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਆਭੂਖਨ ਪਹਿਰੀਜੈ ॥
jih prasād ābhūkhan pahirījai .
By His Grace, you wear decorations;
ਮਨ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਕਿਉ ਆਲਸੁ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
man tis simarat kiu ālas kījai .
O mind, why are you so lazy? Why don't you remember Him in meditation?
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਅਸ੍ਵ ਹਸਤਿ ਅਸਵਾਰੀ ॥
jih prasād asv hasat asavārī .
By His Grace, you have horses and elephants to ride;
ਮਨ ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਕਬਹੂ ਨ ਬਿਸਾਰੀ ॥
man tis prabh kau kabahū n bisārī .
O mind, never forget that God.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਬਾਗ ਮਿਲਖ ਧਨਾ ॥
jih prasād bāg milakh dhanā .
By His Grace, you have land, gardens and wealth;
ਰਾਖੁ ਪਰੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਮਨਾ ॥
rākh parōi prabh apunē manā .
keep God enshrined in your heart.
ਜਿਨਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਨ ਬਨਤ ਬਨਾਈ ॥
jin tērī man banat banāī .
O mind, the One who formed your form
ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਸਦ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਈ ॥
ūthat baithat sad tisah dhiāī .
- standing up and sitting down, meditate always on Him.
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਜੋ ਏਕ ਅਲਖੈ ॥
tisah dhiāi jō ēk alakhai .
Meditate on Him - the One Invisible Lord;
ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਖੈ ॥੪॥
īhā ūhā nānak tērī rakhai .4.
here and hereafter, O Nanak, He shall save you. ||4||
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਪੁੰਨ ਬਹੁ ਦਾਨ ॥
jih prasād karah punn bah dān .
By His Grace, you give donations in abundance to charities;
ਮਨ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਕਰਿ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਧਿਆਨ ॥
man āth pahar kar tis kā dhiān .
O mind, meditate on Him, twenty-four hours a day.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤੂ ਆਚਾਰ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੀ ॥
jih prasād tū āchār biuhārī .
By His Grace, you perform religious rituals and worldly duties;
ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਚਿਤਾਰੀ ॥
tis prabh kau sās sās chitārī .
think of God with each and every breath.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਰੂਪੁ ॥
jih prasād tērā sundar rūp .
By His Grace, your form is so beautiful;
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਸਦਾ ਅਨੂਪੁ ॥
sō prabh simarah sadā anūp .
constantly remember God, the Incomparably Beautiful One.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਨੀਕੀ ਜਾਤਿ ॥
jih prasād tērī nīkī jāt .
By His Grace, you have such high social status;
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
sō prabh simar sadā din rāt .
remember God always, day and night.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਤਿ ਰਹੈ ॥

By His Grace, your honor is preserved;

ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਅਰੁ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਇ ਅਹੰਮੇਵ ॥
kām krōdh ar lōbh mōh binas jāi ahanmēv .
Sexual desire, anger, greed and emotional attachment - may these be gone, and egotism as well.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਪੇਖਹਿ ਬਿਸਮਾਦ ॥
jih prasād pēkhah bisamād .
By His Grace, you behold amazing wonders.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸਨਾ ॥
jih prasād bōlah anmrit rasanā .
By His Grace, you speak ambrosial words with your tongue.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਹਜੇ ਬਸਨਾ ॥
jih prasād sukh sahajē basanā .
By His Grace, you abide in peace and ease.

By His Grace, you partake of the thirty-six delicacies;
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਸਤ ਕਰ ਚਲਹਿ ॥
jih prasād hasat kar chalah .
By His Grace, your hands move and work.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਫਲਹਿ ॥
jih prasād sanpūran phalah .
By His Grace, you are completely fulfilled.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ॥
jih prasād param gat pāvah .
By His Grace, you obtain the supreme status.
ਤਿਸੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਉ ਰਖੁ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
tis thākur kau rakh man māh .
enshrine that Lord and Master within your mind.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸੁਗੰਧਤ ਤਨਿ ਲਾਵਹਿ ॥
jih prasād sugandhat tan lāvah .
By His Grace, you apply scented oils to your body;
ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ॥
tis kau simarat param gat pāvah .
remembering Him, the supreme status is obtained.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਹਿ ॥
jih prasād sukh sahaj samāvah .
By His Grace, you are absorbed into celestial peace.
ਐਸਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਅਵਰ ਕਤ ਲਾਗਹੁ ॥
aisā prabh tiāg avar kat lāgah .
Why forsake God, and attach yourself to another?
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਜਾਗਹੁ ॥੬॥
gur prasād nānak man jāgah .6.
By Guru's Grace, O Nanak, awaken your mind! ||6||
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਬਸਹਿ ਸੁਖ ਮੰਦਰਿ ॥
jih prasād basah sukh mandar .
By His Grace, you dwell in the palace of peace;
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਸਦਾ ਮਨ ਅੰਦਰਿ ॥
tisah dhiāi sadā man andar .
meditate forever on Him within your mind.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਖ ਬਸਨਾ ॥
jih prasād grih sang sukh basanā .
By His Grace, you abide with your family in peace;
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥
jih prasād tūn pragat sansār .
By His Grace, you are famous all over the world;
ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਮਨਹੁ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ॥
tis prabh kau mūl n manah bisār .
never forget God from your mind.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ॥
jih prasād tērā paratāp .
By His Grace, you have prestige;
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਰਸਨਾ ॥
āth pahar simarah tis rasanā .
keep His remembrance upon your tongue, twenty-four hours a day.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਰੰਗ ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ॥
jih prasād rang ras bhōg .
By His Grace, you enjoy tastes and pleasures;
ਰੇ ਮਨ ਮੂੜ ਤੂ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਜਾਪੁ ॥
rē man mūr tū tā kau jāp .
O foolish mind, meditate on Him!
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
jih prasād tērē kāraj pūrē .
By His Grace, your works are completed;
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਜਾਨੁ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰੇ ॥
tisah jān man sadā hajūrē .
O mind, know Him to be close at hand.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਧਿਆਵਨ ਜੋਗ ॥੧॥
nānak sadā dhiāīai dhiāvan jōg .1.
O Nanak, meditate forever on the One, who is worthy of meditation. ||1||
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਪਾਟ ਪਟੰਬਰ ਹਢਾਵਹਿ ॥
jih prasād pāt patanbar hadhāvah .
By His Grace, you wear silks and satins;
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਕਤ ਅਵਰ ਲੁਭਾਵਹਿ ॥
tisah tiāg kat avar lubhāvah .
why abandon Him, to attach yourself to another?
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤੂੰ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਸਾਚੁ ॥
jih prasād tūn pāvah sāch .
By His Grace, you find the Truth;
ਰੇ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੂੰ ਤਾ ਸਿਉ ਰਾਚੁ ॥
rē man mērē tūn tā siu rāch .
O my mind, merge yourself into Him.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸਭ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
jih prasād sabh kī gat hōi .
By His Grace, everyone is saved;
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਸੇਜ ਸੋਈਜੈ ॥
jih prasād sukh sēj sōījai .
By His Grace, you sleep in a cozy bed;
ਮਨ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵੀਜੈ ॥
man āth pahar tā kā jas gāvījai .
O my mind, sing His Praises, twenty-four hours a day.
ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤੁਝੁ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਊ ਮਾਨੈ ॥
jih prasād tujh sabh kōū mānai .
By His Grace, you are honored by everyone;
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾਪੁ ਜਪੈ ਜਪੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੭॥
nānak jāp japai jap sōi .7.
O Nanak, meditate, and chant His Chant. ||7||
ਆਪਿ ਜਪਾਏ ਜਪੈ ਸੋ ਨਾਉ ॥
āp japāē japai sō nāu .
Those, whom He inspires to chant, chant His Name.
ਆਪਿ ਗਾਵਾਏ ਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਉ ॥
āp gāvāē s har gun gāu .
Those, whom He inspires to sing, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
