ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਰਹੁ ਲਗਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥
mai har nāmai har birah lagāī jīu .
The Lord has implanted a longing for the Lord's Name within me.
ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਿਤੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥
mērā har prabh mit milai sukh pāī jīu .
I have met the Lord God, my Best Friend, and I have found peace.
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥
har prabh dēkh jīvā mērī māī jīu .
Beholding my Lord God, I live, O my mother.
ਮੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਖਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
mērā nām sakhā har bhāī jīu .1.
The Lord's Name is my Friend and Brother. ||1||
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਜੀਉ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥
gun gāvah sant jīu mērē har prabh kērē jīu .
O Dear Saints, sing the Glorious Praises of my Lord God.
ਜਪਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜੀਉ ਭਾਗ ਵਡੇਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥
jap guramukh nām jīu bhāg vadērē jīu .
As Gurmukh, chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord, O very fortunate ones.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜੀਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥
har har nām jīu prān har mērē jīu .
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is my soul and my breath of life.
ਫਿਰਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਭਵਜਲ ਫੇਰੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
phir bahur n bhavajal phērē jīu .2.
I shall never again have to cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||
ਕਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਵੇਖਾ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਚਾਉ ਜੀਉ ॥
kiu har prabh vēkhā mērai man tan chāu jīu .
How shall I behold my Lord God? My mind and body yearn for Him.
ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਜੀਉ ਮਨਿ ਲਗਾ ਭਾਉ ਜੀਉ ॥
har mēlah sant jīu man lagā bhāu jīu .
Unite me with the Lord, Dear Saints; my mind is in love with Him.
ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਰਾਉ ਜੀਉ ॥
gur sabadī pāīai har prītam rāu jīu .
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, I have found the Sovereign Lord, my Beloved.
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਉ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
vadabhāgī jap nāu jīu .3.
O very fortunate ones, chant the Name of the Lord. ||3||
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਵਡੜੀ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
mērai man tan vadarī gōvind prabh āsā jīu .
Within my mind and body, there is such a great longing for God, the Lord of the Universe.
ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਜੀਉ ਗੋਵਿਦ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
har mēlah sant jīu gōvid prabh pāsā jīu .
Unite me with the Lord, Dear Saints. God, the Lord of the Universe, is so close to me.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥
satigur mat nām sadā paragāsā jīu .
Through the Teachings of the True Guru, the Naam is always revealed;
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪੂਰਿਅੜੀ ਮਨਿ ਆਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੫॥੩੧॥੬੯॥
jan nānak pūriarī man āsā jīu .4.5.31.69.
the desires of servant Nanak's mind have been fulfilled. ||4||5||31||69||
