ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਗਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਕਾ ਓਲਾ ॥
man mērē gah har nām kā ōlā .
O my mind, hold tight to the Support of the Lord's Name.
ਤੁਝੈ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਤਾਤਾ ਝੋਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tujhai n lāgai tātā jhōlā .1. rahāu .
The hot winds shall never even touch you. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਉ ਬੋਹਿਥੁ ਭੈ ਸਾਗਰ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
jiu bōhith bhai sāgar māh .
Like a boat in the ocean of fear;
ਅੰਧਕਾਰ ਦੀਪਕ ਦੀਪਾਹਿ ॥
andhakār dīpak dīpāh .
like a lamp which illumines the darkness;
ਅਗਨਿ ਸੀਤ ਕਾ ਲਾਹਸਿ ਦੂਖ ॥
agan sīt kā lāhas dūkh .
like fire which takes away the pain of cold
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਵਤ ਸੂਖ ॥੨॥
nām japat man hōvat sūkh .2.
- just so, chanting the Name, the mind becomes peaceful. ||2||
ਉਤਰਿ ਜਾਇ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਪਿਆਸ ॥
utar jāi tērē man kī piās .
The thirst of your mind shall be quenched,
ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਗਲੀ ਆਸ ॥
pūran hōvai sagalī ās .
and all hopes shall be fulfilled.
ਡੋਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੁਮਰਾ ਚੀਤੁ ॥
dōlai nāhī tumarā chīt .
Your consciousness shall not waver.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮੀਤ ॥੩॥
anmrit nām jap guramukh mīt .3.
Meditate on the Ambrosial Naam as Gurmukh, O my friend. ||3||
ਨਾਮੁ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
nām aukhadh sōī jan pāvai .
He alone receives the panacea, the medicine of the Naam,
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਦਿਵਾਵੈ ॥
kar kirapā jis āp divāvai .
unto whom the Lord, in His Grace, bestows it.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸੈ ॥
har har nām jā kai hiradai vasai .
One whose heart is filled with the Name of the Lord, Har, Har
ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਤਿਹ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਸੈ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੭੯॥
dūkh darad tih nānak nasai .4.10.79.
- O Nanak, his pains and sorrows are eliminated. ||4||10||79||
ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
gaurī guārērī mahalā 5 .

ਅਨਿਕ ਜਤਨ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਤ ਛੁਟਾਰਾ ॥
anik jatan nahī hōt shutārā .
By all sorts of efforts, people do not find salvation.
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਆਗਲ ਭਾਰਾ ॥
bahut siānap āgal bhārā .
Through clever tricks, the weight is only piled on more and more.
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੇਤ ॥
har kī sēvā niramal hēt .
Serving the Lord with a pure heart,
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੇਤ ॥੧॥
prabh kī daragah sōbhā sēt .1.
you shall be received with honor at God's Court. ||1||
