ਗਾਵਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਦੋਊ ਭਏ ਮੁਕਤੇ ਜਿਨਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਖਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਪੀਕ ॥੧॥
gāvat sunat dōū bhaē mukatē jinā guramukh khin har pīk .1.
Both the singer and the listener are liberated, when, as Gurmukh, they drink in the Lord's Name, even for an instant. ||1||
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸੁ ਟੀਕ ॥
mērai man har har rām nām ras tīk .
The Sublime Essence of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is enshrined within my mind.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੀਤਲ ਜਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪੀਆ ਰਸੁ ਝੀਕ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
guramukh nām sītal jal pāiā har har nām pīā ras jhīk .1. rahāu .
As Gurmukh, I have obtained the cooling, soothing Water of the Naam. I eagerly drink in the sublime essence of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਨੀ ਤਿਨਾ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਊਜਲ ਟੀਕ ॥
jin har hiradai prīt lagānī tinā masatak ūjal tīk .
Those whose hearts are imbued with the Love of the Lord have the mark of radiant purity upon their foreheads.
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਸੋਭਾ ਸਭ ਜਗ ਊਪਰਿ ਜਿਉ ਵਿਚਿ ਉਡਵਾ ਸਸਿ ਕੀਕ ॥੨॥
har jan sōbhā sabh jag ūpar jiu vich udavā sas kīk .2.
The Glory of the Lord's humble servant is manifest throughout the world, like the moon among the stars. ||2||
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵਸਿਓ ਤਿਨ ਸਭਿ ਕਾਰਜ ਫੀਕ ॥
jin har hiradai nām n vasiō tin sabh kāraj phīk .
Those whose hearts are not filled with the Lord's Name - all their affairs are worthless and insipid.
ਜੈਸੇ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਕਰੈ ਦੇਹ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਕਟੇ ਨਕ ਕੀਕ ॥੩॥
jaisē sīgār karai dēh mānukh nām binā nakatē nak kīk .3.
They may adorn and decorate their bodies, but without the Naam, they look like their noses have been cut off. ||3||
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਮਈਆ ਰਮਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਸਭ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਈਕ ॥
ghat ghat ramaīā ramat rām rāi sabh varatai sabh mah īk .
The Sovereign Lord permeates each and every heart; the One Lord is all-pervading everywhere.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨ ਧਿਆਇਓ ਘਰੀ ਮੀਕ ॥੪॥੩॥
jan nānak kau har kirapā dhārī gur bachan dhiāiō gharī mīk .4.3.
The Lord has showered His Mercy upon servant Nanak; through the Word of the Guru's Teachings, I have meditated on the Lord in an instant. ||4||3||

ਇਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ਰਸਕ ਰਸੀਕ ॥
ik khin har prabh kirapā dhārī gun gāē rasak rasīk .
The Lord God showered me with His Mercy for an instant; I sing His Glorious Praises with joyous love and delight.
