ਜੀਅ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੇ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥
jī dān dēi tripatāsē sachai nām samāhī .
Bestowing the gift of the soul, He satisfies the mortal beings, and merges them in the True Name.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਗਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
anadin har raviā rid antar sahaj samādh lagāhī .2.
Night and day, they ravish and enjoy the Lord within the heart; they are intuitively absorbed in Samaadhi. ||2||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਭੇਦਿਆ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
satigur sabadī ih man bhēdiā hiradai sāchī bānī .
The Shabad, the Word of the True Guru, has pierced my mind. The True Word of His Bani permeates my heart.
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਲਖੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਲਖਿਆ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥
mērā prabh alakh n jāī lakhiā guramukh akath kahānī .
My God is Unseen; He cannot be seen. The Gurmukh speaks the Unspoken.
ਆਪੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰੇ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਜਪੀਐ ਸਾਰਿੰਗਪਾਣੀ ॥੩॥
āpē daiā karē sukhadātā japīai sāringapānī .3.
When the Giver of peace grants His Grace, the mortal being meditates on the Lord, the Life of the Universe. ||3||
ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
āvan jānā bahur n hōvai guramukh sahaj dhiāiā .
He does not come and go in renicarnation any longer; the Gurmukh meditates intuitively.
ਮਨ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਮਨੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮੰਨੁ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
man hī tē man miliā suāmī man hī mann samāiā .
From the mind, the mind merges into our Lord and Master; the mind is absorbed into the Mind.
ਸਾਚੇ ਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਚਿ ਪਤੀਜੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੪॥
sāchē hī sach sāch patījai vichah āp gavāiā .4.
In truth, the True Lord is pleased with truth; eradicate egotism from within yourself. ||4||
ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
ēkō ēk vasai man suāmī dūjā avar n kōī .
Our One and Only Lord and Master dwells within the mind; there is no other at all.
ਏਕੋੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਮੀਠਾ ਜਗਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
ēkō nām anmrit hai mīthā jag niramal sach sōī .
The One Name is Sweet Ambrosial Nectar; it is Immaculate Truth in the world.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਈ ॥੫॥੪॥
nānak nām prabhū tē pāīai jin kau dhur likhiā hōī .5.4.
O Nanak, the Name of God is obtained, by those who are so predestined. ||5||4||

ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
gur sālāhī sadā sukhadātā prabh nārāin sōī .
I praise the Guru, the Giver of peace, forever. He truly is the Lord God.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹੋਈ ॥
gur parasād param pad pāiā vadī vadiāī hōī .
By Guru's Grace, I have obtained the supreme status. His glorious greatness is glorious!
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਿਤ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥
anadin gun gāvai nit sāchē sach samāvai sōī .1.
One who sings the Glorious Praises of the True Lord, merges in the True Lord. ||1||
ਮਨ ਰੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
man rē guramukh ridai vīchār .
O mortal, contemplate the Guru's Word in your heart.
ਤਜਿ ਕੂੜੁ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਚਲਣੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮ੍ਹਾਲਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
taj kūr kutanb haumai bikh trisanā chalan ridai samhāl .1. rahāu .
Abandon your false family, poisonous egotism and desire; remember in your heart, that you will have to leave. ||1||Pause||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਕਾ ਹੋਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
satigur dātā rām nām kā hōr dātā kōī nāhī .
The True Guru is the Giver of the Lord's Name. There is no other giver at all.
