Shalok:
ਲਾਲਚ ਝੂਠ ਬਿਖੈ ਬਿਆਧਿ ਇਆ ਦੇਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਬਾਸ ॥
lālach jhūth bikhai biādh iā dēhī mah bās .
The afflictions of greed, falsehood and corruption abide in this body.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪੀਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੂਖਿ ਨਿਵਾਸ ॥੧॥
har har anmrit guramukh pīā nānak sūkh nivās .1.
Drinking in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord's Name, Har, Har, O Nanak, the Gurmukh abides in peace. ||1||

Pauree:
ਲਲਾ ਲਾਵਉ ਅਉਖਧ ਜਾਹੂ ॥
lalā lāvau aukhadh jāhū .
LALLA: One who takes the medicine of the Naam, the Name of the Lord,
ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਤਿਹ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਖਿਨਾਹੂ ॥
dūkh darad tih mitah khināhū .
is cured of his pain and sorrow in an instant.
ਨਾਮ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਜਿਹ ਰਿਦੈ ਹਿਤਾਵੈ ॥
nām aukhadh jih ridai hitāvai .
One whose heart is filled with the medicine of the Naam,
ਤਾਹਿ ਰੋਗੁ ਸੁਪਨੈ ਨਹੀ ਆਵੈ ॥
tāh rōg supanai nahī āvai .
is not infested with disease, even in his dreams.
ਹਰਿ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਸਭ ਘਟ ਹੈ ਭਾਈ ॥
har aukhadh sabh ghat hai bhāī .
The medicine of the Lord's Name is in all hearts, O Siblings of Destiny.
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਨ ਬਨਾਈ ॥
gur pūrē bin bidh n banāī .
Without the Perfect Guru, no one knows how to prepare it.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਆ ॥
gur pūrai sanjam kar dīā .
When the Perfect Guru gives the instructions to prepare it,
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਉ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੂਖ ਨ ਥੀਆ ॥੪੫॥
nānak tau phir dūkh n thīā .45.
then, O Nanak, one does not suffer illness again. ||45||
