ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸਨਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬਰਦਾਯਉ ਉਲਟਿ ਗੰਗ ਪਸ੍ਚਮਿ ਧਰੀਆ ॥
har nām rasan guramukh baradāyau ulat gang pascham dharīā .
The Guru spoke the Lord's Name with His mouth and broadcast it throughout the world, to turn the tide of the hearts of men.
ਸਕਯਥੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਕਲ੍ਯੁਚਰੈ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਸ੍ਯਿਉ ਅਮਰ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ॥੮॥
sakayath janam kalyucharai gur parasyiu amar pragās .8.
So speaks KALL: fruitful is the life of one who meets with Guru Amar Daas, radiant with the Light of God. ||8||
ਬਾਰਿਜੁ ਕਰਿ ਦਾਹਿਣੈ ਸਿਧਿ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਮੁਖੁ ਜੋਵੈ ॥
bārij kar dāhinai sidh sanamukh mukh jōvai .
On His right hand is the sign of the lotus; the Siddhis, the supernatural spiritual powers, await His Command.
ਸੋਈ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਛਲੁ ਭਗਤਹ ਭਵ ਤਾਰਣੁ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਫੁਰਿਆ ॥੧॥
sōī nām ashal bhagatah bhav tāran amaradās gur kau phuriā .1.
That Undeceivable Naam, which carries the devotees across the world-ocean, came into Guru Amar Daas. ||1||
ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਖ੍ਯ ਅਰੁ ਕਿੰਨਰ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਸਿਧ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਹਰਾ ॥
simarah sōī nām jakhy ar kinnar sādhik sidh samādh harā .
The gods and heavenly heralds, the Siddhas and seekers and Shiva in Samaadhi meditate in remembrance on the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਰਿਧਿ ਬਸੈ ਬਾਂਵਾਂਗਿ ਜੁ ਤੀਨਿ ਲੋਕਾਂਤਰ ਮੋਹੈ ॥
ridh basai bānhvānhg j tīn lōkānhtar mōhai .
On His left are worldly powers, which fascinate the three worlds.
ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸੈ ਅਕਹੀਉ ਸੋਇ ਰਸੁ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਜਾਤਉ ॥
ridai basai akahīu sōi ras tin hī jātau .
The Inexpressible Lord abides in His Heart; He alone knows this joy.
ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਨਖ੍ਯਤ੍ਰ ਅਵਰ ਧ੍ਰੂ ਮੰਡਲ ਨਾਰਦਾਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਹਲਾਦਿ ਵਰਾ ॥
simarah nakhyatr avar dhrū mandal nāradād prahalād varā .
The stars and the realms of Dhroo, and devotees like Naaraad and Prahlaad meditate on the Naam.
ਮੁਖਹੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਉਚਰੈ ਅਮਰੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਇਤੁ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਉ ॥
mukhah bhagat ucharai amar gur it rang rātau .
Guru Amar Daas utters the words of devotion, imbued with the Love of the Lord.
ਮਸਤਕਿ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ਸਚਉ ਕਰਮੁ ਕਲ੍ਯ ਜੋੜਿ ਕਰ ਧ੍ਯਾਇਅਉ ॥
masatak nīsān sachau karam kaly jōr kar dhyāiau .
On His forehead is the true insignia of the Lord's Mercy; with his palms pressed together, KALL meditates on Him.
ਸਸੀਅਰੁ ਅਰੁ ਸੂਰੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਲਾਸਹਿ ਸੈਲ ਲੋਅ ਜਿਨਿ ਉਧਰਿਆ ॥
sasīar ar sūr nām ulāsah sail lō jin udhariā .
The moon and the sun long for the Naam; it has saved even mountain ranges.
ਸੋਈ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਛਲੁ ਭਗਤਹ ਭਵ ਤਾਰਣੁ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਫੁਰਿਆ ॥੨॥
sōī nām ashal bhagatah bhav tāran amaradās gur kau phuriā .2.
That Undeceivable Naam, which carries the devotees across the world-ocean, came into Guru Amar Daas. ||2||
ਪਰਸਿਅਉ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤਿਲਕੁ ਸਰਬ ਇਛ ਤਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਅਉ ॥੯॥
parasiau gurū satigur tilak sarab ish tin pāiau .9.
Whoever meets with the Guru, the certified True Guru, has all his desires fulfilled. ||9||
ਚਰਣ ਤ ਪਰ ਸਕਯਥ ਚਰਣ ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰ ਪਵਲਿ ਰਯ ॥
charan t par sakayath charan gur amar paval ray .
Supremely fruitful are the feet which walk upon the path of Guru Amar Daas.
ਸੋਈ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਵਰਿ ਨਵ ਨਾਥ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਸਿਵ ਸਨਕਾਦਿ ਸਮੁਧਰਿਆ ॥
sōī nām sivar nav nāth niranjan siv sanakād samudhariā .
Dwelling upon that Immaculate Naam, the nine Yogic masters, Shiva and Sanak and many others have been emancipated.
ਹਥ ਤ ਪਰ ਸਕਯਥ ਹਥ ਲਗਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰ ਪਯ ॥
hath t par sakayath hath lagah gur amar pay .
Supremely fruitful are the hands which touch the feet of Guru Amar Daas.
ਜੀਹ ਤ ਪਰ ਸਕਯਥ ਜੀਹ ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰੁ ਭਣਿਜੈ ॥
jīh t par sakayath jīh gur amar bhanijai .
Supremely fruitful is the tongue which utters the praises of Guru Amar Daas.
ਚਵਰਾਸੀਹ ਸਿਧ ਬੁਧ ਜਿਤੁ ਰਾਤੇ ਅੰਬਰੀਕ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਰਿਆ ॥
chavarāsīh sidh budh jit rātē anbarīk bhavajal tariā .
The eighty-four Siddhas, the beings of supernatural spiritual powers, and the Buddhas are imbued with the Naam; it carried Ambreek across the terrifying world-ocean.
ਉਧਉ ਅਕ੍ਰੂਰੁ ਤਿਲੋਚਨੁ ਨਾਮਾ ਕਲਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਹਰਿਆ ॥
udhau akrūr tilōchan nāmā kal kabīr kilavikh hariā .
It has erased the sins of Oodho, Akroor, Trilochan, Naam Dayv and Kabeer, in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga.
ਨੈਣ ਤ ਪਰ ਸਕਯਥ ਨਯਣਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਅਮਰੁ ਪਿਖਿਜੈ ॥
nain t par sakayath nayan gur amar pikhijai .
Supremely fruitful are the eyes which behold Guru Amar Daas.
ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਤ ਪਰ ਸਕਯਥ ਸ੍ਰਵਣਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਅਮਰੁ ਸੁਣਿਜੈ ॥
sravan t par sakayath sravan gur amar sunijai .
Supremely fruitful are the ears which hear the Praises of Guru Amar Daas.
ਸੋਈ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਛਲੁ ਭਗਤਹ ਭਵ ਤਾਰਣੁ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਫੁਰਿਆ ॥੩॥

ਤਿਤੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਾਗਿ ਤੇਤੀਸ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਜਤੀ ਤਪੀਸੁਰ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ॥
tit nām lāg tētīs dhiāvah jatī tapīsur man vasiā .
The three hundred thirty million angels meditate, attached to the Naam; it is enshrined within the minds of the celibates and ascetics.
ਸਕਯਥੁ ਸੁ ਹੀਉ ਜਿਤੁ ਹੀਅ ਬਸੈ ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰਦਾਸੁ ਨਿਜ ਜਗਤ ਪਿਤ ॥
sakayath s hīu jit hī basai gur amaradās nij jagat pit .
Fruitful is the heart in which Guru Amar Daas, the Father of the world, Himself abides.
ਸਕਯਥੁ ਸੁ ਸਿਰੁ ਜਾਲਪੁ ਭਣੈ ਜੁ ਸਿਰੁ ਨਿਵੈ ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰ ਨਿਤ ॥੧॥੧੦॥
sakayath s sir jālap bhanai j sir nivai gur amar nit .1.10.
Fruitful is the head, says Jaalap, which bows forever before Guru Amar Daas. ||1||10||
ਸੋਈ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਗੰਗੇਵ ਪਿਤਾਮਹ ਚਰਣ ਚਿਤ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸਿਆ ॥
sōī nām simar gangēv pitāmah charan chit anmrit rasiā .
Bhisham Pitama, the son of the Ganges, meditated on that Naam; his consciousness delighted in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord's Feet.
ਤਿਤੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਗਰੂਅ ਮਤਿ ਸਤ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਉਧਰੀਆ ॥
tit nām gurū ganbhīr garū mat sat kar sangat udharīā .
The great and profound Guru has brought forth the Naam; accepting the teachings as true, the Holy Congregation has been saved.
ਸੋਈ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਛਲੁ ਭਗਤਹ ਭਵ ਤਾਰਣੁ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਫੁਰਿਆ ॥੪॥

ਨਾਮ ਕਿਤਿ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ਕਿਰਣਿ ਰਵਿ ਸੁਰਤਰ ਸਾਖਹ ॥
nām kit sansār kiran rav suratar sākhah .
The Glory of the Naam shines forth, like the rays of the sun, and the branches of the Elysian Tree.
ਉਤਰਿ ਦਖਿਣਿ ਪੁਬਿ ਦੇਸਿ ਪਸ੍ਚਮਿ ਜਸੁ ਭਾਖਹ ॥
utar dakhin pub dēs pascham jas bhākhah .
In the countries of the north, south, east and west, the Praises of the Naam are chanted.
ਜਨਮੁ ਤ ਇਹੁ ਸਕਯਥੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਨਿਵਾਸੈ ॥
janam t ih sakayath jit nām har ridai nivāsai .
Life is fruitful, when the Name of the Lord abides in the heart.
ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਗਣ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਛਿਅ ਦਰਸਨ ਆਸਾਸੈ ॥
sur nar gan gandharab shi darasan āsāsai .
The angelic beings, heavenly heralds, celestial singers and the six Shaastras yearn for the Naam.
ਭਲਉ ਪ੍ਰਸਿਧੁ ਤੇਜੋ ਤਨੌ ਕਲ੍ਯ ਜੋੜਿ ਕਰ ਧ੍ਯਾਇਅਓ ॥
bhalau prasidh tējō tanau kaly jōr kar dhyāiaō .
The son of Tayj Bhaan of the Bhalla dynasty is noble and famous; with his palms pressed together, KALL meditates on Him.
ਸੋਈ ਨਾਮੁ ਭਗਤ ਭਵਜਲ ਹਰਣੁ ਗੁਰ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਤੈ ਪਾਇਓ ॥੫॥
sōī nām bhagat bhavajal haran gur amaradās tai pāiō .5.
The Naam takes away the fears of the devotees about the word-ocean; Guru Amar Daas has obtained it. ||5||
ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਦੇਵ ਤੇਤੀਸ ਅਰੁ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਸਿਧ ਨਰ ਨਾਮਿ ਖੰਡ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
nām dhiāvah dēv tētīs ar sādhik sidh nar nām khand brahamand dhārē .
The thirty-one million gods meditate on the Naam, along with the Siddhas and seekers; the Naam supports solar systems and galaxies.
ਜਹ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਧਿਓ ਹਰਖੁ ਸੋਗੁ ਸਮ ਕਰਿ ਸਹਾਰੇ ॥
jah nām samādhiō harakh sōg sam kar sahārē .
One who meditates on the Naam in Samaadhi, endures sorrow and joy as one and the same.
ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਰੋਮਣਿ ਸਰਬ ਮੈ ਭਗਤ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
nām sirōman sarab mai bhagat rahē liv dhār .
The Naam is the most sublime of all; the devotees remain lovingly attuned to it.
ਸੋਈ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਅਮਰ ਗੁਰ ਤੁਸਿ ਦੀਓ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥੬॥
sōī nām padārath amar gur tus dīō karatār .6.
Guru Amar Daas was blessed with the treasure of the Naam, by the Creator Lord, in His Pleasure. ||6||

ਸਤਿ ਸੂਰਉ ਸੀਲਿ ਬਲਵੰਤੁ ਸਤ ਭਾਇ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਘਨ ਗਰੂਅ ਮਤਿ ਨਿਰਵੈਰਿ ਲੀਣਾ ॥
sat sūrau sīl balavant sat bhāi sangat saghan garū mat niravair līnā .
He is the Warrior Hero of Truth, humility is His Power. His Loving Nature inspires the Congregation with deep and profound understanding; He is absorbed in the Lord, free of hate and vengeance.
ਜਿਸੁ ਧੀਰਜੁ ਧੁਰਿ ਧਵਲੁ ਧੁਜਾ ਸੇਤਿ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਬੀਣਾ ॥
jis dhīraj dhur dhaval dhujā sēt baikunth bīnā .
Patience has been His white banner since the beginning of time, planted on the bridge to heaven.
ਸੋਈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸਿਵਰਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਇਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਛਲੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੇ ॥
sōī purakh sivar sāchā jā kā ik nām ashal sansārē .
Dwell upon that Primal Being, the True Lord God; in this world, His One Name is Undeceivable.
ਜਿਨਿ ਭਗਤ ਭਵਜਲ ਤਾਰੇ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਸੋਈ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਧਾਨੁ ॥
jin bhagat bhavajal tārē simarah sōī nām paradhān .
He carries His devotees across the terrifying world-ocean; meditate in remembrance on His Naam, Supreme and Sublime.
ਪਰਸਹਿ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੁ ਜਿਹ ਕਰਤਾਰਹ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ॥
parasah sant piār jih karatārah sanjōg .
The Saints meet their Beloved Guru, who is united with the Creator Lord.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਸੇਵਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਅਮਰਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਤਉ ਜੋਗੁ ॥੭॥
satigurū sēv sukh pāiō amar gur kītau jōg .7.
Serving the True Guru, they find peace; Guru Amar Daas has given them this ability. ||7||
ਤਿਤੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਸਿਕੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਲਹਣਾ ਥਪਿਓ ਜੇਨ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਸਿਧੀ ॥
tit nām rasik nānak lahanā thapiō jēn srab sidhī .
Nanak delighted in the Naam; He established Lehnaa as Guru, who was imbued with all supernatural spiritual powers.
ਕਵਿ ਜਨ ਕਲ੍ਯ ਸਬੁਧੀ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਜਨ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਬਿਸ੍ਤਰੀਯਾ ॥
kav jan kaly sabudhī kīrat jan amaradās bistarīyā .
So speaks KALL the poet: the glory of the wise, sublime and humble Amar Daas is spread throughout the world.
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਵਣੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸ ਖਾਣੁ ਅਰੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਨਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਚਾਯ ਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਸ੍ਟ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
nām nāvan nām ras khān ar bhōjan nām ras sadā chāy mukh mist bānī .
The Naam is His cleansing bath; the Naam is the food He eats; the Naam is the taste He enjoys. With deep yearning, He chants the Sweet Bani of the Guru's Word forever.
ਕੀਰਤਿ ਰਵਿ ਕਿਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿ ਸੰਸਾਰਹ ਸਾਖ ਤਰੋਵਰ ਮਵਲਸਰਾ ॥
kīrat rav kiran pragat sansārah sākh tarōvar mavalasarā .
His Praises radiate throughout the world, like the rays of the sun, and the branches of the maulsar (fragrant) tree.
ਉਤਰਿ ਦਖਿਣਹਿ ਪੁਬਿ ਅਰੁ ਪਸ੍ਚਮਿ ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਜਪੰਥਿ ਨਰਾ ॥
utar dakhinah pub ar pascham jai jai kār japanth narā .
In the north, south, east and west, people proclaim Your Victory.
ਧਨਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਓ ਜਿਸੁ ਪਸਾਇ ਗਤਿ ਅਗਮ ਜਾਣੀ ॥
dhan satigur sēviō jis pasāi gat agam jānī .
Blessed is service to the True Guru; by His Grace, the State of the Unfathomable Lord is known.
ਕੁਲ ਸੰਬੂਹ ਸਮੁਧਰੇ ਪਾਯਉ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥
kul sanbūh samudharē pāyau nām nivās .
All Your generations are totally saved; You dwell in the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
