ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਸਾਚੀ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੨॥
gur sabad ratē sadā bairāgī har daragah sāchī pāvah mān .2.
Imbued with the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they remain forever detached. They are honored in the True Court of the Lord. ||2||
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਖੇਲੈ ਹੁਕਮ ਕਾ ਬਾਧਾ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ॥
ih man khēlai hukam kā bādhā ik khin mah dah dis phir āvai .
This mind plays, subject to the Lord's Will; in an instant, it wanders out in the ten directions and returns home again.
ਜਾਂ ਆਪੇ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਤਾਂ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਤਕਾਲ ਵਸਿ ਆਵੈ ॥੩॥
jānh āpē nadar karē har prabh sāchā tānh ih man guramukh tatakāl vas āvai .3.
When the True Lord God Himself bestows His Glance of Grace, then this mind is instantly brought under control by the Gurmukh. ||3||
ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਨ ਹੂ ਜਾਣੈ ਬੂਝੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
is man kī bidh man hū jānai būjhai sabad vīchār .
The mortal comes to know the ways and means of the mind, realizing and contemplating the Shabad.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਸਦਾ ਤੂ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੬॥
nānak nām dhiāi sadā tū bhav sāgar jit pāvah pār .4.6.
O Nanak, meditate forever on the Naam, and cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||4||6||
ਮਲਾਰ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਦੁਤੁਕੇ ॥

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਵੈ ਘਰੁ ਦਰੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਸੁ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
satigur tē pāvai ghar dar mahal s thān .
Through the True Guru, the mortal obtains the special place, the Mansion of the Lord's Presence in his own home.
ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਚੂਕੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥੧॥
gur sabadī chūkai abhimān .1.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, his egotistical pride is dispelled. ||1||
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਲਿਲਾਟਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
jin kau lilāt likhiā dhur nām .
Those who have the Naam inscribed on their foreheads,
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
anadin nām sadā sadā dhiāvah sāchī daragah pāvah mān .1. rahāu .
meditate on the Naam night and day, forever and ever. They are honored in the True Court of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨ ਕੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਦ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
man kī bidh satigur tē jānai anadin lāgai sad har siu dhiān .
From the True Guru, they learn the ways and means of the mind. Night and day, they focus their meditation on the Lord forever.
