ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਬਸਿ ਰਹੇ ਈਤ ਊਤ ਕੇ ਮੀਤ ॥
antar man tan bas rahē īt ūt kē mīt .
The One who dwells deep within the mind and body is your friend here and hereafter.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਉਪਦੇਸਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਪੀਐ ਨੀਤ ॥੧॥
gur pūrai upadēsiā nānak japīai nīt .1.
The Perfect Guru has taught me, O Nanak, to chant His Name continually. ||1||

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਤਾਸੁ ਕਉ ਜੋ ਅੰਤਿ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੋਇ ॥
anadin simarah tās kau jō ant sahāī hōi .
Night and day, meditate in remembrance on the One who will be your Help and Support in the end.
ਇਹ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਦਿਨ ਚਾਰਿ ਛਿਅ ਛਾਡਿ ਚਲਿਓ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਇ ॥
ih bikhiā din chār shi shād chaliō sabh kōi .
This poison shall last for only a few days; everyone must depart, and leave it behind.
ਕਾ ਕੋ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਧੀਆ ॥
kā kō māt pitā sut dhīā .
Who is our mother, father, son and daughter?
ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਕਛੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਲੀਆ ॥
grih banitā kash sang n līā .
Household, wife, and other things shall not go along with you.
ਐਸੀ ਸੰਚਿ ਜੁ ਬਿਨਸਤ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
aisī sanch j binasat nāhī .
So gather that wealth which shall never perish,
ਪਤਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਹੀ ॥
pat sētī apunai ghar jāhī .
so that you may go to your true home with honor.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਕਲਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
sādhasang kal kīratan gāiā .
