ਨਰ ਅਚੇਤ ਪਾਪ ਤੇ ਡਰੁ ਰੇ ॥
nar achēt pāp tē dar rē .
You people are unconscious; you should be afraid of sin.
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਸਗਲ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨ ਸਰਨਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਤੁਮ ਪਰੁ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dīn daiāl sagal bhai bhanjan saran tāh tum par rē .1. rahāu .
Seek the Sanctuary of the Lord, Merciful to the meek, Destroyer of all fear. ||1||Pause||
ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਜਾਸ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੀਐ ਮੋ ਧਰੁ ਰੇ ॥
bēd purān jās gun gāvat tā kō nām hīai mō dhar rē .
The Vedas and the Puraanas sing His Praises; enshrine His Name within your heart.
ਪਾਵਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਗਤਿ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਕਸਮਲ ਸਭ ਹਰੁ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
pāvan nām jagat mai har kō simar simar kasamal sabh har rē .1.
Pure and sublime is the Name of the Lord in the world. Remembering it in meditation, all sinful mistakes shall be washed away. ||1||
ਮਾਨਸ ਦੇਹ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨਹ ਪਾਵੈ ਕਛੂ ਉਪਾਉ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਾ ਕਰੁ ਰੇ ॥
mānas dēh bahur nah pāvai kashū upāu mukat kā kar rē .
You shall not obtain this human body again; make the effort - try to achieve liberation!
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਤ ਗਾਇ ਕਰੁਨਾ ਮੈ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰ ਕੈ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਰੁ ਰੇ ॥੨॥੯॥੨੫੧॥
nānak kahat gāi karunā mai bhav sāgar kai pār utar rē .2.9.251.
Says Nanak, sing of the Lord of compassion, and cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||9||251||
