ਞਤਨ ਕਰਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਅਨਿਕ ਬਿਧਿ ਰਹਨੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਮੀਤ ॥
ñatan karah tum anik bidh rahan n pāvah mīt .
You can try all sorts of things, but you still cannot remain here, my friend.
ਜੀਵਤ ਰਹਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਜਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ਪਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥
jīvat rahah har har bhajah nānak nām parīt .1.
But you shall live forevermore, O Nanak, if you vibrate and love the Naam, the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||

ਞੰਞਾ ਞਾਣਹੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਸਹੀ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਤ ਏਹ ਹੇਤ ॥
ñanñā ñānah drir sahī binas jāt ēh hēt .
NYANYA: Know this as absolutely correct, that that this ordinary love shall come to an end.
ਗਣਤੀ ਗਣਉ ਨ ਗਣਿ ਸਕਉ ਊਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ਕੇਤ ॥
ganatī ganau n gan sakau ūth sidhārē kēt .
You may count and calculate as much as you want, but you cannot count how many have arisen and departed.
ਞੋ ਪੇਖਉ ਸੋ ਬਿਨਸਤਉ ਕਾ ਸਿਉ ਕਰੀਐ ਸੰਗੁ ॥
ñō pēkhau sō binasatau kā siu karīai sang .
Whoever I see shall perish. With whom should I associate?
ਞਾਣਹੁ ਇਆ ਬਿਧਿ ਸਹੀ ਚਿਤ ਝੂਠਉ ਮਾਇਆ ਰੰਗੁ ॥
ñānah iā bidh sahī chit jhūthau māiā rang .
Know this as true in your consciousness, that the love of Maya is false.
ਞਾਣਤ ਸੋਈ ਸੰਤੁ ਸੁਇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਤੇ ਕੀਚਿਤ ਭਿੰਨ ॥
ñānat sōī sant sui bhram tē kīchit bhinn .
He alone knows, and he alone is a Saint, who is free of doubt.
ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਤੇ ਤਿਹ ਕਢਹੁ ਜਿਹ ਹੋਵਹੁ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ॥
andh kūp tē tih kadhah jih hōvah suprasann .
He is lifted up and out of the deep dark pit; the Lord is totally pleased with him.
ਞਾ ਕੈ ਹਾਥਿ ਸਮਰਥ ਤੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਰਨੈ ਜੋਗ ॥
ñā kai hāth samarath tē kāran karanai jōg .
God's Hand is All-powerful; He is the Creator, the Cause of causes.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਹ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਉ ਞਾਹੂ ਕੀਓ ਸੰਜੋਗ ॥੨੬॥
nānak tih usatat karau ñāhū kīō sanjōg .26.
O Nanak, praise the One, who joins us to Himself. ||26||
